I'm astonished that they stop so suddenly like that. Hundreds of people are stranded in the UK and abroad. Surely there is a way to continue with flights that have been booked for at least a week to enable people to reach their destinations.

I'm booked to go to Ireland with Flybe next month, so it looks like I will have to hire a rowing boat.
I'm really sorry for all the staff who are losing their jobs.
It's a friendly airline and I've flown with them many times. They will be missed.

the combination of the two will be even more devastating

Greta Thunberg, Harry, Meg, et al will soon be able to put their feet up and cease complaining campaigning.

The way things are going the skies will soon be a lot emptier. Only the rich and famous in their private jets will be able to travel.

Cruise ships will be feeling the pinch as well. Mind you, nothing in the world would get me on a floating prison with thousands of other people but each to their own.

I feel for small businesses. Life is a struggle for a lot of them without Coronavirus clobbering them. sad

And people were worried about Brexit?
This virus will cause 1000x more economic damage, as well as Ill health.
I bet some people now wish brexit was all they had to worry about.

Yes, it will hit any struggling business won’t it, especially an airline or airport shop.
Flybe has been doing badly for a while but this virus is the ‘final nail’.
The High St will soon be hit too, sadly, cinemas, theatres, pubs and cafes. The ones doing well and ‘chains’ will ride it out but indie ones may close altogether. It’s a real problem
For economies across the world.

Collapsed Flybe tells passengers not to travel to airports

I saw that Flybe, who has been struggling for some time to survive, has today collapsed, 2000 people to lose their jobs and all flights suspended. We haven't had as many confirmed Coronavirus incidents as other countries and yet, already, it's impacted on an airline. Wonder how many more this will be the final straw for in an already difficult market?
