Well done Urmstongran for the apology.
Good Morning Sunday 10th May 2026
So today Johnson refused to look at footage of a 4 year old boy being treated on the floor of a Leeds A&E, even pocketing the phone of the journalist trying to show it to him.
Where is this man’s common decency?
Where is his humanity?
When will he realise the buck stops with him ?
Well done Urmstongran for the apology.
Gonegirl ???
He didn't hide in a fridge. He was in there collecting bottles.
I watched it all.
Piers Morgan is an abomination.
I'm not surprised neither Boris nor Corbyn want to speak with end wretched man
Anyone would hide in a fridge to avoid talking to Piers Morgan.
Not surprised they told him to fuck off.
Just seen this - NOT a good look for sure and not one to be proud of, hey.
So, anyone on GN prepared to say they are PROUD of their candidate Johnson and give 3 reasons that make them PROUD?
The reporter was Piers Morgan by the way
Johnson making an idiot of himself again by hiding in a fridge (on air ITV) to avoid talking to a reporter. The reporter was told to “fuck off”
Will he take a fridge with him when he goes to talk to world leaders or tries to negotiate trade deals?
ug??
I can remember other elections when there was huge disappointment when the Tories got it - but I can’t ever remember so much fear over what a Tory Government will bring after the last decade of devastation, chaos and corruption.
Well said on the apology front UG. In the long run we will need to find some way to control that side of the internet. I have a feeling the only way to do it is to make owners of sites come under all the normal publishing laws.
Thank you for your post at 9.23, Ug
I think we have to take Dr Pemberton with more than a pinch of salt, though. From what I've seen most NHS staff are begging us not to vote tory...
I was replying to Dyffryn's post of 09:27:36
I must be a slow typist as several posts appeared in between.
Dyffryn, no we don't have to pay for parking and I do think that parking charges for hospitals are totally wrong for sick people, their relatives and for staff. I'm not sure about prescription charges for those able to pay, it's a debatable point.
As for getting a GP appointment - it can prove impossible if non-urgent to get one inside 5 weeks and our surgery cannot make one beyond that time as we are told the system will not allow it. The advice is just to keep phoning in the hope there will be an appointment available (eg to get the results of a knee X ray).
There is a little more per capita funding in Wales than in England and services are extremely variable ranging from dreadful to excellent.
Although I did not vote for Plaid I do think that Adam Price talks some sense.
When the England’s budget was cut 1% overall by the Tories
NHS Wales received a massive 8% cut.
In my opinion after being knocked for 6 by such a devastating blow and has done well to gradually begin to recover showing improvement in its performance.
Of course Plaid would say that about Labour. They want to win more seats. They only have 4 at the moment.
As the title jumps at me again this morning- the answer is simple.
They can't, surely' be proud of him. Many will vote for him because they feel it is where their bread is buttered and it suits their ends - but PROUD, of this conniving buffoon of a compulsive liar- NO:
Yes Dyffryn the funding comes from Westminster but NHS Wales is in the hands of Labour there isn’t it? And they’ve allocated it badly. So the Leader of Plaid Cymru was saying on the news anyway!
That was good of you to admit to being taken in by the fake news urmstongran, I would probably have believed a post from a relative as well.
I live in Wales, the NHS here is suffering but it gets its money from Westminster. At least we do not have to pay for hospital parking or prescriptions. I also don’t have to wait long for a hospital or doctors appointment.
So what do we have. Johnson who has Lied and has used homophobic and racist language. He has avoided interviews. His party has led to serious underfunding of the NHS in the last 9 years. Of their adverts 88% were misleading. They supported by the vast majority of the MSM.
Or do we have Corbyn. I have never heard him say anything racist or homophobic. He has spent a lifetime campaigning for those in need. He attracts huge crowds of people wherever he goes. He does not avoid interviews by the right wing MSM even though he knows he will be vilified. He is not funded by a single billionaire.
I know who I am voting for.
Firstly I’d like o humbly apologise for being taken in by fake news. Apparently that FB or Twitter message sent to me by a relative, supposedly from a nursing sister at LGI was untrue. I accepted it without questioning it - I suppose I have to admit that it fed into my perceived narrative.
I was wrong and I am sorry if I annoyed some posters by sticking to my scepticism.
Secondly, I think Boris stuffing the phone into his pocket was silly and unnecessary. When he did it he ought to have said ‘I will look at it in a minute/later’. Boris wanted to bang on about Brexit and the journalist was trying to derail him. Fair enough. I don’t think Boris had seen the photo at that stage as he didn’t actually look at the phone.
He ought to have thought on his feet and handled the situation better.
Finally, just read an article in the Daily Mail written by Dr. Max Pemberton. A medic for 25y who says he is a swing voter with no particular party allegiances but on this occasion he will vote Tory. He is horrified at the prospect of Labour running the NHS again just yet. The NHS in Wales underperforms on every level.
Worth a read!
It is also to do with education.
I was reading yesterday that as you say gg3 the tribal ties are loosening, but bizarrely the Tories are losing the middle class vote particularly women and gaining the white working class vote, which given the rhetoric that comes from the Johnson household and their opinion of the working class makes one wonder about those working class willing to vote for Johnson.
Quite bizarre.
Indeed GG3 though that is a bit like hoping that the rich would be forced to pay their taxes, as the average man and woman must, rather than squirrelling them away in tax havens.
I agree with your view of those who are prepared to repeat back the mantra of their "chosen one" Yehbutnobut. In truth, I accept that there are some who have not been trained to think logically and will be totally loyal whatever their political masters say or do. That's okay with me. Foolish, but okay.
I think it has been obvious in this campaign that the public is not as tribal as they once were but, where people still are, they must have seen the evidence that the Tories are fighting a dirty campaign; that lies has become their first port of call. Voting for them knowing that is each person's personal call. Repeating and repeating the lies, which have been shown to be lies is not acceptable in my book. I am really hoping there is a law brought in which holds politicians to the same standard of truth and stops them misleading the public, as applies to all other advertisers.
