Totally bored and past caring already, thankfully I’m off on holiday to Trumpland for 2 weeks so I get a break, lucky me.

I enjoyed Yes Minister/Yes Prime minister so I think I’ll explore in The Thick of It as well

I’ve been watching ‘The Thick Of It’ on iPlayer.Never saw it when it was on originally, 2005 I think.
Awful swearing all the time of course, but 14 years on it all seems very familiar I fear.

I don’t think the nastiness in political discourse is ever going away. It’s been part of general election tradition for as long as I can remember.

As pointed out many times, especially on radio 4, the EU and leave will not be finished for many years as there are long negotiations ahead.

I wasn’t intending this thread to be yet another discussion about the current state of affairs but rather a plea for all of our politicians (and lawyers) to leave confrontational discourse behind and find a more reasonable approach to discussion.

Just because a way of doing something is “traditional” it doesn’t make it right!

I agree Merlotgran - it should clear things up either way for which I shall be eternally grateful!

It's just a second referendum by another name.

I can't bear it. It's not the aggression, it's the lies and spin and the fact that the really long term future of the UK depends on the result. No GE I've voted in before has ever mattered so much.

I agree ayse. I have never known such aggression

Is there anyone else who just can’t bear to watch/listen to all of this anymore?

Since 2016, the tone and unpleasantness of political discourse has turned me off. I do wish that they would all stop harping back to who did what and concentrate on current issues. They just don’t seem to be able to prevent themselves from playing the blame game. It’s like a bad relationship and it won’t improve until there is change in attitude from all parties.
