Not news or politics? Neither was the rubbish we have just seen elsewhere.

Oh for Gods sake! Why shouldn't we have a Prime Minister with a bit of Character about him? At least wherever he goes - EU/America, people seem to like him.

MaizieD Mon 11-Nov-19 15:16:12

I prefer my PM to have principles and tell the truth, thank you.

Trump loves him because he's a soulmate.

The EU is polite.

GoneG well that’s all right then

growstuff Mon 11-Nov-19 15:18:22

I'm all for a bit of character, but not if it's obnoxious and amoral.

GracesGranMK3 Mon 11-Nov-19 15:25:16

I'm actually not bothered about Johnson putting his wreath down upside down; we all make mistakes. I am very concerned about the BBC using old footage to cover the fact, especially during an election.

One person on Twitter replied: "Impossible to believe. The BBC filmed the Remembrance Day Service & broadcast it live yesterday. To think that anyone could believe one of the World's preeminent broadcasters could make such basic mistake is contemptible. It's like [Match of the Day] broadcasting LFC v MCFC 2018 game yesterday."

However, Rob Burley, the editor of BBC's Live Political Programmes - which includes The Andrew Marr Show, The Andrew Neil Show, and Politics Live, said: "Conspiracy theories flying about this. Truth is less exciting: a production error. My only insight from a year working on the show 10 years ago is that sometimes when a team has been up all night small errors can occur. It's a gruelling job, an amazing team & they've apologised."

Matt Bailey, however, was unimpressed by the explanation.

He said: "A production mistake... Where you mixed up yesterday's VT with one from 2016 that you had to search for in the archives? Yes, that's very plausible. Thank you for making it clear..."

The group including "The Andrew Marr Show, The Andrew Neil Show, and Politics Live" have always seemed to have a right-wing bias to me, so no surprise.

How can you lay a wreath upside down anyway? I think it looked right with the white flowers at the top, like he laid it.

Fuss over nothing.

I don't think the BBC was being biased. Just wanted the whole film to look good.

How about the man who, very politely but firmly asked Johnson to "get out of my town". There was also the elderly lady who told the journalist not to mention his name to her. She said he was a * *. She seemed perfectly normal. As for Trump liking him - would you really wave that flag? Like drawn to like I suppose. Terrible man. Oh, and other countries in general - how many people do you know? I have never heard a good word spoken about him from those I know.

Gonegirl Mon 11-Nov-19 15:33:16

They probably have a bit of archive material at the ready for all of it, just in case anyone falls over, or something.

If you click on the link in my post above yours Gonegirl you will see the white flowers are on the wreath in the old footage, not yesterday's.

Gonegirl Mon 11-Nov-19 15:34:59

^ Like drawn to like I suppose.^

Yes, I am the very epitome of Donald Trump. grin

Gonegirl Mon 11-Nov-19 15:36:54

Of course a 5'1 slightly bent over grey heared old lady could easily be mistaken for Trump. hmm

Gonegirl Mon 11-Nov-19 15:37:12

haired

Gonegirl Mon 11-Nov-19 15:39:38

So how can you lay a wreath which is all red poppies, upside down? confused

MaizieD Mon 11-Nov-19 16:15:41

It has a label on it, presumably with the name of the giver on it. The label goes at the 'top', nearest the Cenotaph, not at the 'bottom' nearest the road. The name on it will be upside down when people come to read the wreaths after the ceremony...

Footage of yesterday's ceremony here:

Gonegirl Mon 11-Nov-19 16:19:38

Yes, I guessed that much MaizieD.

It'll give people a chuckle if nothing else.

Why does everything have to be taken so heavy these days. Where has the sense of fun gone?

GracesGranMK3 Mon 11-Nov-19 16:20:19

Yes, I am the very epitome of Donald Trump

Not you! Johnson.

Gonegirl Mon 11-Nov-19 16:21:10

grin grin grin

Gonegirl Mon 11-Nov-19 16:21:20

sorry

Gonegirl Mon 11-Nov-19 16:22:11

I might abandon this daft thread now.

knickas63 Mon 11-Nov-19 16:25:40

grin

I am sure some news outlet somewhere has something negative to say about it!

Unlike BoJo - who stuffed up laying the wreath, but this was conveniently covered up by The Beeb who put out a clip from 2016 instead.

Wow Gonegirl '' At least wherever he goes - EU/America, people seem to like him.''

ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Trump supporters like him, all overs, and the vast majority think he is the worst buffoon idiot ever.

About the reef- yes, you and I could have made the mistake - but he has been clearly instructed how to do so- he did it perfectly in 2016 - so there was no excuse. But even then, not the end of the world, I admit. Neither was his stepping out of line at totally the wrong time, despite clear instructions.

What is a real issue- is why the BBC covered up for him. That was NOT a mistake- anyone who has ever worked in TV will confirm- footage from a few years back does not happen to be swapped at exactly the right moment by chance... or by mistake.

So did the Beeb decide to cover up for him - or were they instructed to do so by Cummings and co. In either case, they do have the responsibility to make it clear.

Gonegirl Mon 11-Nov-19 16:46:05

People do seem to like him. He seemed to get on well with the EU lot. Yeah, and the dreaded effin' Trump. (Who I do not look in the least bit like)

Oopsminty Mon 11-Nov-19 16:50:27

Kay Burley likes him

And she didn't want to

I am not keen on Kay Burley myself

But maybe if I met her, I would

Gonegirl Mon 11-Nov-19 17:08:40

I have sort of met Boris. Well, I stood next to him at a village fete. He seemed jolly, and nice.

Gonegirl Mon 11-Nov-19 17:09:38

I do rather like buffoons. But only if they do buffoonery well. Boris does.
