Can you think of a Prime Minister worse than Johnson?

I don’t mean whether you agree with certain political policies, I am talking about competence, knowledge and integrity.

I truthfully can’t think of a single one.

All PMs have a weakness, no doubt but this goes beyond anything I’ve every seen or read.

I'm not seriously telling you that at all, Jabberwok. I am challenging your pulled out of the air figure of the Iraq war causing 'millions of deaths'. It isn't 'common knowledge, it's hyperbole to further blacken an already damaged reputation.

I suggest you look up the figures

Just enjoyed 2hours and 40 minutes of
'nostalgia politics' with The National's 'This House'. Excellent. Catch it on Youtube if you have time.

Theresa May, Edward Heath, Harold McMillan, Douglas Hume,

Happy is the country with no history -

Jabberwok Thu 28-May-20 16:52:58

Are you seriously telling me that you know nothing of the illegal war in Iraq, know nothing of the suffering of the Iraqi people , know nothing of the overthrow Of Saddam, (he was Iraq's President) the death of Dr Kelly, the dodgy dossier in the H of C , and the subsequent deaths of millions of people caused by this illegal war both armed forces and civilians perpetrated by Bush and his poodle Blair which has been the cause of so much misery in the Middle East. If you are really ignorant of this event then Google is your best bet, its all there!

Andrew Bonar Law in terms of long term damage to country - he halted mass exit of Conservatives to form Liberal party ?

Glorybee Thu 28-May-20 16:48:56

“Go and look it up. Then come back and tell me. with references, how many people died.” Wow, bossy much! ?

MaizieD Thu 28-May-20 16:47:39

I think he looks sick with worry because he's stuffed up and doesn't know what to do next. I don't think that Dom's plans will be that effective. After all, they haven't exactly been a roaring success so far. 60,000 dead and rising, with the prospect of a second wave in a week or two..

MaizieD Thu 28-May-20 16:43:34

I think that is common knowledge?!!!

Common knowledge is a dangerous thing to depend on, Jabberwok. Go and look it up. Then come back and tell me. with references, how many people died.

growstuff Thu 28-May-20 16:38:33

He's a new father. Maybe he could take the child to his or his partner's parents.

luluaugust Thu 28-May-20 16:29:42

I'm not sure he is one of the worst but I do think he is one of the sickest now like Eden. He looks exhausted to me.

growstuff Thu 28-May-20 16:21:15

Let's see what havoc Johnson and Raab do in foreign affairs before anybody criticises Blair.

IMO Johnson is without a shadow of a doubt the worst PM I can remember. I include Thatcher in that. I hated her policies and values, but at least nobody could deny her leadership qualities.

Brown didn't sell our gold reserves for a pittance. He sold them when the prices were rising, but should have waited longer. Holding gold reserves in a modern economy, when the currency is stable, isn't a sensible thing to do because there isn't much you can do with them.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 28-May-20 16:12:57

elliegran ????

growstuff Thu 28-May-20 16:11:47

Is that a spoof Elliegran? I can't believe that anybody could have written that in all seriousness.

MissAdventure Thu 28-May-20 16:09:16

grin

Elliegran Thu 28-May-20 16:08:29

Boris Johnson is the man we need for Prime Minister at the moment. He is doing a good job in very difficult circumstances whilst recovering from Covid19. It's a shame a few people and the media cannot give him more credit. Well done Boris.

Happygirl79 Thu 28-May-20 15:55:48

Yes without doubt he is the worst PM in living memory

Happygirl79 Thu 28-May-20 15:55:01

BJ doesn't even bother to try to hide his in aptitudes
He is uncaring and unable to understand why we won't just do as we are told. He thinks we are all brainless a d can't think for ourselves
He is laughing at us all
Unless our MPs step up we are screwed

Anniebach Thu 28-May-20 15:23:29

Corbyn did do much to help Johnson gain the job

Whitewavemark2 Thu 28-May-20 15:20:29

Wow I had no idea that Corbyn had been prime minister!! I missed that entirely

Roni Thu 28-May-20 15:19:39

I agree. Johnson & Cummings bend rules to suit them.

cupaffull Thu 28-May-20 15:18:15

And though GB has many sterling qualities, he led the way in the Financial Crisis. But he sold our gold reserves for a pittance. So no one is perfect.

cupaffull Thu 28-May-20 15:16:20

Yes Corbyn......completely ineffectual among other things. Blair.... an out and out liar.
Given it takes months for a person to recover after a stay in ICU, we have to accept the PM is still unwell. He's certainly out of step with the public as regards DC.

Gordon Brown has been on the radio quite a lot over the past few weeks and I’ve been incredibly impressed with the advice that he’s been giving. Clear, concise, sensible, forward thinking.
