Can you think of a Prime Minister worse than Johnson?

I don’t mean whether you agree with certain political policies, I am talking about competence, knowledge and integrity.

I truthfully can’t think of a single one.

All PMs have a weakness, no doubt but this goes beyond anything I’ve every seen or read.

Yes, Whitewave and it is scary. I have paid attention because it matters to me, but I think most folk would not even realise what has been going on under the radar.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 10-Jun-20 17:59:42

God knows! 4 more long destructive years. Have you been following the brexit stuff?

varian Wed 10-Jun-20 17:51:00

But how on earth do we get rid of this totally, criminally incompetent "Vote Leave" government?????

westendgirl Wed 10-Jun-20 16:40:24

I really do think we deserve better than this present end of the pier show, led by a P.M who definitely can't be bothered to prepare for anything. This is evident in his appearances at P.M questions, in the way we have had many instances of change of direction , in the dismal record so far .
Nothing to be proud of there.

??? a load of dangerous w....s!

A load of w*****s?

Professor Neil Ferguson’s exact words

"The epidemic was doubling every three to four days before lockdown interventions were introduced. So had we introduced lockdown measures a week earlier, we would have then reduced the final death toll by at least a half."

Whitewavemark2 Wed 10-Jun-20 16:13:05

Not apparently to the government though furret so what does that make them?

Furret Wed 10-Jun-20 16:03:48

It hardly needed confirmation by a professor though did it? Anyone with a modicum of understanding was aghast that huge public gatherings like the Cheltenham Festival, football matches etc went ahead and staying indoors was only hinted at.

Surely this was obvious to even the thickest?

Whitewavemark2 Wed 10-Jun-20 15:50:29

So Johnson, by delaying lockdown for a week is responsible for at least 25000 deaths.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 10-Jun-20 15:49:01

Professor Neil Ferguson tells
@CommonsSTC
that if we had introduced lockdown measures a week earlier we would have reduced the final death toll by at least a half.

maizie some people are so witty!
?

Couldn’t bring himself to criticise Trump.

I thought Johnson wanted sovereignty and freedom to plough his own furrow? He clearly is unable to as he is so desperate for any sort of trade agreement from Trump before November, as after that date Trump may not be there and it is highly doubtful that a democratic President will put the U.K. before the Eu

MaizieD Wed 10-Jun-20 12:42:35

He did have a plan, followed it faithfully:

From the FT yesterday grin

Lucca Wed 10-Jun-20 12:39:15

Or just be honest (?!) and say it is really nigh on impossible to have a firm plan

Whitewavemark2 Wed 10-Jun-20 12:38:34

Why we are in such a mess

Whitewavemark2 Wed 10-Jun-20 12:34:01

The Tories must dread PMQs.

Yet another car crash for Johnson. He tried to lie his way out of the accusation that he has no clear plan for the return of schools but Starmer would have none of it and brought him up sharp.

Johnson has been criticised by various committees for having no clear plan based on scientific evidence regarding the relaxing of the lockdown rules.

It seems listening to him whiffle on that he seems to think if he says plan often enough he can convince us that he has one.

In case anyone thinks that Mathew Parris was ever a leftie.

" In 1984, Parris, at the time a freshly elected Tory MP flushed with enthusiasm for the Thatcherdom, agreed to try living for a week in a Newcastle bedsit on £26.80, the supplementary benefit paid to a single unemployed man.

For the Benefit of Mr Parris, a World in Action documentary that drew a record 13 million viewers, showed "the comfortable Tory MP for West Derbyshire", as Julian Barnes called him in an Observer review, informing an audience of Tory ladies that unemployment "should be uncomfortable", in order to sharpen the appetites of the jobless for work.

Since the government of which he was a member had just cut benefits by 5% and was presiding – as Parris himself wrote – "over an economy in which whole forests of jobs in manufacturing were falling to the monetarist axe", a lot of people wanted to see how he would survive his week. He didn't."
(from an article in The Guardian after Ian Duncan Smith pretended he would be able to survive on JSA.)

Conservative through and through, but now seeing through Boris Johnson

Along with Mexico, Johnson has the lowest approval rating in the world for the management of covid

Whitewavemark2 Sun 07-Jun-20 06:10:28

Johnson now has a real balancing act to achieve (some hope).

The economy is tanking because of covid.

It will tank even further after December.

The two together will bring disaster onto our heads, so he must try and get the economy moving before December in the hope that Some of the appalling results will be mitigated.

The question is - can this be done without further deaths and the answer of course is no.

Question

How can this be done but blame not attached to government?

Answer

Blame the stupid population of course! Nothing to see here.

This one reason people don't believe what the government says:
