Thinking about the 50p coins which have been minted and are not now being used, what else can you list that was 'definite' and how long did it last before being pulled?

I'll start with an easy one: SJ said there would definitely be a budget in November and then, less than 24 hours later, said there wouldn't.

I doubt the country will explode on the 31st October, but a lot of folk must feel horribly tempted as Bonfire Night approaches.

Mint what ever floats your boat as long as the UK once again flies its own flags.

The only way Scotland could remain in the EU!!!

mcem Sun 27-Oct-19 11:37:42

How about the lie that the only way Scotland could remain in the UK was to vote to stay in UK?
Now that's an outcome based on a lie that might well be rectified very soon!

Jeremy Corbyn:

We will support an election when the Benn Act is passed.
We will support an election when an extension is granted by the EU
We will support an election when No Deal is off the table

We must porogue parliament for 6 weeks so we can prepare for a queen's speech it's got nothing to do with Brexit
Then. People opposing the porguement of parliament are just trying to thwart Brexit.
We must have a queen's speech to set out our programme for government to transform services
Then the next minute we must have an election (Making any Queens Speech void and nonsense)

lindylou your "we" is way off beam.
Please do not include me in your sweeping generalisation!

Amagran Sun 27-Oct-19 11:02:59

Good one, Nonnie.

SNP once in a generation referendum. If you think you are sick of hearing about Brexit, think how we feel, we have been getting Referendum rammed down our throats by Wee Krankie for 5 years.

Annecan Sun 27-Oct-19 10:43:07

We must have an election
No we won't have an election

Annecan Sun 27-Oct-19 10:42:25

The referendum was only advisory

Annecan Sun 27-Oct-19 10:41:00

crystaltipps..anything Jeremy Corbyn has promised...that is, when you can actually pin the weak man down.

Nonnie Sun 27-Oct-19 10:17:34

Yellowhammer is only a 'worst case'. That is not what it said, it said 'base case'

Jaycee5 Sun 27-Oct-19 10:09:47

Amagram I agree. It is baffling. It is, unfortunately, the power of the corporate media who want their tax affairs untouched and Leveson 2 not invoked.
It is sad as people are ignoring the fact that austerity is still happening and still killing people.

I will issue all MP’s and members of the Lords with P45’s and start afresh

Bobbynet1962 Sun 27-Oct-19 09:40:42

????

dragonfly46 Sun 27-Oct-19 09:37:16

That’s a really good reason for wanting to leave the EU Juliet

Juliet27 Sun 27-Oct-19 09:34:03

New UK passports will be blue once we leave. Mine needs renewing and I keep holding on...I want a blue one!!

Hetty58 Sun 27-Oct-19 09:29:04

The lies, u-turns and ridiculous statements have always been there, but now the cover-ups aren't even bothered with!

Amagran Sun 27-Oct-19 09:24:34

I love this thread, but....

Every exposure of his mendacity and manipulation, increases his lead in the opinion polls.

I do not understand it. The man is completely Teflon-coated.
Why is the public so hell-bent on having a man with his record of failure, lying and mismanagement of public money as PM? I am beyond baffled and completely despairing.

Barmeyoldbat Sun 27-Oct-19 09:15:41

There will never be a sea borer between Ireland and the mainland. I hear that Boris is on the naughty step in Parliament.

mcem Sun 27-Oct-19 09:11:12

I have read that there may be clever selling on the Royal Mint website in the interests of damage limitation!

Bill Clinton's " I did not have sex with that woman" pales into insignificance next to BJ's sexual shenanigans and lies. People were shocked back then but so many (brexit supporters) now accept that infidelity and blatant dishonesty are the norm for BJ?

Whitewavemark2 Sun 27-Oct-19 09:05:18

Not a single statement I have listed above was true, there are loads more.

We are spoiled for choice.

Although it might seem amusing what is actually happening is that Johnson is in fact undermining democracy.

Respect and trust is st an all time lie, and Johnson is enduring it dink’s further snd further

Whitewavemark2 Sun 27-Oct-19 09:02:35

“I will maintain workers rights, consumer protection and environmental protection”

Whitewavemark2 Sun 27-Oct-19 09:01:28

“I will pull the withdrawal document altogether if parliaments votes against my timetable”
