The family firm.

Photos of Princess Charlotte's first day at school with her brother Prince George, show us how well their mother, Catherine, has fitted into The Firm.
Delightfully normal and without any pretentious, she and her husband simply get on with life, neither courting nor studiously avoiding the publicity that goes with the job.
She looks wonderful in the pictures taken by the DM and the family is a fitting continuation of our monarchy.

Totally agree"Eloethan"

eazybee Fri 06-Sept-19 15:16:59

Can’t believe there is not an element of racism in it, especially given the current political climate is such that racist attitudes have become virtually sanctioned.

Utter nonsense.

Anniebach Fri 06-Sept-19 15:15:23

maddy you are right, there hasn’t been one racist comment on this thread .

Much about money, seems if we got rid of the monarchy
everyone in the country will have pay increases, NHS waiting lists a thing of the past and the elected president living in a semi.

The thought of having to dress up, meet and greet with cameras rolling whilst suffering PMT or period pains ? No thank you.

annep1 Fri 06-Sept-19 15:09:50

I did say "like many other busy mums".

Eloethan good post.

maddyone Fri 06-Sept-19 14:55:16

I haven’t seen a single racist remark on this thread. The race card is pulled out too often, it prevents proper analysis by closing down the discussion.

maddyone Fri 06-Sept-19 14:53:29

Quite right Annie, I couldn’t take my children to school after my youngest was five because I went back to work. I had to be in my own classroom welcoming other people’s children to school as my children were being taken to school by their childminder. My husband couldn’t take them either, until they went to his school aged eleven.

Anniebach Fri 06-Sept-19 14:52:14

When all else fails play the race card

Nvella Fri 06-Sept-19 14:50:40

I agree Paperbackwriter. I don’t care either way about any of them but some of the the venomous comments about Megan Markle both here and in the gutter press are bordering on the barmy. Can’t believe there is not an element of racism in it, especially given the current political climate is such that racist attitudes have become virtually sanctioned.

Life is different for the royals, many privileges, but many restrictions. I wouldn’t want the job despite their privileges, money is not the be all and end all. Who wants to live in a goldfish bowl?

Anniebach Fri 06-Sept-19 14:48:18

Some mothers can take their children to school some can’t ,

I managed to and no father to have them at weekends to give some me time.

annep1 Fri 06-Sept-19 14:40:24

Well my daughter can't be there on her children's first day back to school. She is working all day - single mum - before collecting them from after school care Doesn't really benefit financially but so much less stressful than trying to get universal credit. When ex partner has children at weekend she will do the housework shopping and school uniforms. And try to find some me time!
Just like lots of others busy mums.
Yea life is so hard for the royals.

maddyone Fri 06-Sept-19 14:37:56

Crystal, if you’d thought that the world’s press would be there photographing you and you’d then be on every television screen in the world, not to mention every newspaper front page, I think you might have made an effort.

Quite Easybee.

crystaltipps Fri 06-Sept-19 14:33:41

Didn’t we all look like that on the school run? Just so normal?

eazybee Fri 06-Sept-19 14:29:02

The Sussexes are not being bullied, but they are having every action they take and every comment they make scrutinised and widely reported. This is because they have both foolishly attempted to tell other people how they should live their lives, from a position of great privilege.

HootyMcOwlface Fri 06-Sept-19 14:26:19

I’d rather read about the royals than those twerps in the Palace of Westminster.

maddyone Fri 06-Sept-19 14:24:32

Oh my goodness merlotgran, if that’s the reason it’s a massive snub to the queen. Oh dear, I’m afraid I don’t know what to say. The excuse I heard about was that they’ve said Archie’s too young, but I’m can’t see that’s true, I think it could be false news. Meghan just doesn’t understand the monarchy does she?

Lessismore Fri 06-Sept-19 14:17:13

George looks like George V1. It interests me.

I don't mind Kate and William, the security threats must be immense.

merlotgran Fri 06-Sept-19 14:08:03

The reason for not going to Balmoral is probably because Meghan is flying to New York today to watch Serena Williams play in the US open. She's flying with a commercial airline.

Hasty cancellation of private jet?? grin

Anniebach Fri 06-Sept-19 13:54:19

nanamac I asked the same question, no suggestions yet

nanamac77 Fri 06-Sept-19 13:40:37

Have you ever thought of the alternative? A President elected from that rabble in Westminster !

MawB Fri 06-Sept-19 13:24:06

I find it hard to credit gillybob that you can’t distinguish a sort of semi-crouch from a curtsey. If the Head had been in curtseying mode she would have done so to both William and Kate. As it was, her feet and knees remained together and she bent both knees to bring her head down to the children’s level.
You don’t have to be the Dowager Countess of Grantham to know that is not how a person curtseys!

maddyone Fri 06-Sept-19 12:57:42

The Sussexes are not victims of racism, what a lot of drivel!

They are guilty of double standards, by telling us, the plebs what to do whilst doing the complete opposite themselves, they are are guilty of acting like celebrities rather than royals (there is a big difference) they are guilty of treating Meghan’s father with absolute cruelty, they are guilty of obscene spending, even by the standards of royalty, and they are guilty of showing complete distain to the institution of the monarchy. The people have realised that Meghan is all about show and celebrity, and is an extremely shallow person, based on her behaviour.

Hiw How

Hiw right you are.
Kate must have taken her turn at cleaning everything when she shared a flat at St Andews and later in London with two friends.
She's no stranger to a toilet brush.

Hm999 Fri 06-Sept-19 12:39:07

Paperbackwriter. Congratulations. Perfect post. Racism is a particularly nasty form of bullying, and bullying is what the Sussexes are on the end of.
