will WE learn any thing from the rcent hot weather?

With wet winters and hot summers being the normal in the future
I would imagine that most gardeners,would have their water issues sorted.
Its the drinking water than causes me concern,its a shame that tap water cannot to the be stored in a fridge to be used a few weeks later.
I was also told treat water like food as regards to its use by date.
