No grips are being got here.
Give them enough rope and they'll hang themselves, but sadly there will be other casualties.

MayBee70 Thu 28-May-20 17:56:16

He always was Trump. It’s just that the mask has dropped.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 28-May-20 17:53:24

Johnson has become Trump??

Galaxy Thu 28-May-20 17:52:08

No I wont get a grip, how stupid are people?

Fennel Thu 28-May-20 17:49:09

Starmer is responding from a position of strength.
As someone else said, maybe he's giving our 'leaders' enough rope to hang themselves.
Having said that, he has a long way to go before getting the support of the traditional LP member, and the public.

Wow. Boris Johnson bans CMO Chris Whitty and CSA Sir Patrick Vallance from giving their opinions on Dominic Cummings’ lockdown activities. Now we know why they were abruptly sent home from No10 on Monday instead of doing the press conference.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 28-May-20 17:46:36

Led by science unless they may say something inconvenient.

It isn’t political at all, it is a matter of public health

MayBee70 Thu 28-May-20 17:46:25

I can’t believe what I’m watching. This is disgraceful. And the scientific advisors are going along with it. Even refusing to answer the question about driving to test your eyesight.

Oopsminty Thu 28-May-20 17:39:24

Oh my god. Johnson is not letting the scientists speak to the press. It's like 1984. Its frightening.

Did you not hear what the scientist said about that?

They are not interested nor do they want to discuss politics.

So no.

It's not like 1984 and it's not frightening.

Get a grip

Boris effectively silencing Whitty and Vallance. Unbelievable. This really is banana republic stuff. The CMO and CSO should be embarrassed

Whitewavemark2 Thu 28-May-20 17:37:14

This

Whitewavemark2 Thu 28-May-20 17:36:31

??????? nod your head. Wonderful

So there we have it.

Starmer has responded, not by tweeting for days about Johnson, and making demands while the Tories damaged themselves - but by pouncing at the right moment, with a message far more devastating - that Johnson is weak.

This is how Blair destroyed John Major.

Boris Johnson should have drawn a line under the Dominic Cummings saga but was too weak to act.

The public have sacrificed so much for the health of our nation - which he's now undermined.

And sent a message that there's one rule for them and another for the British people.

MayBee70 Thu 28-May-20 16:50:06

That's what I heard growstuff; he said so on tv the other day. I don't recall hearing that he'd been lying about it. Does Jabberwock have a link to what exactly he has done wrong?

growstuff Thu 28-May-20 16:45:51

Blackford returned from the Commons to his home on Skye, which he represents as an MP, and has been self-isolating away from his wife, who has a medical condition.

And don’t ask me about deadlines for anything because I’m forbidden from stating any as I’m a naughty little boy

Happygirl79 Thu 28-May-20 15:50:02

Our government is corrupt
Boris says enough and move on from tbe DC saga to us all and to do our civic duty
He says no point in bothering with an enquiry into the DC affair.. A waste of time.
No real explanation for us just do as I say not as I do

Wheniwasyourage Thu 28-May-20 15:29:54

Well, I've found that the only bit of good news this week - in among the unbelievable mess that Messrs Cummings and Johnson have made of this country and society - is that our MP had the integrity and guts to resign as Minister at the Scotland Office quickly. I had thought that he was pretty feeble, and I am not a Tory voter, but I was pleased by his actions. The government may not care, but it was good to see that at least one junior minister had some courage!

Whitewavemark2 Thu 28-May-20 14:56:23

Cummings 260 miles - written just for you maybe???

youtu.be/20eV4z4h4oE

MayBee70 Thu 28-May-20 14:52:06

Did Blackford drive 260 miles and then drive 60 miles afterwards? And did he drive the first 260 miles with someone who should have been self isolating at home? And did he leave someone who showed Covid 19 symptoms and then go back to work instead of self isolating himself? And then go to a hospital whilst supposedly suffering from the virus?

Whitewavemark2 Thu 28-May-20 14:51:33

I didn’t realise Ian Blackford drew up the law that he apparently broke???

Ilovecheese Thu 28-May-20 14:32:46

You mean Ian Blackford drove 30 miles to test his eyesight with a four year old in the car?
Then no it is certainly not time to move on.
