To "Deal with personal matters at home"

This man is a dangerous fool .Maybe somebody can tell me WHY he's PM whe he neither wants or accepts the responsibility of the job !

Every country is different though. England has a massive population for its size. Maybe the most densely populated in Europe ( I think the Netherlands may be similar). London is massive compared to places like Rome, Paris, Berlin. We can see from the daily graphs that London followed by The Midlands and the North West have many more cases than the less populated areas. If we do end up having the worse figures in Europe surely this will be a major factor. No government can change this.

As far as I am aware no one in need of a ventilator has failed to get one in the UK. In Italy and Spain doctors were having to make choice about who got a ventilator.

I think this government (guided by top scientists) have done the best it could. We can all be experts in hindsight. We can now say those who allowed the race meeting at Cheltenham or those who went skiing at half term were wrong. Looking back no one should have been leaving the country or gathering in large groups.

No one could have foreseen this.

Well the U.K. is on track to be doing the worst in Europe for CV so we are leading the way there,

vegansrock Sun 19-Apr-20 17:30:28

Why does everyone assume that Boris critics are Labour Party supporters?

Whitewavemark2 Sun 19-Apr-20 17:28:19

Who is unelectable? I had no idea that we had someone on GN that was hoping to stand for parliament

Sussexborn Sun 19-Apr-20 17:10:17

Political point scoring is idiotic particularly as there is not even a remote sign of a credible opposition and unlikely to be in the foreseeable future. Labour members seem to hate each other even more than they hate Boris. Doesn’t that give you a clue why you are unelectable? Who wants such a hate filled party running things?

Whitewavemark2 Sun 19-Apr-20 16:00:28

I thought you thought sovereignty wasn’t important?

Whitewavemark2 Sun 19-Apr-20 15:59:44

jabberwok yes because we live here and our families are being directly affected by this incompetent government.

Jabberwok Sun 19-Apr-20 15:55:59

Europe and Europe's governments haven't done that well either! (Not sure we've hear much from eastern countries..) Or is it only the UK that is constantly criticised?!

vegansrock Sun 19-Apr-20 15:54:45

It’s amazing his fans still find excuses for him.

FarNorth Sun 19-Apr-20 15:45:49

I think that thousands of tragic deaths are now inevitable.
Even the UK Government's belated attempts to deal with the situation are pathetic.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 19-Apr-20 15:35:32

sharon I would have agreed 3 weeks ago as I was content to wait for this incompetent government to show its metal and buck up after such a shaky start which caused thousands of unnecessary deaths.

It hasn’t - and I am not prepared to allow this to continue without drawing attention to the shortcomings.

To not do so may result in even more tragic deaths.

sharon103 Sun 19-Apr-20 15:28:08

I totally agree with M0nica and lemongrove.

This is not the time for political scoring.

Harris27 Sun 19-Apr-20 15:15:15

It’s just a shambles don’t know how it will end sadly I think. So sorry for all of the people who’ve suffered and will continue to suffer over this.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 19-Apr-20 15:13:27

To reply as you have done, confirms my opinion

Jabberwok Sun 19-Apr-20 15:06:42

I think we do and he's not! Since the war, apart from Margaret Thatcher and Tony Blair, this country has been beset by incompetent, weak vasilating leaders from both parties! Boris is no worse than all, and he could well prove to be better than some!

Callistemon Sun 19-Apr-20 15:04:34

Presumably a small cog in a very large machine Jabberwok

lemongrove Sun 19-Apr-20 15:02:11

the PM does not need to chair Cobra meetings all the time.

lemongrove Sun 19-Apr-20 15:01:31

aren't doing too badly, not are, though it may not be perfect.

Nandalot Sun 19-Apr-20 15:00:48

He is Prime Minister and therefore I am shocked that he did not attend five Cobra meetings when the scale of this pandemic was clear. It reinforces my opinion of him that he likes the limelight but is not so keen on the detail and the work. There is no point comparing him to anyone in any of the other parties as they are not in power. We have the right to expect our Prime Minister to always put the country first and not take the weekend off at a time of national emergency.

lemongrove Sun 19-Apr-20 14:59:29

Every single government we have from any Party manages some things well, some things not so well and a few things badly. That goes for Blair and all past Labour governments as well as Conservative ones.
So far, this government in a matter of months has had Brexit to deal with, winter floods and now coronavirus. They are doing too badly in my view, especially just having had an ill PM.

lemongrove Sun 19-Apr-20 14:55:52

Monica good post ...they can't get over it though, it eats away at them.grin

Whitewavemark2 Sun 19-Apr-20 14:52:08

For those who think that Johnson is no better or worse than every other PM, I would respectfully like to suggest that they don’t know their history.

Jabberwok Sun 19-Apr-20 14:45:03

Callistemon! eeek! I gather that NZ is happy with the monarchy too, so double eeeek! A slight shadow over this faultless P.M!

Callistemon Sun 19-Apr-20 10:27:29

Many people loathed Blair and some of his policies, Franbern, particularly Corbyn supporters.
However, Jacinda Ardern was a policy adviser to Blair who, although disliked by some, was electable.

Interesting.

Callistemon Sun 19-Apr-20 10:23:48

The reason we have Boris with his faults as PM is because most of the population, whichever party they normally voted for, could see that the alternative was worse.

Perhaps if the LP can stop their infighting, we may get a credible Opposition now.
