If people don't have a home the government will put them in temporary accommodation or if they find a property to rent they may get help towards rental costs if their income is low. No one is making them sleep in a cardboard box. A lot of people who are homeless are so because of drug addiction issues.

Anja I did not say people deserved to be poor but it is common sense that if you do not have enough money to bring up more than one or two children then you don't have more. Nursery fees are very expensive and all costs have to be taken into account when making these decision. If your income is finite it is obvious the more children you have the less you can give each child. That is why children are living in poverty. When I was at school there was a girl in my class who had 15 brothers and sisters and she was never allowed to go on school trips, go out to cinema and other such things. The government did not put her in poverty through childhood her parents decision making did. She told us she would only ever have one child as she got no attention at home.

Trisher a 4 day week will tank our economy and decimate our public services. If doctors and nurses only work 4 days our waiting lists will get even longer. Who will put fires out when our fire fighters are enjoying their extra day off leisure time? If a millionaire wants to keep one of their properties empty that is entirely their own business and should not affect anyone else. I see you are kicking out at Landlords who are providing a house for rent for a fair price. No one is forcing people to rent if they do not agree with the price. The conservative government is bringing in legislation to stop LL from raising rents more than a fair percentage each year. No doubt Labour will find a way to vote that legislation down too.

Maybe 4 million parents need to consider whether they can afford to have so many children rather than expecting tax payers to fund them.
