Considering voting Labour?

I expect taxi drivers love being called “the natives”, and Edinburgh is not typical of the rest of Scotland, any more than London taxi drivers are reorientation of anyone in the rest of the country. Most of “the natives” I meet in Argyll are in favour of independence- what does that prove?

Starmer has been all over breakfast news channels "3 months to negotiate a better deal will be easy" and "a referendum within 6 months", but no actual "facts"!!!!

Have you any idea how ironic this sounds, GG13 when Leavers are usually completely dismissive of 'facts'.

What I find horrifying is that we could end up with Diane Abbot as Home Secretary!!!!!!

Perhaps you'd like to tell us a few facts about why you think Abbott would be a poor Home Secretary rather than just posting slightly hysterical nothings.

Did it not occur to you GrannyGravy13 that those taxi drivers on hearing your "southern accent" and looking for a good renumeration tip may have been telling you exactly what they felt you would wish to here. ?

I have always found that London taxi drivers especially are very accomplished in that respect.

I have a job which involves using taxis. My regular driver tells me he works 7 days a week, to put food on the table and the family is struggling to afford shoes for the children.

They were all delightful, and on hearing our "softie southern accents" initiated Brexit & Boris conversations. Not at all arbitrary, extremely informative and proud of Edinburgh Grandad1943 we were just two happy chatty couples who enjoy interacting with "the natives"

Yes I am sure that Edinburgh taxi drivers inform everyone who gets in their cab exactly what their political views are.

lemongrove we were in Edinburgh a few weeks ago and used taxis at least twice sometimes four times a day, not one of them supported Sturgeon or independance.

I find it horrifying that Jacob Reece Mogg could be Home Secretary if the Tories are returned to government.

Those now trying to live on food banks and fifty pounds per week will probably find themselves living on even less. Or, will the Tories through the likes of Reece Mogg decide it is more benevolent to reopen the Work Houses?

I watched Nicola Sturgeon on GMB and she didn't seem capable of grasping that if the UK leave the EU with no customs alinement and consequently Scotland votes for independence and "re-joins" the EU that there would have to be a hard border between U.K. and Scotland.

No porkies from me, I just saw a clip with Starmer saying how easy a deal would be, and quick apparently!
I have also heard individual LP MP’s saying what they would like.
And.......they said just the other day, that they won’t say which way they campaign ( in a new referendum) until they are in power.So, they may negotiate another deal and then in a referendum, campaign to Remain.
So WWM2 before you accuse me of lying I suggest you check your own facts.

About Brexit, they have no idea about what to do!
Keir Starmer says another deal will ‘be easy’ ( yes, right!) and Tom Watson wants us to have another referendum, and somebody else wants this thing and some want to revoke article 50.They won’t even say what they will do ( what they would campaign for) with another referendum, so your guess is as good as mine what they would do.They say they will tell us ( how good of them) after the election if they get into power!!!

Lyndiloo it would be good, if on Gransnet at least, we could try and stick to the truth over this this election.

That being the case could you please reference where there has been an official Labour announcement that the party will vote against the renegotiated deal.

It is my purely personal view - not to be quoted as LP policy - that the vote, which would be secret, would be for each according to their conscience, hopefully for a final say on leaving or remaining.

It is noticeable that there is still no cohesive view in the country as to what actually constitutes "leave".

Lyndiloo, in regard to your above post, many feel that they individually have been stuffed under this ERG/Tory government along with this nation as a whole.

A report out today states that due to many finding problems in Benefit payments, families living on fifty pounds per week are being referred to food banks.

That is Tory Briain today.

Along with the above, we have this whole Brexit mess entirely created in an attempt to solve internal problems with the right wing in the Tory Party.

In that, the ERG/Tory party have stuffed this whole nation.

Most of the super wealthy like Dyson, Lewis Hamilton etc live abroad anyway, or have accountants helping them avoid paying tax. All those multi million properties in London are owned by Russians, Chinese etc anyway - shouldn’t we have a tax on them?

Even if the rich do leave, so what? Does it really matter if they live abroad?

Either they already have their wealth stashed abroad or it's here in the UK and they'll find it difficult to take it with them.

It's classic scaremongering.
