a bit mean with photos
I've thought of this a lot and I do feel that we, as taxpayers pay the Sovereign Grant and should therefore expect members of our Royal Family to perform the duties we require of them. All well and good.
They do this remarkably well, we get coverage of the State opening of Parliament, their visits, walk abouts, supporting the forces, laying of wreaths on Remembrance Sunday, the Prince's Trust, D of E Award, many other charity duties, their weddings and all the other duties involved. Plus occasional photos of their children - but should we expect that as part of the deal?
All well and good, but we never used to expect them to stand on the steps of the hospital, newborn baby in arms, never used to intrude so much.
It is as if they are not now allowed a private life, as if, because we fund the work they carry out on our behalf, we own them and are entitled to snoop into every aspect of their lives.
We do not own them body and soul.
What we demand now from our Royal Family could end up destroying it.
