LOL . Of course. I value the NHS EVEN MORE now I am paying hundreds every month for Swiss health insurance!

It does make your eyes water - for sure. People have NO idea how expensive private health care is- even more so if you are over 60 and with pre-exisiting conditions. In fact older people with pre-exisiting conditions are just flatly refused and end up with NO insurance at all in places like the USA.

At least in Switzerland, basic health insurance cannot be refused on the grounds of pre-exisiting conditions.

Ever since OH's 65th birthday, we have been exempt- via Form S1- as we are retirees from UK with no Swiss pension or income. Hurrah.
