we had Harry all over the "news" earlier now his wife has joined in with the whinging about how hard their life is!! Honestly ..they should have to live the lives of millions in this country and then they would know how HARD life can get .Why is it NEWS anyway? If its so hard they can always walk away .

Oh. It's a man.

Gonegirl Tue 22-Oct-19 19:30:58

Seems to me that journalist luuurves Harry And hates Meghan.

Daft cow.

maddyone Tue 22-Oct-19 18:33:29

Yes, thank you for the link Gonegirl, the previous one wouldn’t open. I think it sums the situation up very nicely.

SirChenjin Tue 22-Oct-19 18:27:18

Good article - sums it up nicely

Newly married and recently become parents . They are going through huge changes , and all under the never ending glare of the spotlight of the press who seem to delight in chipping away at them.
Yes they are privileged, and live lives that most of us can only dream about, but please let’s give them a break, and if the press can’t write anything pleasant about them, they shouldn’t write anything,
Yes they have to come to terms with living life in the public eye , and people are always going to be interested in them , but let them have time to adjust, or if they decide to do so ,to retire from public life.

Interestingly article, thank you

Gonegirl Tue 22-Oct-19 17:55:37

article here

MissAdventure Tue 22-Oct-19 17:40:13

I wouldn't pay to read someone complaining about Meghan.
I can log on here and read that kind of thing for nothing!

SirChenjin Tue 22-Oct-19 17:14:29

Is it maybe behind a paywall?

MissAdventure Tue 22-Oct-19 17:12:38

Perhaps the article has been removed.

SirChenjin Tue 22-Oct-19 16:46:57

I can’t open that link hallgreen?

hallgreenmiss Tue 22-Oct-19 16:44:39

Some of you will find this interesting in today's i newspaper

Now and again? It's constant from wealthy privileged people who haven't a clue how "ordinary" people live and get on with difficulties without moaning. Sick of the two of them who could walk away from all this but I guess the money talks.

SirChenjin Tue 22-Oct-19 16:41:36

Yes he has been doing other things, but he’s grown up immersed in it - he’s well aware of the RF brand.

As for M not being taught - perhaps it’s more a case of not listening? Surely to goodness it would have been one of the first things she would have insisted on learning and H insisted that she was helped with. It’s not as if there aren’t enough existing members of, and incomers to, the family they have access to.

Anniebach Tue 22-Oct-19 16:40:37

Do we know Harry was made to walk behind the coffin or did William want to and Harry wanted to do the same .

Would Megan take advice ?

Callistemon Tue 22-Oct-19 16:35:30

I think that Harry has been doing a few other things, school, Army etc, over the years, and is only now more high profile.
He did learn the hard way, though, when he had to walk behind his mother's coffin. He should never have been made to do that.

I'm sure Meghan would be quick to learn the royal 'ropes' but is anyone is actually teaching her!

SirChenjin Tue 22-Oct-19 16:33:31

Media savvy

SirChenjin Tue 22-Oct-19 16:28:54

I know Callistemon - H has been doing the job for 35 years and M had a global brand for a number of years. Even if the RF brand came as a surprise to her she still knows a thing or 2 from her global ambassador days, her acting career and her worldwide blog (since closed) . These are 2 very savvy media people who know a fair amount of the importance of image and of getting people to help you build and sustain that image. It’s a business they know very well.

Anniebach Tue 22-Oct-19 16:27:58

Callistemon Diana’s grandmother was lady in waiting to the queen mother. Her father was equerry to the Queen, her brother in law , when she married was assistant private secretary to the Queen, later private secretary, surely they were able to advise Diana

Callistemon Tue 22-Oct-19 16:25:17

And, just to add, I would not criticise Meghan's previous acting career because, like many jobs or professions, royal duties are a form of acting - they just cannot go out and say or do just what they like. They must act the part in public.

Being an actress should be an advantage.

Callistemon Tue 22-Oct-19 16:22:24

Good post Iam64.

I am not criticising them, I am saying that I think they need more help from staff experienced in royal protocol. I hope they get this and hope that they take heed.

It all started so well but I think they are floundering.

Callistemon Tue 22-Oct-19 16:19:23

I get the feeling that nothing is planned or properly thought through.

Whatever the job, everyone needs a period of training even if qualified. Their job, being on public display all the time, requires more training and knowledge of protocol than someone doing a job which does not have such a high public profile.
This is not just the Royal Family, this is GB on display to the world.

Iam64 Tue 22-Oct-19 16:16:26

Kate has two parents, who seem to love each other and their children and to have provided their children with a stable, loving family throughout their childhood. That support is obviously ongoing.
The press criticised, picked at Kate, called her waitie Katie, suggested William should move on etc. Criticised her mother for being "an air hostess", expressed snobbery about their business etc etc. Then when the couple reconciled, moved on to saying she was too thin, when she was pregnant, criticised her for playing hockey in high heel - who did she think she was putting her baby at risk etc etc ? She was on royal duties of course.
H and M had something of a whirlwind romance, marriage and baby. They hadn't had several years together including meeting at 18 when first at university. I'm shocked that so many are still criticising this young couple, who are clearly struggling currently. Leave them alone and let's hope neither of them end up needing intensive or long term input for their mental health. I do hope they aren't reading this, or the many other awful comments on line.

Trisher - many thanks for your post.

SirChenjin Tue 22-Oct-19 16:10:47

I wonder why there’s such a high turnover of staff? You’d have thought these world renowned PR agencies would be desperate to step in and help them. Both H&M have been in this spotlight game long enough to know the importance of brand management, they really shouldn’t be getting it so wrong - which makes me wonder if it’s all planned and a move away from royal duties to enable them to mix in celebrity/global ambassador type circles.

Callistemon Tue 22-Oct-19 15:59:59

Kate also has an extremely supportive and loving family who are always there for them all.
