I think Johnson should be forced to stay as PM and sort out the sh*tstorm he's created. He must be told that he has to revoke Article 50 if he can't come up with a solution to the Irish border, which he promised Merkel breezily that he could. Before the solution is accepted, it must be put to a referendum of the Northern Irish people.

Thats good news Paddyann, thank goodness for Scotland.
Urm, in a post a few pages back you replied to my post and I stand corrected. Any new date for an extension and Parliament will have to vote on it within two days.

The only way out is Revoke, then give it a bit of time planning before jumping in with two left feet and without Boris at the helm.

Will Europe want us back after Johnson has allied us with Trump?

paddyann Wed 25-Sept-19 00:25:21

I assume you all know that if Boris doesn't ask for an extension to the 31stOCT then the Scottish court has the power to override him and send the letter requesting the extension and they will send it ...without a doubt .
David Cameron told us "dont leave us ,lead us " during the 2014 Independence campaign .looks like thats what we'll be doing now

[love0c] I agree, I'd much rather see him hauled off to the clink......or even better to the Tower. gringringrin

love0c Tue 24-Sept-19 22:55:28

I sincerely hope he does not resign!

dragonfly46, please explain how can any person act unlawful, but in that act not break the law?

dragonfly46 Tue 24-Sept-19 22:34:55

I am not sure that although BJ’s actions were judged unlawful, he did in fact break the law.

absthame Tue 24-Sept-19 22:34:17

Hopefully my useless local ex mp that was has now not only screwed up in every political appointment that he has ever held, proved himself to be both amoral and lacking in any ethical standards but is guilty of acting outside the law as PM.

But the gutter is not low enough for bonking Boris as he is above the law as he has always known and will now attempt to prove over the next few weeks; unless our MPs stop him.

Luckygirl Tue 24-Sept-19 22:32:01

If anyone else breaks the law they have to take the consequences.

Gonegirl Tue 24-Sept-19 22:28:15

That to "Grandad".

Gonegirl Tue 24-Sept-19 22:26:52

1. It is impossible to shout on an online forum.

2. I have already told you. I haven't a clue about the Irish backstop, but I do know this country now has to look to the future and get on with the next episode. (possibly because I am now bored with the whole shite).

MawB Tue 24-Sept-19 22:22:21

Does not “dies” ?

MawB Tue 24-Sept-19 22:14:26

So Boris Johnson has Donald Trumps full support dies he?
That’s not worth a lot as Trump, it seems, is facing impeachment.
So much for our so-called leaders.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes ?

Grandad1943 Tue 24-Sept-19 22:03:40

Labaik, in all probability yes, just like the failed executives of Thomas Cook in terms of pension.

Labaik Tue 24-Sept-19 21:58:05

Whatever he's done, Johnson will still get a huge pension and police protection for life, won't he?

Grandad1943 Tue 24-Sept-19 21:47:40

M0nica, in regard to your post @20:58 today, I feel that Tory MPs are keeping "stumm" ,as you put it, simply because they are preparing to throw their wonderful new elected leader "overboard" as I will put it. ?

Rebellious Tue 24-Sept-19 21:44:48

I would detest that man if I didn't know anything about him. I hate his face.

Elegran Tue 24-Sept-19 21:41:33

Well, you did say "could you or any other leave supporter" and I have seen Gonegirl post several times that she is not a leave supporter. It is not surprising that she is annoyed at being addressed as one again. "crash his way out of the EU" doesn't sound very approving to me.
However, let's not allow ourselves to fall out and add even more bad temper to the piles of it threatening to overwhelm the country.

Grandad1943 Tue 24-Sept-19 21:41:03

Gonegirl, not resolving the Irish border issue will not allow this country to move on following any terms of Brexit.

Indeed, such a situation would in all probability restart the war in Ireland and that could well bring those troubles to these mainland shores as it did through violence in the 60,70 and 80s

So, anyone feel they have a solution?

Grandad1943 Tue 24-Sept-19 21:33:20

Gonegirl, there is no requirement to shout. However, In your post @19:30 you appear to be in favour of Boris Johnson being allowed to let Britain "crash out" of the European Union with no withdrawal agreement.

I then responded by asking the reasonable question "how would such action resolve the Irish border issue. So Gonegirl, should it be that you are unaware of any answer to that question why not just calmly respond by stating so.

Therefore I will ask again of any leave supporter on this forum, how Britain "crashing out" of the European Union with no withdrawal agreement will resolve the Irish border issue.

Gonegirl Tue 24-Sept-19 21:18:58

I don't know anything except that this country needs to move on.

Gonegirl Tue 24-Sept-19 21:18:10

Don't bloody insult my intelligence. Read and understand a post properly. If you can hmm

Gonegirl Tue 24-Sept-19 21:16:06

I AM NOT A LEAVE SUPPORTER! hmm

M0nica Tue 24-Sept-19 20:58:58

Grandad Conservative MPs were instructed not to make any comment on the Supreme court ruling and are generally keeping stumm to be on the safe side.
