What a truth! Racist remarks are racist what ever your colour!

tickingbird Mon 27-Jan-20 06:17:21

As I said take the day off. It doesn’t translate to f off. You use foul language then complain when challenged. Oh and reporting. What are you? A silly schoolgirl. Bandying your love of the f word around and now having a hissy fit because I’ve called you out on it. I could report you. Also why do you keep bringing Billy Connolly into it. Do you somehow think that adds weight to your argument? What is he to you, some kind of foul mouthed philosopher? I’ve heard of Confucius say.... but Billy Connolly say......? ????

trisher Sun 26-Jan-20 21:31:49

tickingbird you have accused me of having double standards although I made no comment or criticism of LF's use of language, you have told me to "take the day off" and now you are accusing me of a lack of vocabulary and inability to debate. I haven't made any such assertions about you I did ask if perhaps "take the day off" constituted a euphemism for "fuck off" as it seems rather a strange and quaintly old fashioned expression. I could if I wished report all of your unreasonable personal attacks and have them removed but I won't. I pefer to leave them and enjoy the absolute inanity and illogicality which equates swearing with a lack of vocabulary and can't distinguish one person's posts from anothers.
And I'm with Billy Connolly on swearing and vocabulary- A lot of people say that it's a lack of vocabulary that makes you swear. Rubbish. I know thousands of words but I still prefer 'fuck

tickingbird Sun 26-Jan-20 18:58:23

Trisher I understand your frustration due to your lack of vocabulary not to say reasoned debate. Maybe take my advice and take the day off hmm? You do yourself no favours with your oh so shocking use of profanity- LOL! Maybe you think you’re being outrageous and daring? As for me not having the nerve - what to swear on Gransnet? No Trisher I don’t need to dear.

antisocial

Gransnet?
Surely not?

Baggs Sun 26-Jan-20 18:47:02

Following people on social media with whom one disagrees is actually quite a good idea. It prevents you from forming opinions in a bubble and you're more likely to get both sides (or multiple angles) of an issue. I suppose if one's opinions are already formed that wouldn't work.

tickingbird Sun 26-Jan-20 18:46:59

jabberwok. Just ignore Trisher. She sounds more confused with each subsequent post.

tickingbird Sun 26-Jan-20 18:45:20

Gagajo your post is nonsensical. You know nothing about LF beyond what anyone else does unless he’s known to you. You seem to hate him but follow his twittering and appearances on tv and radio. Strange as it may seem to you, most people do just the opposite when someone they dislike appears. Most odd. Also I’m well aware this is social media and more than enough for me. My interactions are in the real world where others can’t hide who they really are. This is just for amusement- well at least recently!

Jabberwok Sun 26-Jan-20 17:55:01

Exactly.

trisher Sun 26-Jan-20 17:42:52

Q.E.D, then Jabberwok

GagaJo Sun 26-Jan-20 17:38:41

Oh I see tickingbird. You support a bloke you know NOTHING about because he said one thing you liked. Rational.

Like it or not, social media is a huge part of 21st C life.

Plus, what do you think this is, if not social media? Albeit antisocial.

Jabberwok Sun 26-Jan-20 17:30:03

trisher your patronising comments have become ridiculous as well as off subject, and I simply cannot be bothered to answer you any more. Time to give it a rest.

CoolioC Sun 26-Jan-20 17:28:18

I thought it interesting that a thoroughly modern woman as Shami Chakrabarti is, isn’t on social media because of the horrible things that happen on there. I agree with her, I am not on any rubbishy social media sites, what for?

trisher Sun 26-Jan-20 17:23:44

Did no one teach you Jabberwok that you can't prove a positive by citing a negative? (e,g a grey animal just because I say it's not an elephant doesn't prove it's a mouse)

Jabberwok Sun 26-Jan-20 17:20:48

Again at the risk of repeating myself, you asked me what this lady said and I've replied to that question. She made no mention of any other reasons so obviously I cannot and have not pontificated about something that I don't know. I've answered exactly what you asked and obviously cannot add to this!

trisher Sun 26-Jan-20 17:16:59

Woo tickingbird do you want to tell me to "fuck off" but don't have the nerve!!!???

tickingbird Sun 26-Jan-20 17:14:13

Gajago I don’t do twitter. I don’t live my life via social media and why would you wish to follow LF on any platform if you disagree with him so much? It truly is weird, desperately so.

trisher Sun 26-Jan-20 17:13:38

I asked you to say where she said it was only racism. The answer is of course she didn't say any such thing. Instead you choose to pontificate about what she didn't say. Try just admitting she didn't say it was only racism. She simply said it was rascism and was shouted over by LF.

tickingbird Sun 26-Jan-20 17:11:04

Trisher here’s one for you - take the day off!!

Jabberwok Sun 26-Jan-20 17:01:37

You asked me what she said and I've replied to your question, what's there not to understand about that?! Straw grasping?! I'll leave that to you!

trisher Sun 26-Jan-20 16:55:36

Jabberwok most logical discussion involves sticking to the subject. I realise this is a hard concept to grasp on GN where irrelevancies are introduced ad nauseam, but surely everyone realises QT is a short TV programme where discussion is limited and is seldom expanded. Really the straw grasping is becoming ludicrous.

Jabberwok Sun 26-Jan-20 16:42:21

She didn't indicate or mention any problem other than racism.

GagaJo Sun 26-Jan-20 16:20:44

Tickingbird, you only have to look at his Twitter feed. He's a vile individual and has the language to match. I don't mind the odd 'f off' but virtually every second word is offensive.

God knows what he did while at that very expensive, exclusive school, but expanding his vocabulary it wasn't.

jura2 Sun 26-Jan-20 16:15:55

Indeed she did not. Looking at the title of this thread again, I think it would have been fair and better to say 'did LF have a valid point in his comment?' rather than 'well done LF'.

trisher Sun 26-Jan-20 15:34:31

Did she? She said it was racism. She didn't say it was only racism. LF said it was NOT racism. Can you indicate where she says only racism please

Jabberwok Sun 26-Jan-20 15:15:14

The lady in the QT audience did!
