Travelling to work I pass what was once, a lovely children's playground complete with pirate ship, swings and slides all sympathetically designed to fit in with the surroundings.
It was recently reported in the local news that part of this had been "set on fire and destroyed" which has resulting in closure. Being a deprived area of the country I doubt there will be any money to rebuild.
Having seen it with my own eyes this morning I cannot for the life of me see what anyone would get out of destroying it?
The chances of catching whoever did it (probably local youths) are negligible, but what to do if they did catch them?
"Now, now, that was naughty...…but you are deprived, so would you like a trip to the local go kart centre" ?
Perhaps making them pay to fix it /rebuild it, might be the way forward. No matter how old they are and if it takes 20 years to pay for it then so be it.
What do others think?
Please help! (grandchild being locked in bedroom)
Voting. I’m so glad we still have the ‘old fashioned’ system…
