Corbyn last year
"Shamina Begun should be allowed to return to the UK. She was only a 16 year old immature child when she joined ISIS she cannot be held accountable for her actions at such a young age"

Corbyn last week
"We the people demand 16 year olds be given the vote in the UK, they are responsible and free thinking young adults"

The Brexiteer

But where is everyone going to live?

It sounds so compassionate to say being over everyone's family, but put them where exactly?

Is there a plan for this very practical problem?

Like making all second homes forfeit???

I also support the view that Jews need their own homeland.

I think that it will be genocide for the Jews to give up Israel.

Like you varian, I know many who will vote tactically this time, all because of the dreaded B word.

Staunch Labour leavers will vote Tory as they want out of EU and Remainer Tories voting Labour because they want another referendum. The Lib Dem were a poor third so that would be a wasted vote in my constituency.

When I ask why they’re going against a lifetimes habits, most have said there’s always another election in a few years to get the hated ones out!

One of my daughters is considering voting Labour because at this stage in the campaign the LP look best placed to beat her dreadful Brexitory MP. However that does not mean she endorses all LP policies or thinks Corbyn is fit to be PM.

Another friend in Scotland is a very strong Unionist and Remainer. However she is seriously considering voting SNP as they seem most likely to beat her dreadful Brexitory MP. She is of course aware that the SNP would claim her vote as a mandate for separatism which she abhors.

Unfortunately our appalling FPTP voting system forces many into making difficult choices, in effect voting against the party we hate the most rather than the party we like the best. In this election, more than any other, we need to vote tactically to stop brexit.

Pantglas2 Sun 17-Nov-19 12:27:53

I suspect it’s because Brexiters will vote Tory but Remainers will be split between Labour and Lib Dem’s?

MaizieD Sun 17-Nov-19 12:14:38

Sorry, varian, the stuff on twitter coming from the Lib Dems about the LP is pure bile and makes me wonder why they aren't attacking the tories so viciously.

I say this as a long time Lib Dem voter who thought she was a centrist...

Jo Swinson must have been listening to a different interview. I heard someone who knows immigration is necessary to this country to fill skilled vacancies, someone concerned about the present policies which prevent people working here bringing their families, someone concerned as well for the British living abroad. As for Brexit he wants to repair the split in our society by giving another referendum with strict controls about the information given. He wants us to trade with the EU knows there will be a cost involved but the amount has not been discussed or decided.
But Jo Swinson's attack shows how scared she is.

Yes, Jeremy Corbyn did have contact with Jerry Adams and Martin McGuinness throughout the times of the near 30-year war in Northern Ireland.

However, Tony Blair used those same contacts with Jerry Adams and Martin McGuinness along with Ian Paisley to bring about the Good Friday Agreement which brought that war to an end.

Also in regard to Corbyn being antisemitic, there is an ongoing inquiry being carried out in the Labour party and members have been expelled

With that in mind, can anyone inform me of what has happened to the Johnson promised inquiry into Islamophobia in the Tory Party?

It seems that several high ranking council members were expelled for extream islamophobic tweets and posts they made, but they were all readmitted to the party within days.

Some justice, some inquiry.
Disgusting.

The Libs are turning into a nasty party because they criticised
Corbyn ?

What of Corbyn criticising Johnson, Johnson criticising Corbyn ?

varian Sun 17-Nov-19 11:04:22

Jeremy Corbyn's car crash interview on the @MarrShow shows that he doesn’t know where he stands on big issues like Brexit, immigration or trade. The only thing that's clear is Corbyn is useless, clueless, and he cannot answer the most basic questions on Brexit. - @joswinson

t.co/yDiaUhmt7w

The LibDems have every right to criticise Corbyn, Johnson, Farage and all other dreadful brexiter politicians We are in an election campaign.

This certainly does not make the Libdems a "nasty party", only the strongest party for Remain. To point out Corbyn's evasiveness and weakness in answering questions on brexit is fair comment.

MaizieD Sun 17-Nov-19 10:49:24

LibDem Press Office don't seem to think so, trisher:

twitter.com/LibDemPress/status/1196012334193483777

Lib Dems seem to be turning into a very nasty party indeed.

trisher Sun 17-Nov-19 10:17:35

Just watched Corbyn on Andrew Marr, thought he did very well. He seemed to have an answer to every question and was very calm.

trisher Sat 16-Nov-19 14:45:25

How dramatic!! We are actually looking at a Labour party which is more democratic that it ever has been which is seeking to implement socialist policies, invest in the NHS and develop genuine publicly owned services. Nothing unknown about anything.

Anniebach Sat 16-Nov-19 13:37:14

Corbyn’s party cannot be compared with previous Labour Parties, this time we are facing - the unknown

Iam64 Sat 16-Nov-19 13:32:37

nannypink1 I' m no Corbyn fan but a Labour government has to be a better thing for our country than one in which our public services continue to be demolished, privatised and ruined. We're heading to be like the USA, where social services have to fund raise to safeguard children. Where any medical treatment means huge bills

jura2 Thu 14-Nov-19 21:31:13

Johnson or Farage are massively more scary though, no?

nannypink1 Thu 14-Nov-19 21:29:02

Corbyn in power scares me to death ....really worried about it

grapefruitpip Thu 14-Nov-19 14:32:49

I think there are hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people, many of them young who are disengaged and disenfranchised. History tells us , this is a dangerous state of affairs.

suziewoozie Thu 14-Nov-19 14:27:18

I understand gfpit is all very sad. We deserve better ( well many of us do)

grapefruitpip Thu 14-Nov-19 14:25:23

No, thanks I will not be checking it out. Totally can't be bothered.

I despise what the Tories and Cameron have done to this country. I'm not keen on Corbyn. Overwhelming sadness.

suziewoozie Thu 14-Nov-19 14:24:45

It started with a story in that bastion of political balance the DT yesterday and MH leapt in with unalloyed empty headed delight

Urmstongran Thu 14-Nov-19 14:22:45

I will look it up this afternoon suzie
?

Urmstongran Thu 14-Nov-19 14:21:58

Probably tribal gfp we are mere mortals.
Check out the ‘Brexiteer only please’ thread for balance!
??

suziewoozie Thu 14-Nov-19 14:21:49

This example is particularly egregious

Urmstongran Thu 14-Nov-19 14:20:42

A general election suzie? Madness reigns.
