Just keep it zipped

I know that I am not the queen Annie but I trust the queen to decide what is right for her.

Anniebach Tue 29-Sept-20 21:00:22

But you are not the Queen varian you only have to think of
what is right for you.

If we were in our nineties, we might decide that it is better to hug them now, in spite of the risk.

It is a case of balancing quantity and quality of life.

I do agree varian It strikes me as particularly sad that some older people will have shut themselves off from any family contact for what will turn out to be their final months alive. Of course the trouble is nobody knows to whom this applies. sad

I expect that there is a lot of space in all the royal residences so social distancing would not be a problem.

However we will almost certainly spend Xmas by our two-selves, for the first time in fifty years, in spite of having a spacious home.

We all have to make our own assessments of risk.

We are only in our seventies and we hope to live longer, long enough to get out to the other side of the pandemic and be with our family, close to them and able to hug them all at some time in the future.

Well I made my point very simply as I always do. The comment about intelligence was merely stating that if you took time to read it you couldn't fail to understand. It sounds like it was only skimmed over.

Ellianne Tue 29-Sept-20 18:01:57

"Spiky" means prickly (like a hedgehog), figuratively speaking I would say easily offended.

^Yes, other people live like this, but we don't fund them. It doesn't matter what happens in other countries.
That is not relevant.^
I think anyone of average intelligence can understand that I am referring simply to funding of RF.

Crikey, average intelligence? grin

Occasionally annepl when another poster explains something in an alternative way it does make all the difference to understanding properly.

annep1 Tue 29-Sept-20 17:37:01

Its unfair to criticise without reading the comment properly!!!

Callistemon Tue 29-Sept-20 17:13:16

But it does make me laugh when somebody posts a link followed by, 'Of course, I never read the DM.' grin

Oh yes, it's always amusing!
"Just look what I read in this dreadful, rightwing rag! I'm so shocked I can hardly post". Cue to clutch pearls in a dramatic fashion.

Summerlove Tue 29-Sept-20 17:12:30

I was critical of your comment. Being critical of comments is fair game.

Not your intelligence. Which could be construed as a personal attack.

There is a difference.

annep1 Tue 29-Sept-20 17:05:19

* Summerlove* I don't know what spiky means.
But in any case you were unfairly critical of my comment.

merlotgran Tue 29-Sept-20 17:00:00

Meghan has now lost her fight to block claims that she colluded with the authors of Finding Freedom - and/or allowed her friends to.

The book will now feature as evidence in the privacy battle against Associated Newspapers.

Oooops!

That’s a little spiky isn’t it? Meow

I thought we were always told on GN that we should never believe anything we read in the Daily Mail.

In fact, it's infra dig to even mention it, let alone confess you may have read it!

There are certain things one must not do. ?

Anniebach Tue 29-Sept-20 16:41:29

Every Christmas Day after Church and lunch Camilla has always left Sandringham to see her children and grandchildren.

Framilode Tue 29-Sept-20 16:27:12

I should think that Camilla has basted a few turkeys in her time. Perhaps she can polish up her skills and have another go.

Anniebach Tue 29-Sept-20 16:11:57

Would a woman 93 years old and a husband 99 years old
celebrate Christmas with such a large family ?

Set aside she is a mother, grandmother, great grandmother,
she is the Queen, she wouldn’t survive the virus , die and
what then ? No state funeral for heads of the commonwealth,
No Coronation could be arranged for Charles .

Furret Tue 29-Sept-20 15:07:50

Never let the truth get in the way of a good story?

Anniebach Tue 29-Sept-20 13:12:35

I don’t think it’s true.

annep1 Tue 29-Sept-20 12:53:32

Of course the queen is furious. Don't the staff realise what a privilege they are being given?

Lexisgranny Tue 29-Sept-20 12:50:43

One thing that we have heard frequently over the years is the loyalty that staff have shown to the Queen. Some of those closest to her are of many years standing and HM has shown loyalty to them. Eg the saga of the wedding tiara. Another thing we have been told about over the years is her discretion.

As a result I cannot believe that however disappointed the Queen is that her traditional Christmas arrangements may have to be cancelled and for whatever reason, she would show anger in front of a”source”. This is click bait, on a par with the “heartbreak”, “shock” etc, used every day to report on trivial matters.

Anniebach Tue 29-Sept-20 12:34:45

merlot ?

merlotgran Tue 29-Sept-20 12:32:54

They're probably all punching the air in delight shouting, 'Thank You, Covid, we can have Christmas Day on our own at last!!' grin
