I am disgusted by the announcement that these two have sacked 15 British members of staff. What are they thinking?
I ask myself 'how would I feel if I'd upped sticks and gone to another country out of loyalty to my employer, only for them to get rid of me 3 months later.
I would be heartbroken and furious.

So moved by the prayer of the Muslim leader.

Summerlove Mon 09-Mar-20 15:36:46

So it’s ok for Camilla to wear navy when other royals are present?

Namsnanny Mon 09-Mar-20 15:34:14

Calendergirl …. I think she was talking to D of Cam. in the row in front first. Then it looked to me as if it was too difficult to hear across her husband, so she looked around the Church.

Just saying.

They all looked good. Fit for purpose so to speak!

I am more interested in why so many people in the congregation are not singing!

Anniebach Mon 09-Mar-20 15:33:49

Yes they all looked smart as did Camilla. There was lack of
eye contact.

Love the hymns

merlotgran Mon 09-Mar-20 15:28:33

Anthony Joshua's speech was very good.

I think Kate and Meghan both look lovely, as does Sophie.

A rather noticeable avoidance of eye contact from the three of them.

Anniebach Mon 09-Mar-20 15:27:32

All eyes on Megan ? The camera went on Megan, the people in the Abbey watched each couple as they walked .

Grany Mon 09-Mar-20 15:22:26

Harry and Meghan’s Big Funding Source Is Private. Sort of.
Prince Charles’s pledge to help support the couple as they forgo public funding has put a spotlight on his own sources of wealth, including a billion-pound real estate conglomerate.

Just watching the Commonwealth Service from the Abbey.
All eyes on H&M of course. All the royal ladies look very elegant, Sophie Wessex in white, Meghan in green, Catherine in crimson sort of red, Camilla navy, I think, and the Queen in airforce blue.
The interviewer was speaking to Alexandra Bourke who will be singing, interesting she referred to herself as black, not as a woman of colour.
H&M sitting next to Earl of Wessex, they chatted, but noticeable Sophie rather pointedly looked away and didn’t join in.
Meghan and Catherine both looked very stylish and beautiful.

I agree Eglantine. People read into things what they want to read.

Eglantine21 Mon 09-Mar-20 15:06:22

Well I was the one who commented that the lip plumping made me think of Julia Roberts. I thought it was ok to say that. Julia Roberts has always been noted for her smile, especially that fuller upper lip.

Pretty woman and any connotations around that never entered my head. Julia Roberts has been in loads more films . So if anyone took it any other way that was not the intention.

Neither was I criticising the lip plumping. I thought it was very well done. I’m not adverse to a little cosmetic work myself.

Summerlove Mon 09-Mar-20 14:25:03

ellianneYou forgot the assertion of “lip plumpers” to look more like Julia Roberts

Ellianne Mon 09-Mar-20 14:13:43

I don't normally comment when the going gets hot, but wrong Lucca, the earlier post was comparing the red dress to the one worn by Julia Roberts in PW, nothing to do with the character in the film.
Just like Kate's green dress was like the one worn by Belle in Beauty and the Beast.

If that is the case we ALL must have explaining to do to our children. Bridgeit Mon 09-Mar-20 13:11:15

And we do of course Bridgeit.

Thankfully, although they may go through a period where they judge us they usually forgive us for being human. Nothing has happened to Archie. All this nonsense has been conjured out of thin (very thin) air as a stick to beat Megan with.

The question I would ask is why so many on this thread feel the need to do this? Why do you want others to know that you believe, during an approaching pandemic, one small child's parents should have moved him from a comparatively safe environment through a very unsafe one?

And we can guess the bile that would have flowed if they had done that.

jura2 Mon 09-Mar-20 13:52:20

I am sure Archie will understand when he realises how awful his grandfather's behaviour has been.

Bridgeit Mon 09-Mar-20 13:11:15

They may move & move again ( as many do ) he is their child to brought up by them as they see fit, just like the rest of us.

Summerlove Mon 09-Mar-20 13:03:36

She will have to answer to Archie one day. Does she forget that with the internet all the media can be accessed?

They will explain it. both parents.

Why are you laying it at her feet?

pinkquartz Mon 09-Mar-20 13:01:15

jura2

why what did he do? Where's the forgiveness in this?

Lucca

?? why are you bringing this up? It is a great Roy Orbison record.

I think there is always the question of what you replace the monarchy with. It may go one day but I would be surprised to see it in my time.

Summerlove Mon 09-Mar-20 13:00:18

It wasn't gossip about M's dad being told he would not be seeing his own grandson...it came from him directly.

He’s never lied to the public to get sympathy ever, now has he?

I don’t see him as a reliable source, at all. He’s happy to admit he lies

GracesGranMK3 Mon 09-Mar-20 12:58:28

Agreed maddy. Grany's is a mystery to me and has to go down to "one of those things" I think.

Lucca Mon 09-Mar-20 12:55:00

I believe a post comparing Meghan to Pretty Woman has been deleted quite rightly.

jura2 Mon 09-Mar-20 12:54:46

if I had a dad who had behaved the way he did - he wouldn't be seeing his grandchildren, that is for sure.

Thanks to you GNetters for your support.

By the way I posted the question on Mumsnet. Would you vote to get rid of the monarchy? And got lots of replies

The vast majority would!

maddyone Mon 09-Mar-20 12:41:50

Incidentally my deleted post wasn’t a personal attack on a Gransnetter GG, it was an opinion of Meghan, but I’m still trying to be more careful.
