Hubby and I have just got back from Parliament Square celebrations (stayed longer than planned as the atmosphere was electric!) - We all made so many new friends (both leavers and remainers) - Hellllllo to the "Backing Singers"! grin And Tenby Angels Helllooo - Hopefully we will see some new members joining GN. (I've warned them about the welcoming committee, don't worry). wink
There is definitely a wonderfully, optimistic buzz in the UK!
I love this British wave of positivity.
Reminds me of the Berlin Wall coming down.

Those who associate with the drunken thugs and nazi saluting view of the world who can shout as many f words at anyone you don’t like, you don’t speak for me and I wouldn’t want to work together with anyone of that ilk thank you very much. The ill spelt t shirt and the inability to articulate more that two words which don’t contain an obscenity embody the description “ thick racist”. It’s ugly. If you don’t mind agreeing with the likes of them, even secretly for fear of being challenged, then enjoy, but don’t expect anyone with half a brain cell of decency to agree with you.

dollymac, you can spend your life worrying or you can be optimistic, your choice entirely. Your worrying does not affect me but the worry might affect you and yours, we get back what we give out. Try and turn it around to have a happy life, like mine

@ ExperiencedNotOld - thank you. I have sat here for the last half hour or so wondering how to say the things you have said.

At the risk of speaking as I find, I agree with firecracker too.

Firecracker123 Sun 02-Feb-20 07:06:02

Well I'm with ananimous

Happy Independence Day ??

I'm fed up off all the negative posts and insults from the Remainers or should that be Rejoiners lol in your dreams, we have left accept it.

BlueBelle Sun 02-Feb-20 06:18:47

And ananimous has achieved just what she wanted, throw firework into the crowd and watch them scatter
Throw a Divisive remark and sit back and watch the big ripples grow ,watch them tear into each other, an shred each other to pieces while she’s sitting back laughing.....let them do the work for you
You are all playing ananimous s game beautifully She’s on a high with not an ounce of decorum, just dancing in joy round the witches cauldron

she’s poking the smouldering fire

Silence would have worked so much better

Which countries joelsnan?

As you evidently don’t believe my comment regarding deprivation and homelessness in others countries. I think it would be in both our interests if you research this yourself, then I don’t have to waste my time writing something you don’t believe and you don’t have to waste your time reading it.

ExperiencedNotOld Sun 02-Feb-20 00:44:57

Some of you want to take a break. Just who do you think is benefitting from this pointless mud slinging?
Nezuni I think we’ve all gathered you have great concerns over the potential of brand swap. Stop repeating it please.
Growstuff forgive me, but with a history of heart disease through stress, just think about wha you’re doing to yourself.
Joelsnan you’ve wadded in and created an argument about nothing, it appears.
Deep breath, tomorrow’s another fresh day. Move on.

Nezumi65
Are you for real?

I was asking genuine questions!

Nezumi65 Sun 02-Feb-20 00:28:33

Joelsnan twice (in response to my posts about epilepsy meds) you have said ‘what happens if people emigrate’ or if there is a ‘shortage of a particular brand’. And also a post along the lines of there are plenty of other medicine manufacturers in the world and they may well be cheaper.

If you were not suggesting brand swapping what were you saying?

Joelsnan Sun 02-Feb-20 00:24:26

Growstuff
You will have seen that I was asked if I had seen a Tonic Clinic seizure. Which I responded that I had when I was nursing, that was all.
If you can find where I have offered any medical advice on this thread, I would be pleased if you would show me.

Joelsnan Sun 02-Feb-20 00:18:03

SirChenjin
I didn’t know this was a clinical setting, don’t be silly!

Nezumi65
Please show where I have advocated brand swap.

growstuff Sun 02-Feb-20 00:17:33

form = from

growstuff Sun 02-Feb-20 00:16:23

No, I'm not an expert by any means, but what I do know is that nurses aren't experts. They're trained to nurse, not be experts in medicines or diagnoses. As a diabetic, I do have some experience of being on the receiving end of cr*p advice form nurses.

Joelsnan Sun 02-Feb-20 00:10:01

Growstuff
So you are an expert because your sisters were nurses. Good for you.
Can you advise me on my problem , I’m seeing a lot of ‘bullsxxt’.

Nezumi65 Sun 02-Feb-20 00:09:04

New Zealand made thousands of people brand swap and have backtracked recently after 5 deaths www.rnz.co.nz/news/in-depth/405925/fifth-death-linked-to-epilepsy-brand-switch

Nezumi65 Sun 02-Feb-20 00:07:54

i have copied government advice. It is to brand swap. That is not safe advice.

growstuff Sun 02-Feb-20 00:07:32

Austerity was a choice by the government.

Joelsnan Sun 02-Feb-20 00:07:02

Nezumi65
Who’s dishing out advice re epilepsy medication?
I have seen links to authoritative information, where’s the advice?

growstuff Sun 02-Feb-20 00:06:46

Which countries joelsnan?

growstuff Sun 02-Feb-20 00:05:59

Why should I ever have been a nurse Joelsnan? As it happens, I have two sisters, who were both very senior nurses and I know that the role of nurses is different from knowing what is clinically best for people.

Joelsnan Sun 02-Feb-20 00:04:06

Dollymac
Austerity Joelsnan, that's the very thing
Populism is a reaction to that

Not every country witnessing rising poverty and homelessness has done so as a result of austerity measures. I never approved of the conservative austerity measures but cannot blame it outright for the problems when the same issues are happening in other countries.

Nezumi65 Sun 02-Feb-20 00:02:23

TBH though it doesn’t matter when someone nursed or not, if they think it’s fine to brand swap epilepsy meds they’re not dishing out safe advice.

growstuff Sun 02-Feb-20 00:00:50

Actually Evie, as somebody who has suffered a heart attack, probably caused by stress and having a slightly raised blood pressure (and having faced death), I'm not prepared to go off to the grim reaper without doing what I can to say what I truly believe.

SirChenjin Sat 01-Feb-20 23:59:45

Up to the minute in 2014 ?

Nezumi65 Sat 01-Feb-20 23:59:28

It is relevant when someone was nursing. A retired nurse told us to put a finger in my son’s mouth during a seizure. Which gave the paramedics something to laugh about anyway.
