Considering voting Tory?

If you want our NHS to be ended and replaced by a private health scheme then this is where your vote should go.

The NHS is for sale if the Tories win. You won't take it from me? Take it from former Tory Prime Minister John Major.

"The NHS would be as safe as a pet hamster in the presence of a hungry python if Boris Johnson, Michael Gove & Iain Duncan-Smith rose to power following Brexit."

GracesGranMK3 Fri 06-Dec-19 15:24:09

Honesty, integrity, probity, morality.......we are talking politicians here and few on any side of the political divide have those attributes, are you confusing politicians with bishops?

No, we never expected to hear the whole truth from politicians but the level of lying - sheer out and out lying is the worst I ever remember. Is it because we are at war - no. Is it to protect negotiations - no. It is not even presenting the better side. It is absolute lies, particularly to Northern Ireland, only for the sake of the Brexit Tory and Boris Johnson's career.

I did not think my view of some Tory supporters could sink further but the morality of those who would support this is definitely called into question. Just how stupid would you have to be to support someone prepared to do this to others in the mad belief they will not do it to you and yours?

Do not trust a Tory, folks. Even one who is only voting for them. They are the scum of the earth if they go along with this as if it were nothing.

“Trust me. There will be no checks between Northern Ireland and Great Britain” says known liar whose own government says there will be checks between Northern Ireland and Great Britain.

Well, ‘e would say that, wouldn’t ‘e ?

Sir John Major has urged people to re-elect three MPs who were expelled from the Conservatives for voting against Boris Johnson over Brexit.

The ex-Tory PM is backing independent candidates David Gauke, Dominic Grieve and Anne Milton, all running against his party in the general election.

Sir John said "tribal loyalties" had been loosened by Brexit.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2019-50687225

This is the first time a former Prime Minister has encouraged people to vote against his own party in a general election.

Oh come off it Michael Dougan ( whoever you are)
Honesty, integrity, probity, morality.......we are talking politicians here and few on any side of the political divide have those attributes, are you confusing politicians with bishops??

Whitewavemark2 Fri 06-Dec-19 14:09:46

And this

Michael Dougan
@mdouganlpool

Planning on voting for Johnson next week?

Then please don't ever lecture anyone ever again about honesty, probity, integrity or morality.

And don't bother moaning, either, when you realise Brexit will rumble on for years to come. You really, totally, absolutely were warned...

Just read this on FB
(With acknowledgements to a GN member whose name I cannot reveal but she will know who she is! )

Are you all sitting comfortably

Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the nation,
There was misery, poverty and great deprivation
Some stockings were empty, some fridges were bare, The heating turned off, little money to spare

Boris Johnson was cosy, and quaffing champagne. Cognac and Port, so he’s feeling no pain
Stuffing his chops on goose flesh and gammon.
Caviar, Stilton and the finest smoked Scottish salmon.

The homeless are shivering in cardboard containers. Ex - Servicemen, youngsters, both Leave and Remainers
The nurses and doctors are still searching for beds. With a shortage of staff, of money and meds.

The Mogg’s singing carols with moguls and bankers. Hedge funders, financiers and various w*nkers. Admiring his baubles and pulling his crackers. Rejoicing that he's got us all by the knackers.

Your Gran’s in the corridor, still waiting on the trolley .
While the Chancellor’s counting the last of his lolly. And Grandad’s in pieces, stemming his tears
Though they’ve paid their dues these past sixty years

But hey, Gove’s on the sherry and is quite off his ( . )( . )
While his missus is battered and doing the splits
Drunken ID Smith is a singing along with the Pogues
With the rest of the mob and a few Russian rogues

The kids who are dreaming of gifts in the morning won’t get them- their benefits were stopped without any warning .
While those millionaires, who's dosh is in off-shore accounts
Will be rubbing their hands as the total mounts

And the Waspi woman is alone in her kitchen
Has long given up on Dancer and Blitzen
She was robbed of her pension, they don’t give a ? That she’s freezing and hungry on Christmas Eve night.

And now, here’s the end of my last festive story

Don't forget to vote- unless you're a Tory'

Labour “privatised” Hitchingbrook hospital. (Under Andy Burnhams watch I believe)

As soon as the Conservatives were re-elected they restored it back to the NHS.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 30-Nov-19 12:13:07

Very true

Whitewavemark2 Sat 30-Nov-19 12:11:21

Absolute ly wrong, this information came from the NHS NOT the Labour Party.

Are you saying that people should not be made aware?

Very authoritarian don’t you think?

GrannyGravy13 Sat 30-Nov-19 12:09:33

WWMK2 The NHS is being used by the Labour Party as a Political Football, scaremongering is not a pleasant attribute.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 30-Nov-19 11:51:26

The point is gg13 operations where deemed necessary will no longer be available. Nor for relieving you from the agony of kidney stones nor for blood tests for cancer.

Reason?

Lack of funds- absolutely no other reason.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 30-Nov-19 11:48:35

WWMK2, I have just been diagnosed with a hernia, and my GP explained the operation and then went on to outline that it is much safer for the patient (me) to be treated with the new medication available. I have opted for medication.

Lots of procedures and tests have been withdrawn over the years to make way for more effective and efficient ones.

Bowl tests every two years for over sixties, well women/man checks yearly pick up unnoticed problems.

The NHS is doing a good job, overworked undoubtedly. Corbyn’s “open immigration policy” would certainly add to the waiting lists for both the NHS and Housing.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 30-Nov-19 11:46:07

Matt Hancock getting very cross. What an idiot.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 30-Nov-19 11:03:47

They are also happy for the poor to suffer hernias without repair, kidney stones without removal, and at least 34 other procedures they can no longer have without paying.

Try telling me now that they care about the poor of course they don’t. Hateful

Whitewavemark2 Sat 30-Nov-19 11:01:13

True though ug .

Urmstongran Sat 30-Nov-19 10:57:48

Of course the weather this time of year sees many of them off which I’m sure pleases the Tories.

That’s a truly shocking statement to make WWmk2

Disgusting.

janipat Sat 30-Nov-19 10:26:02

Grany I despise the trying to coerce anyone to vote in any particular way, and surely it has to be illegal. If you vote in person I fail to see how this can be done, only one person at a time is allowed in the voting booth, so nobody knows where you put your cross. Isn't that why there was concern over postal voting where people could stand over another and demand it be filled in a certain way?

Whitewavemark2 Sat 30-Nov-19 08:41:56

You need to see it in Brighton. Bundles of clothes in almost every shop doorway in the main shopping area.

Of course the weather this time of year sees many of them off which I’m sure pleases the Tories.

GracesGranMK3 Sat 30-Nov-19 08:33:30

Oh Whitewave, sadly it is what some people believe to be right and will tell us the "her" deserves it for not living the way they do. Which is even worse.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 30-Nov-19 07:42:09

This

@JohnGHart
It's 5pm. I walk out of Soho restaurant. On the cold pavement is a huddled bundle, young enough to be be my granddaughter. Too hopeless even to beg. I get her a coffee, give her my change. Does it make her feel better? Does it make me feel better? No. This is my country, 2019.
