Do you really think that Jenny McGee and Luis Patarma, 2 dedicated and well respected nurses were lying about who they they cared for and why? You should be utterly ashamed of yourself Niobe.

We know he isn't interested in crisis management, he didn’t attend Cobra meeting till 5 weeks after the virus had entered the U.K. Fan club members can make excuses all they like, but it’s indefensible really. He didn’t take it seriously, with all that take it on the chin, it’ll all be over in 12 weeks, Operation Last Gasp nonsense. Let’s hope he takes it seriously now, but there aren’t any hopeful signs. Trouble is, we are being so gaslighted into believing its all the fault of someone else, and it’s all fine really, we don’t know what to believe.

The current scenario COVID-19 aside is the culmination of a lack of sound political leadership over the last 20 years or so. The last Tory leader of any substance was John Major, for labour Tony Blair. If you look at the Liberal Democrats Nick Clegg was in hindsight genuine but he trusted David Cameron to act with integrity, Vince Cable had leadership qualities but his age went against him. So how does the country get out of the current mess.

The Conservative Party needs to look to people like Rory Stewart, Anna Soubery, Dominic Grieve, Jeremy Hunt and David Gaulke, to several of whom they denied the whip. Boris Johnson is the worst possible option they could have chosen as leader even more since he effectively delegated much of his trole to Dominic Cummings.

The Labour Party appears to have seen the errors of their ways but too late. Kier Starmer is promising but untried.

The Liberal Democrats need to regroup probably under Ed Davey but they are doomed unless the electoral system changes.

As for Nigel Farage and Donald Trump they rabble roused their countries into disasterous populism with no thought for sound governance. In the interests of humanity their days of influence have to be numbered.

I realised this a when I saw a Documentary following Boris as Foreign Secretary. He was sitting on the plane dozing, (as they were off to a meeting) and his staff were doing all the work, and telling him what he should and should not do or say.

I am glad he is now recovering as I would not wish this Virus on anyone. I just do not think he is the best man to be our PM.

It starts to explain the extraordinary slow response from the government. Nobody does anything without his say so and he wasn't interested. He was also not seen in public for 10 days in February. Now we are set on this site course with so many opportunities lost and people paying with their lives.

Doesn’t take long for the knives to be out. Only a few days ago everyone seemed to be so relieved when he came out of intensive care, then allowed home to recuperate.

An item on the News the other night showed a nurse/health care worker who a fortnight before had been in tears, on oxygen, struggling to breathe and speak, hospitalised with CV, but wanting to make others realise they had to stay at home. Thankfully, she recovered and had been home for nearly a week, but said it was the first day she had felt anything like ‘normal’.

So if Boris needs time to get well and ready to lead the country through this dreadful crisis, I think he should be entitled to that.

Grany Not enough agreed with you. Corbyn was worse than useless during the Brexit debate. He sat on the fence because he has always been anti EU.

They can promise to do anything for the NHS but they are not in power so it means nothing. They can't grow a magic PPE tree either. There is a world shortage of the stuff.

I voted Jeremy Corbyn a decent leader and for first time became a member of Labour because of J Corbyn as did thousands of others.
