It is October 31st. Why do I think something should be happening?

GG13 wow that looks nice!??????
Something is happening tonight! By the wonders of modern technology I can be in the Argy Bargy Bar pouring free pints of rhubarb gin for all, and in the Summer Jamboree meadow thread cooking up bangers on the BBQ and at home
With the smaller DGC waiting for knocks on the door to hand out sweeties in a big bag shaped like a bear paw.?
????????

Ginny may I adopt that "ditched by the populace", I like it? I agree about promises turning into lies but he doesn't appear to be accountable, people forget or forgive which amazes me.

Yes, JenniferEccles. I believe the weasel is already filling his diary with after-dinner speaking engagements, the title being “How I Thwarted Brexit”.

JenniferEccles Thu 31-Oct-19 12:10:03

Something good is happening today as I believe it is the awful little weasel Bercow's last day as Speaker.

So, sadly no Brexit but at least we do have something to celebrate.

I thought my DGS might be here for Hallowe'en, but he's not so I now have a cauldron of pumpkin soup. Just across the courtyard is a very grumpy looking Jack 0'Lantern. The knife must have slipped!

Nonnie the best we can hope for is that BJ is ditched by the populace. Lies once uttered cannot be untold and promises not fulfilled turn into lies in the fullness of time also. The big ditch lie is a mischief night trick.

The day is young, anything can happen but don't hold your breath! grin. I am in the UK so maybe I should stop eating healthily and being sensible because I will explode before midnight? Where is the empty ditch, I want to see it?

Callistemon Thu 31-Oct-19 11:53:38

We used to get some nice trick or treaters coming round but no longer
Although I have heard that if you put a pumpkin outside, it signals that the you're happy to get a knock on the door.

Sweeties are ready even if Brexit isn't.

GrannyGravy did you carve those? I am very impressed smile

We're being urged not to waste our pumpkins if we buy one - use them for soups, flans or roasted.

Devorgilla Thu 31-Oct-19 11:03:11

GracesGranMK3 - I'll raise a glass to that.

Meanwhile, I expect a small number of the very young to knock for their 'trick or treat'.

GracesGranMK3 Thu 31-Oct-19 10:53:28

Simple "Happy No Brexit Day" from me.

Anniebach Thu 31-Oct-19 10:19:36

No little trick or treaters because they are not allowed in this
Cul de sac, not fair

GrannyGravy13 Thu 31-Oct-19 10:16:51

Halloween tea with GC, Mr.Gravy cooking our dinner and a nice bottle of wine, may even have a glass of fizz.

I have one life and intend to live it as well as I possible can, there is far more to life than politicians and politics

Whitewavemark2 Thu 31-Oct-19 10:10:31

"Do or die" and "dead in a ditch" were seen by most of us as idiotic boasts.
If only the BJ supporters could see that such bombastic rubbish proves the man is simply not fit to be a leader!

Pittcity Thu 31-Oct-19 08:29:17

Has Father Brexmas not been?

Oopsminty Thu 31-Oct-19 08:29:14

Halloween!

Whitewavemark2 Thu 31-Oct-19 08:26:14

What a buffoon we have as premier.
