Was taken from Sandringham to Edward 7th hospital ,London for observation in relation to a pre existing condition.

Money can't buy you good genes but it certainly can help access treatment quickly.

On a very basic level, children who have had good nutrition ( which costs) are set up for a healthier life longterm.

Money didn’t prevent Zara Phillips from having a miscarriage.

Naming three people who have lived a long life ?

My mother in law 92, my sisters mother in law, still active 95,
another sisters mother in law , still active 93.

Prince Philip clearly does not like 'fuss'. My own son-in-law will not allow my daughter or his son to visit him when he is in hospital (he has a heart condition).

Not everyone wants visitors when they are not looking their best.

Money absolutely does buy you health - it’s a well known fact. You only need to look at life expectancies amongst the rich compared the poorest in society to know that. Of course there are individual anomalies and outliers but statistically speaking you’re more likely to live to for more than a decade longer if you are well off.

Saggi
I’m sure money certainly pays for the best surgeons, treatments, hospital care etc. but it does NOT pay for good health.
If it did, famous and wealthy people such as Steve Jobs, George Harrison, David Bowie, Cilla Black’s husband, Patrick Swayze to name a few would still be here, I think.

The queens sister 72. The queens father 57

MawB Sat 21-Dec-19 18:04:33

Saggi Sat 21-Dec-19 17:44:35

Queen mum over 100 when she died ....Prince Philip 98...... the queen 92/3?.... who says money doesn’t buy you health !

Saggi Sat 21-Dec-19 17:43:06

I’m with you tanith...aliens the word

Annaram1 Sat 21-Dec-19 17:40:06

I think these days she sends a card, not a telegram. I think Prince Philip is a bit of a buffoon myself. It would be nice if we could all access the same standard of care that he gets.
But we dont honestly believe that he would be lying in an overcrowded ward with a lot of plebs do we?

Alishka Sat 21-Dec-19 17:30:20

@3nanny6 - I love the idea that his wife will send him a telegramgrin

Anniebach Sat 21-Dec-19 17:08:15

ilovecheese I asked annpl* a question. I do wonder how many would opt for NHS if they could afford private, I so
wish I could have paid for elder daughter to have private healthcare, not for maternity care but for the illness which ended her life.

SirChenjin Sat 21-Dec-19 17:06:15

Which Royals are we talking about?

I’m pretty sure that if you went into many communities up and down the country you’d find large swathes of people who would happily swap damp housing, minimum wages, poor health, lack of opportunities and the daily grind for the life of a royal - just keep your head down, smile nicely when you’re opening a community centre, don’t proffer your opinions, don’t make racist or sexist remarks and lead a quiet life the rest of the time.

JenniferEccles Sat 21-Dec-19 16:51:44

Although I can understand everyone’s point about the royals having first class medical treatment the fact surely remains that very few would want to swap lives with them.

Callistemon Sat 21-Dec-19 16:38:28

We don't know that it is the Queen's decision, it could be that Philip doesn't want visitors.

I can imagine him telling them all not to make such a fuss!

Ilovecheese Sat 21-Dec-19 16:31:36

Anniebach why are you assuming that annpl would not refuse private health care? Many people do refuse it on principle. My husband has done so in previous employment.

suttonJ Sat 21-Dec-19 16:15:37

SirChenjin.....join me in thinking that we are citizens, NOT subjects.

inkcog Sat 21-Dec-19 16:15:29

Is Diana forgivable and the lady with the funny name who is taking time out?

Summerlove Sat 21-Dec-19 16:10:25

I was responding to a post from quizqueen. The bolded were her words.

I don’t care if the Queen visits in hospital or not. Just seemed a silly thing to judge her on

SirChenjin Sat 21-Dec-19 16:08:45

So choose

SirChenjin Sat 21-Dec-19 16:08:31

I’m just a poor lowly subject, it’s not within my gift to forgive his behaviour. The only people who can forgive him - if they do choose - are the people his comments and behaviour have affected. Meanwhile I’ll just maintain my own rather low opinion of him as I’m fully entitled to do. Disclaimer: other opinions of him are available and also valid.

Anniebach Sat 21-Dec-19 16:04:54

Nothing and no one is forgivable?
