If we are talking about the same poster, then yes, she is a GN member and has been for many years.
Farage fails to report 5 million gift!
Corbyn isn’t going to stand down for some time because he
‘Needs to reflect’. !
MP’s want him to leave now .
Who for the new leader ?

Speculation isn’t pointless if some here choose to speculate
I belive that it has been stated today that the Labour Party National Executive Committee will not now meet again until mid January.
As the above is the only body in the Labour movement who can trigger a Party leadership election it would seem with all the preparation required to ballot four hundred thousand direct Labour Party Members and also the approximately five million affiliated trade union members who pay the political levy as part of their subscription, no election will in all probability take place before the middle of March 20.
So, all the speculation is pointless I feel at this point in time.
Along with the above, we may all witness the withdraw of the close and financial support provided by the Trades Unions to the Parliamentary Labour Party for over one hundred years. That final decision may well come about at the TUC Delegate Conference in June of 2020.
So, it could well be a waiting game I feel with the Leadership election even being put back to beyond June 20.
After all, what's the rush they have at least five years to sort it all out.
constituancies constituencies
Where did I say I liked Boris ???? I might have implied I understand why he garnered the votes he did. I don't care if I lack credibility, I'm not a politican, just an individual with my own point of view. I also don't think I said JC was an idiot, rather that his brand of politics didn't resonate with some of the traditional Labour voters in the north that comprise "the red wall" constituancies.
Question. Nothing to do with what’s going on here but there was a poster who started umpteen threads supporting Labour before the election. I have not seen that posters name since.
Does anyone know if she’s
a) ok
b) was the poster a real GNetter or just someone trying to get support for a certain party.
This is not meant in any offensive way. I am just curious and slightly concerned that the poster seems to have disappeared from view
i have met Becky as those of us in the loop like to call her
Hilarious, bloody hilarious ?
TerriBull, I liked JC because he wanted to nationalise utilities, to support the NHS, to fund education. You can make a daft link to China if you like. But I'm a lifetime Labour supporter. I also liked Neil Kinnock but NOT Blair.
I have NO problem if you think he was an idiot. But coming from someone who liked Boris, you lack credibility.
I was chatting to a friend this pm - long standing member of the LP - about the selection of the new leader. We both agreed that Rebecca L-P would be a disaster as she is close to the current leadership. Also she has no charisma or personality. I'm writing as someone who decried the cult of personality around Johnson but that seems to be what Jo Public wants.
Sadly I think that Cooper, Thornberry and Starmer are "tainted" by being Remainers which wouldn't go down well with the northerners who voted Leave
If I was a Tory voter I would be hoping the LP elect Rebecca Long-Bailey, one of the most dislikeable politicians I have ever seen.
As I am not a Tory voter, I hope they have the sense to go for Yvette Cooper.
Incidentally Dinah, I would have died at nine months of age if not for the NHS. Probably most of us have something to be very grateful for from the NHS. Two of my children are alive because they had Rhesus disease and the NHS saved their lives.
Dinahmo, thank you for your explanation, it is appreciated. So you’re saying these people are altruistic. I taught for many years in a poor, city area, none of the cities mentioned. I always wanted the children I taught to do their best and benefit from a good education. I did my best for them at that time. I know that at least one of them went on to be a doctor, and I believe several went on to university.
Diane (malfunctioning robot) Abbot would be my choice... but then I am enjoying watching Labour imploding, and would not mind speeding the whole process up.
Maddyone The metropolitan elite that voted for Labour do not do so because they feel guilty. IMP it is because they would like everyone to get a good start in life and to fulfill their full potential. They also recognise that not everyone can do that and that there are the poor and the sick and disabled who need help and financial assistance.
When I was young we lived in a council house until I was 13 or 14. My parents were only able to buy a house because my mother got encephalitis when she was nursing and received £750 in compensation which was used to buy a brand new house which cost somewhere in the region of £3000.
As post war children I and my siblings benefited from the National Health and I and one of my brothers passed the 11 plus and went to good grammar schools. The other 2 were ill and so missed quite a lot of schooling and went to secondary moderns. In later life we have experienced varying degrees of success but we had a good grounding. That is what people want for the less fortunate amongst us.
.....the eggs thread......
Terri, I haven’t seen the eggs, I think from what you say I need to avoid it ???
Growstuff, I know that there are poor people in the cities, and of course I saw what happened at Grenfell Tower. I’m NOT talking about the poor in the cities, I’m talking about the rich in cities, often called metropolitan elite. I’m beginning to lose the will to live here, I can’t believe that you are not understanding what I’ve said, so you must be deliberately misunderstanding.
maddyone You're wrong. They also live in places like Hackney, Tower Hamlets and North Kensington in council flats or expensive, private rentals - sometimes in substandard housing. Did you actually look at the chart I posted? Most of the people in inner London don't own their own flats and houses. Did you see what happened at Grenfell Tower? There are thousands (if not millions) of people in London living in worse conditions.
I can assure you that there are people in Liverpool and Manchester who live in poor housing and have precarious lives too. I've seen them.
Terri if I ate eggs I would find a thread on eggs most interesting ?
Claim to fame...... I have met Becky as those of us in the loop like to call her.
Maddy? I'm wondering if I do have a life I've been on the "eggs" thread, as polarised as politics. To refrigerate or not!
I’ve only just answered that because, like Terri, I have a life that doesn’t revolve around Gransnet. I’ve taken my twin grandchildren to the pantomime this morning with DH, we brought them home and fed them, then we visited my very elderly mother. So sorry I’ve only just commented Growstuff.
No Growstuff, the poor of London, Liverpool and Manchester vote Labour because they’re poor, the metropolitan elite are absolutely not poor. They are rich and educated, they live in places such as Islington. They own houses that are worth millions. I asked why these people vote Labour. Do they feel guilty for their affluent lifestyles?
Perhaps, if you made it clear to previous remarks by someone else Terribull, they would make more sense to those who pop in and out rather than sit on the forum all day.
Rebecca Long Bailey will win with Angela Bailey deputy leader !
