I would just like one thread for brexiters only please.

I voted leave. I would vote leave again and again and again. There has been nothing to change my mind. I have been hardened by the views of remainers.

I would really like to talk to other brexit minded posters.
Thanks.

People like you make me laugh. Juvenile spelling errors BlueBelle.

Hetty58 Sun 20-Oct-19 19:49:08

I voted leave and nothing has changed my mind. I do think, however, that had the remainers won, we would have been a little more polite and graceful in accepting it!

Urmstongran Quote [aprilrose would like a nice thread for us Brexiteers to post positive things.] End Quote.

Urmstongran, I see no positive things being posted in this thread. What I do witness is Brexitiers sobbing on each other's virtual shoulders over the defeat in the House of Commons yesterday and in the realisation of the terrible error they made in voting as they did in the referendum.

Good idea Buffybee
I was bought a good bottle of champagne for my 65th birthday in August. We’ve decided to open it and celebrate when we Brexit!

I repeat, this thread was designed to be provocative

Rubbish. Absolute rubbish. I put this thread up so I know exactly what it was for. I wanted to find other people who like me had voted to leave the EU and to talk to them. Just as I said on the tin.

Eloethan Sun 20-Oct-19 19:45:04

I repeat, this thread was designed to be provocative.

The first post demonstrates this point. Rather than say "I am a Brexiter" and make a few points as to the tangible advantages of leaving the EU, Opel chooses to follow up her statement with "I am now just waiting for the first remainer to pop their head over the parapet".

The OP then goes on to say how much she likes BJ, followed by another poster emphasizing their support for him and their disgust at Oliver Letwin and Dominic Grieve.

Someone else then pops in to say she is sick of remainers "catastrophising".

Another poster refers to remainers as "gatecrashers" for, against explicit instructions, putting forward their views. Then there's "baying hounds" and "wasps round a jam jar".

It seemed that very few of the enthusiastic leavers were inclined to elaborate on the reasons for their joy - perhaps a list of all the opportunities that will present themselves once we leave?

As I said previously, the whole purpose of the thread was to provoke an argument whilst assuming an air of reasonableness and injured innocence.

Buffybee Sun 20-Oct-19 19:44:47

Well I voted leave and I don't have to explain or discuss my reasons with anyone.
It was my right, my vote, my opinion and my decision and nothing to do with anyone else.
Champagne and fireworks at the ready......

aprilrose in regard to your post @19:23 today, you state that there are any number of threads where we can discuss Brexit.

However, I have been through just a few of the threads in this section of the forum, and there are a number of requests from remain posters asking forum members with leave views how European Union membership has damaged Britain or their lives. Sadly, I am in any of those threads unable to find any replies to those requests.

So, I will attempt to get the ball rolling.

The Question. While Britain has been a member of the European Union it became the fifth-largest economic power in the world.

Therefore can someone with leave views "please" inform me how the above has damaged Britain and made our lives worse???????

Urmstongran Sun 20-Oct-19 19:33:07

Can we be that lucky mcem?

Grandad1943 Sun 20-Oct-19 19:16:24

No, Grandad this thread isn’t for debating with Remainers.
aprilrose would like a nice thread for us Brexiteers to post positive things.

Nice try though.

I suggest that all remain voters retire from this thread now and return in a few days once the brexit positivity builds up and there are dozens of optimistic but realistic posts to reassure us!

BlueBelle Sun 20-Oct-19 19:27:44

Start a thread for remainders only grabriella ....why the exclusivity ? It’s like chips without salt or vinegar ...boring
Nobody has yet told me what’s so bad about the EU apart from a few nutters moaning about straight bananas I never heard anyone complain before the Cameron debacle

aprilrose Sun 20-Oct-19 19:23:23

I believe that this thread has been started for "Brexitiers only" as those who voted that way realise that their argument(s) just do not stand up in any genuine debate

You might believe that. We can all believe anything we want really. The purpose of this thread was not to discuss but to share.

There are any number of threads where you can discuss, almost none where those of like mind can share. besides, I just wanted to know if there were others out there like me.

Clearly there are and there are lots of lovely people making really good comments. I thank them all for re assuring me smile

GrannyGravy13 Sun 20-Oct-19 19:21:30

Those on here who put their X in the “leave the EU” box, have given repeatedly their reasons for doing so.

If their are posters on here asking the same old questions, I suggest your time would be better spent re-reading all the previous “Brexit related” threads?

GabriellaG54 Sun 20-Oct-19 19:20:47

MaizieD
So sorry that we've disappointed you. It's a shame but I suggest you find a more interesting occupation.
How about starting a thread for remainers only?
You can be sure of an echo chamber with like minded people and no Brexiteers.

toscalily Sun 20-Oct-19 19:20:26

That should read remainers but auto correct persists in changing it to retainers!

lemongrove Sun 20-Oct-19 19:20:12

Still, we can hope this week will be the one where MP’s accept the Johnson deal and we can move on.

lemongrove Sun 20-Oct-19 19:18:42

Gabriella ?

lemongrove Sun 20-Oct-19 19:18:08

Of course you weren't MaizieD ( let honesty be your friend!)

It’s ok Aprilrose still post what you want to, but be aware that this thread will draw the Remainers like angry wasps to a pot of jam.grin

toscalily Sun 20-Oct-19 19:17:04

The OP asked please & said thanks in her original post so it was very polite. With so many threads over so many months, so much antagonism, so much unpleasantness was it really too much to ask for a little positivity but no, the retainers had to jump in and complain as usual. Strange as I have not said whether I was a remainer or brexiteer but whichever I would defend the OP right to have a discussion without all the animosity.

Grandad1943 Sun 20-Oct-19 19:16:24

I believe that this thread has been started for "Brexitiers only" as those who voted that way realise that their argument(s) just do not stand up in any genuine debate.

So, to prove my above comment wrong, can someone who voted leave please tell me how Britain being a European Union member state has been damage or held back during those years of membership???

GabriellaG54 Sun 20-Oct-19 19:15:51

The trolls day trip was on Saturday.

MaizieD Sun 20-Oct-19 19:12:30

This is such a disappointing thread.

I was so hoping to find out what is so wonderful about Brexit sad

suziewoozie Sun 20-Oct-19 19:09:48

Labaik rather than a request that leave voters only post on this thread, could I request that they post only on this thread? Geddit?
