I think he was a bit unfair to three toed sloths! His autobiography is very entertaining and I really enjoyed his book about the Victorians. He doesn't suffer fools gladly so our current band of idiots must be a constant irritation.
Evoha16 I cannot think of a better word to describe this government. The whole lot are useless and have proved it on so may counts. I cannot imagine what will happen to the country in the next four years.
I love Paxman . He is intelligent, literate and on the ball. He’s written several books and has always been a good interviewer. I also love University Challenge and never miss it.
On another point I am a Tory voter and am very disappointed in Boris . It annoys me to admit that the government has been lack lustre in a situation where they needed to be top form
I always liked his style. He so rarely, if ever, let politicians get away with not answering the question - no matter how many times they tried to slither around it like an oiled snake.
If it takes an irascible type to do that, so be it.
At least he’s literate, intelligent and competent. Why should his age have anything to with it. Hardly left leaning either !! However what he does do is recognise a poor government when he’s see it regardless of his political views which I wish a lot more people would do instead of blindly backing Boris purely because he’s a Tory.
Another left leaning commentator. Paxman way past his prime thinks he knows all the answers because he is used to having them written down in front of him!
I agree that, for the most part he's almost become a caricature of an irascible old man but he's still got a fire in his belly where highlighting political failures and hypocrisy is evident. And he's not far off the mark in his summation of the current incumbents.
