It does, and unless people make a stand, we have to play along and pretend we believe all this rubbish.
ALPHABETICAL FOOD AND DRINK (Jan 26)
🦞 The Lockdown Gang still chatting 🦞
News breaking tonight that Dominic Cummings and his wife, when ill with Covid-19, put their child in the car and drove 260 miles from London to Durham so that they could isolate at his parent's place and his parents look after the child. This happened some time after 27th March. Remember lockdown was imposed on 23rd March.
Seen in his parent's garden with his child on 5th April.
Neil Fergusson resigned because his lover visited his house after lockdown.
Scotland's Chief Medical Officer had to resign after visiting her second home twice after lockdown.
Cummings and his wife drive 260 miles to stay with his parents (who must be in their 60s at the very least)... What will he do?

Story is in most of the MSM now.
It does, and unless people make a stand, we have to play along and pretend we believe all this rubbish.
I don't like witch hunts either Rosalyn, which is why I rarely contribute to witch hunt-type threads. I judge people on their actions and the consequences and repercussions of those actions.
My personal opinion is that Cummings is odious, but if he were doing good work, his character wouldn't bother me that much. I am deeply concerned about the outcomes for accountability, responsibility and transparency - and democracy itself - as a direct result of this incident and his previous behaviour.
But … but … his parents apparently looked after the child the whole time. Allegedly, his grandparents and his aunt didn't even see him.
I agree. Why didn't the aunt travel to London? Doesn't the family have a nanny? Why did Mrs Cummings not mention any of this in her emotional article in the Spectator? She gave the clear impression that she looked after her husband and child. No mention of any involvement of grandparents or aunt. She even claimed that her husband should probably have been admitted to hospital. In that case, why move out of London, where some of the best facilities were on their doorstep?
Is it really likely that Durham Police lied?
The whole thing stinks.
I’m not one for witch hunts but for once I think this odious man needs to be sacked. He is beyond arrogant.
Obviously (according to some posters on here), the DM is full of leftie Remoaners!
It is not a "witch hunt" - it is an important breach of the rules that has gone unpunished, and undermines the safety of all of us, if people start to say they can do it if he can. Sacking him would have sent a clear message that no-one is above the rules, or indeed the law.
Wow! Even the DM is against him.
also read the child is autistic so it’s obvious cummins would only want a known person to help look after him
His wife has family in London I guess he will know them. Also he must have childcare in London while his parents are at work what about them.? If for some reason it has to be the sister who lives Durham why didn't she travel to London. Much less risky for a child than a 5 hour journey in a car with someone with covid symptons.

A word of support for #RobinLees, an ordinary member of the public currently being smeared and threatened by bots and extremist Johnsonistas for the crime of exposing Cummings’s arrogant rule-breaking.
There are some b....ds out there.
Robert Halfon, the Conservative MP for Harlow, has tweeted that Cummings should "face the consequences" for his actions (not quite sure what that means).
I don't normally get angry, Gardenof England but I am incensed over this.
It is not a witch hunt.
If you cannot see the reasons that people feel as they do, even just by reading posts on here, then perhaps you never will.
People have missed their families, not been with loved ones when they died, missed their funerals, taken care to adhere to guidelines and the Act of Parliament while he who was instrumental in formulating those rules thinks they do not apply to him.
Are you a new poster btw?
Welcome to GN.
He won't resign but he should. I can not express how angry I feel about it
I disliked him before because he is a terrible bully. But this is something else.
Do many families have had to look after their children while ill with much less support than he has available in London and with much less money too. He clearly broke the rules and the spirit of the rules.
The rest of the world are watching this fiasco too. Embarrassed to be British? Oh did I laugh at Trump with the bleach and UV light suggestions. Now the 'poundland Trump' is making a fool of himself (and taking the public as mugs) it's too close to home - and not that funny.
My life certainly isn't enlightened. What a strange idea!
What bothers me a great deal about this is that Johnson has probably lost a huge amount of authority. If we get a resurgence of C19 cases and deaths he will have huge difficulty in reimposing stricter lockdown measures, if he can do it all.
It wouldn't be any good him sternly telling us to 'Stay at Home' again because few people would believe he really meant it. We basically have no government..If this were mumsnet I'd say 'we're truly fcuked aren't we?'
Why?
My goodness what is wrong with you people that your lives are enlightened by this witch hunt, this is not Germany 1939. The man may have done wrong but this is ridiculous.
If the female walker, who spoke to him at Houghall Woods on the 19th April, steps forward and gives an interview, or makes a police statement, along with Robin Lees who has started the police complaint, I reckon it's irrefutable evidence.
Only seven. Not enough. Yet.
I hope they do, having been called liars.
UPDATED: 7 Tory MPs have now called for Cummings to go:
-Steve Baker
-Simon Hoare
-Damian Collins
-Sir Roger Gale
-Sir Peter Bone
-Caroline Nokes
-Craig Whittaker
Quite a few people in tweets dated 10 & 11th May remarking that they had seen Cummings in Durham.
Wonder what that little trip was for. He seems to spend quite some time driving up and down the A1. Can't keep away..
Also a number of tweets by people who have reported him to the Durham Constabulary..
And, apparently, the car he drives has a GPS system which connects to a database held by the manufacturers. So its movements can be pinpointed for any date.
And, of course, his mobile will hold data on his movements..
I'm sure the police will check all this..
