The audience of QT has always been packed with brexiters, some of whom are racists, but this week they sunk to a new low by posting a vile video of a racist rant online.

An edited BBC show? - Come on use your grey matter, folks.

Out of the whole filming they have selected her to create this. To what end?

What is the agenda of leftie Auntie Beeb?

You are all being manipulated as fools.

MaizieD Sat 22-Feb-20 11:48:30

Stupid people don't listen or change their minds when faced with fact. She was told the truth and refused to believe it.

The woman is stupid, as is everyone nodding along with her ignorant viewpoint.

'Opinions' based on lies have no validity...

I was taught at school that the population of the UK was almost 60million and that was in the 1960s. It's funny the official line hasn't shifted much since then.

Well, whoever taught you that was wrong. The graph on this Office of National Statistics page shows that the UK population didn't hit 60 million until 2005. I hope you do rather better with your quiz answers...

It's now over 66 million (as people have checked and noted on this thread)

Tweedle24 Sat 22-Feb-20 11:40:13

Kadinsky Well said.

“I disapprove of what you say but, defend to the death your right to say it”.

I can’t Give you an author for this as, apparently, there is dispute over the originator. Might be worth thinking about though

Yehbutnobut Sat 22-Feb-20 11:14:03

Uninformed, ignorant, racist twiddle.

Apologies for use of tautology.

quizqueen Sat 22-Feb-20 11:05:22

At last, a poster with some sense, Kandinsky. There's nothing racist about thinking there's too many people in this country. I was taught at school that the population of the UK was almost 60million and that was in the 1960s. It's funny the official line hasn't shifted much since then.

Greta Sat 22-Feb-20 11:04:17

Kandinsky: An opinion I’m certain millions of people agree with.

We do have to ask ourselves what has become of this country's reputation for tolerance. Has it been just a myth?

suziewoozie Sat 22-Feb-20 10:59:45

Kadinsky opinion based on lies are exactly that. And I can quite believe there are millions of uninformed people who agree with her. That’s the tragedy.

Kandinsky Sat 22-Feb-20 10:55:05

You’re not stupid, or racist, just because you have concerns over immigration.
It’s the lefts obsession with calling anyone stupid & racist just because they don’t agree with them that has contributed to brexit yes. The way the left reacted after the referendum was absolutely ridiculous.
And look at you now, still trying to silence anyone who has a different opinion. I didn’t see QT, but I can imagine what sort of things the woman concerned was saying.
Did she break any laws?
Or was she merely voicing an opinion?
An opinion I’m certain millions of people agree with.

The woman who has been employed to select the QT audience for more than twenty years is Alison Fuller Pedley who is a former member of UKIP and has "liked" and retweeted postings by the likes of Tommy Robinson and the EDL.

Even in parts of the country which was strongly pro-Remain, the audience has been packed with brextreemists. How has this ever been permitted?

MaizieD Sat 22-Feb-20 10:24:53

It’s attitudes like this that caused brexit & the current climate we now find ourselves in.

So, Brexit is the revenge of the stupid is it, Kandinsky?

Or are you referencing the attitude of the woman on bbcqt?

suziewoozie Sat 22-Feb-20 10:17:37

Call the attendance of all audience members is prearranged. There is a woman whose job it is to select them and many are not local but travel quite a long way. I’ll try and find a link

Kandinsky Sat 22-Feb-20 10:16:09

Banish them back to their filthy little lairs. No publicity, no air

It’s attitudes like this that caused brexit & the current climate we now find ourselves in.

On the same programme another ill informed audience member claimed that the recent floods in the UK were caused by the EU and this lie was allowed to go unchallenged

Callistemon Sat 22-Feb-20 09:22:36

MaizieD so, knowing that Ash was on the programme, this woman being there was obviously pre-arranged.

Callistemon Sat 22-Feb-20 09:21:25

Yes, they should have switched off her mike.
I wondered if they wanted to let her carry on to show herself up.

Yehbutnobut Sat 22-Feb-20 09:14:36

Those who defend this ranting woman are showing their true colours

Yehbutnobut Sat 22-Feb-20 09:13:18

“ We are ruled by a prime minister who has a history of racism and bigotry and who – quite unlike previous Conservative leaders – is idolised by far-right figures and movements, trashing the demarcation between centre-right and what lies beyond. Our national broadcaster uncritically pumping out racist rants is just another legitimisation of such bigotry. If we remain silent, the dial will shift further – and we may find that such beliefs become even more mainstream than they already are.”

Quote from today’s Guardian

MaizieD Sat 22-Feb-20 08:59:33

Bbcqt should have tweeted a longer clip. Here is the factual response from Ash Sarkar

mobile.twitter.com/AyoCaesar/status/1230626597734166533

(I wasn't really aware of Ash Sarkar but from doing a twitter search for her it seems that she is a RightWing hate figure. And boy, do they hate her...)

vampirequeen Sat 22-Feb-20 08:51:04

They should have switched the microphone off when they realised what she was saying and there is no excuse for tweeting.

GagaJo Sat 22-Feb-20 08:48:29

The more we allow racism a voice, on QT over Brexit, or in the right wing rags with MM, the more acceptable it becomes.

'We', aka the UK, need to revert to the loud NO we gave to racists prior to Brexit.

Having experienced living in the US, I used to be proud that the UK was less (not totally non) racist. Unfortunately, the links between Brexit and the extreme right wing of Farage and Steven Yaxley Lennon et al have made those that were previously aware their attitudes were unacceptable other than in their little coverns, feel they are agreed with by the general public.

Banish them back to their filthy little lairs. No publicity, no air.

suziewoozie Sat 22-Feb-20 00:08:45

Fiona Bruce shouldn’t have been stunned should she? She’s a highly paid ‘professional’ ?

Callistemon Fri 21-Feb-20 23:54:37

a bit to the right !!

I just got the impression that everyone was so stunned they didn't know what to say.
Then ignored her as an irrelevance.

I am very surprised to see that it has been tweeted.

suziewoozie Fri 21-Feb-20 23:51:57

Then that would be a high risk strategy wouldn’t it Call ? I’ve given up trying to understand what’s going on at the BBC now. But tweeting this was not a good look imo. Especially as it looks now as if she might be a bit to the right - a Tommy Robinson supporter - and at a time of a far right terrorist attack in Germany.

Callistemon Fri 21-Feb-20 23:44:10

Oh dear
Why?

Because they thought it was so shocking they wanted to show her up?

suziewoozie Fri 21-Feb-20 23:42:05

The BBC used the full clip on its Twitter page so enabling her balanced, informed, thoughtful, comments to be shared and enjoyed by so many more. Jolly well done BBC.
