Thats the response people always make......I do not see why we give these people a life of privilege anymore.
We do know that their blood is not blue and they were not chosen by God!
I might be better off if we had a kinder Govt. The money saved form the Royals could be used for Police Officers and Firemen...not to mention Nurses paid a decent wage.
And all the other underpaid workers.
Time for more equality again.

I think the Cambridges are doing a great job, seemingly trying to be like any other couple taking their child to the first day at School.
I would hate to be in their shoes being scrutinised every moment they appear in public,can never relax,always being critisised,not the least by some GN,s.
I feel so sorry for her Majesty the Queen this weekend having to put up with Boris! sorry nothing to do with this thread but had to mention it.

Meghan has absolutely not had racist abuse levelled at her, that old chestnut is wheeled out far too often. The reason Kate is preferred is because she knows how to behave, tries where she can to live a normal life (has been seen shopping in Waitrose and other shops, eating in the local pub, playing with her children.) In other words, doing exactly what normal people do. She has never put a foot wrong, does not cut off her parents, does not have only one family member at her wedding, gives the public glimpses of her children whilst trying to protect them from too much exposure, travels on commercial flights including Flybe, does not demand the Queen treats her differently, tries her best to fit in, accepts that having married into royalty there are compromises to be made, does everything expected of a future queen ie goes to Balmoral when asked, etc etc etc. Meghan does not understand how royalty operates, she seems to think it’s much the same as being a celebrity. Thankfully she will become increasingly irrelevant as time goes on.

Charlotte and George look cute but I am a bit worried that Charlotte’s hair is scraped back so tight. It must be uncomfortable and also putting pressure on the roots.

Kate may have an entourage of helpers but she doesn't have the freedom to come on here and debate the endless criticism of her family. At least you all have the freedom to be as nasty or nice as you like! It seems a shame that you can't just look at a picture of a little girl starting school with kind thoughts.

pinkquartz You'd look stressed and not quite 'normal' if you had the level of criticism and outright racist hate directed at you that Meghan M constantly gets. The way the press try to make out there's some kind of inter-family warfare between the two duchesses is appalling. I have no great fondness for the royal family but seeing the Duchess of Cambridge held up as some kind of perfect example of royal womanhood and viciously contrasted with the Duchess of Sussex is quite disturbing.

Some ot you must be very bitter and resentful about your own lives. I remember taking my daughter to school on the 1st day, lovely pristine new uniform (it did not stay that way). I was well dressed too as I had work.
I would also add I did not have the press to contend with either.
Some of you have such pretty prejudices.

Where would heads of state from the commonwealth and other countries be welcomed ?

Forgot , there would be no need for heads of state from the commonwealth to visit, our president would have to visit the
head of the commonwealth in their country.

I am not particularly royalist but I wouldn't expect the future King and Queen and family to travel by Ryanair, shop in Aldi or Primark, drive in a Nissan Misra , get on a bus, browse the local charity shops, hang out the washing on the line. The list is endless but many of us do these things daily and accept that's the way things are so let's get on with it , be happy.?
