There are 1000’s of protesters in Hyde Park as I post this, no social distancing.

When in two to three weeks time the UK Covid-19 figures go up and more people die these protesters will be responsible!

What I am saying is that the U.K. has one of the highest death rates in the world, and it appears that you are prepared to blame the U.K. population for this.

To do so implies that we have one of the most ill disciplined populations in the world, which of course is rubbish.

Our population behaves no differently to any other in the world, except that we are leaderless with a government no one can respect .

What has gone on outside Mr Cummings house in the past few weeks was totally illegal, but again the Police seemed powerless! More like traffic wardens!

They interviewed a 91 year old war veteran today on the radio I didn’t catch his name but he was aN advocate of peace he advised any young person to not go in the army to end up killing people then the interviewer asked him if it had been possible would he be at the protest marches and he said ‘yes of course I would’
I suppose he’s an idiot too
Our local protesters have all worn masks and stood two meters apart
There have been huge rallies all over the world USA France all over Europe Australia the aborigines are finding a voice Canada Ireland Netherlands were absolutely crammed everywhere....... it’s a global rally It can’t be stopped

Like I said, I expect they think they're entitled! How could the authorities have stopped it? there would have been a riot, and will be if they try to in the future Same with beauty spots. Bringing in the army? Imagine the outcry? In other words unfortunately the government are powerless to prevent large gatherings doing exactly as they please. All they can do is appeal to them not to! Laws that can't be enforced often lead to a break down in law and order which in turn leads to a free for all! As you say maddyone it is a very worrying state of affairs particularly when encouraged by a prominent opposition ex shadow minister.

Looking at the video footage there are an awful lot of BAME protesters and they are particularly vulnerable to Covid so they will have to take responsibility for taking into their family homes, workplaces and communities.

Imagine wanting to make sure people knew your lives were important.

Maybe they should just leave that to white people and all will be safe.

Oh wait...

GrannyGravy13 Sat 06-Jun-20 18:17:47

*naddyone^ Cressida Dick has already stated that the police will not stop the protesters due to concerns of unrest big mistake she should go as should Sadiq Khan both are responsible for policing London.

I am not sure that there would be much support for the Armed Forces on our streets.

I am off GN for this evening a nice chilled white wine is waiting whilst MR.GG13 cooks dinner ?‍♀️

So all that’s happening today is acceptable

Whitewavemark2 Sat 06-Jun-20 18:13:59

OK will there be a rise in covid because of gathering of large numbers of people.

Of course there will be.

We saw that after Liverpool football match, Cheltenham and a pop music gathering. Something the government knew very likely to happen but chose to go into lockdown after these events.

Anniebach Sat 06-Jun-20 18:13:37

I am concerned for the police officers and their families , some
protesters are removing their masks to shout at officers.

maddyone Sat 06-Jun-20 18:09:29

Yes, the authorities in the UK are responsible for allowing this dangerous protest to go ahead. The point is that many more people, black and white, are likely to die as a direct result of this stupid behaviour. The protesters are breaking the law. The authorities, which means the police, should not allow this dangerous behaviour. If necessary, the army should have been brought in. Civil liberties are not more important than people’s lives, and at the moment it appears that civil liberties are trumping people’s lives. The whole thing is a disgrace.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 06-Jun-20 18:08:28

When you answer mine on the protesters.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 06-Jun-20 18:05:06

And my question?

GrannyGravy13 Sat 06-Jun-20 18:04:30

I have never been a Boris fan girl and have repeatedly posted that fact since before the election!

GrannyGravy13 Sat 06-Jun-20 18:02:38

* Flocking

Whitewavemark2 Sat 06-Jun-20 18:01:47

So are the Johnson fans all saying that the people in the U.K. are responsible for the mishandling of covid.

If so can they please explain how it is that the U.K. population is one of the worse disciplined in the world.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 06-Jun-20 18:01:46

If 15,000 gather in close proximity whilst there is a worldwide pandemic of course they must take responsibility.

Flicking to beaches and beauty spots and not social distancing yep they have to take responsibility.

The guidelines are available for all to read millions are not confused by them and gave no problem complying.

Jabberwok Sat 06-Jun-20 17:57:09

Perhaps they think theyre entitled to behave as they please. Looking at the litter left at beauty spots presumably for someone else to clear up, it would seem to point to that. In Japan, one of the first things children are taught is to keep their own things tidy, respect others and work hard, same in African countries ! Think of the outcry if we tried to do that here!!

Whitewavemark2 Sat 06-Jun-20 17:56:48

No Cummings rant from me, I don’t need to you are more than aware of the argument.

Orangerose Sat 06-Jun-20 17:52:12

Uh oh GG13. I feel another DC rant coming on from a certain poster. You are totally right by the way.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 06-Jun-20 17:51:37

So you are saying that various groups in the U.K. are responsible for the level of deaths in the U.K.?

GrannyGravy13 Sat 06-Jun-20 17:48:02

No WWMK2 if people act against the guidelines they have to take full responsibility for their actions and the consequences.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 06-Jun-20 17:43:26

No you can’t get away with that gg13* I was merely reflecting on what you are suggesting in your posts

GrannyGravy13 Sat 06-Jun-20 17:41:46

Why is it only the left leaning of the UK that constantly mock and berate UK citizens?

Whitewavemark2 Sat 06-Jun-20 17:36:09

I wonder why the people in the U.K. are amongst the worst behaved in the world?

Very odd that

Whitewavemark2 Sat 06-Jun-20 17:33:42

I rest my case.
