That was quick......wonder what’s going on?

Apparently the Trump camp are in disarray as their electioneering was concentrating on the myth that the virus was not so infectious as generally thought and that it was reducing considerably throughout the USA, neither of which of course is true.

Trump’s cult followers of course will be willing to believe anything put out by him, but many who were perhaps wavering will begin to wake up to what the doctors are saying.

Another interesting point is that Trump had prevented the medical profession from giving out scientific fact on the media and instead had employed a doctor who was not an epidemiologist but was willing to go along with the Trump lies and misinformation.

This will surely now be shot to pieces.

I have to wonder if DT is actually in denial at being diagnosed positive for Covid 19! After all, at the prospect of losing the presidential election he said " we're not having that" ! And in the very early days of the virus didn't he deny that there was one??

Keffie12 Sat 03-Oct-20 15:59:53

My conmiserations to the virus, is all I have to say. The way he has treated his country his people, the world etc i have no feelings on it. Just disdain I think.

Mistyfluff8 Sat 03-Oct-20 15:54:01

He looked white and drawn walking to the helicopter .Trying an experimental drug .Showed him and his staff who have it giving hugs not social distancing what did he expectb

I agree lemon, saying BJ or DT didn’t have/got Coronavirus is the fake news. It’s beyond belief that adults actually believe that these things wouldn’t be leaked if they were made up or fake news. It doesn’t say much for our education system if adults are unable to look at these events critically and reason through the probability of such things being fake news.

In fact I believe this is the last thing either of them wanted. They both crave power and to be seen as weak through illness isn’t on their agenda.

rowyn Sat 03-Oct-20 15:52:26

Are we sure its not a^mental ^hospital??!!

lemongrove Sat 03-Oct-20 15:36:25

I didn’t want Johnson to lead the Conservative Party or Trump to win last time around ( or this!) but you have to keep your feet on the ground about things, and not rush to disbelieve medical outcomes because you dislike/ distrust certain politicians.

lemongrove Sat 03-Oct-20 15:33:04

Yes Lucca I do see that, but reason tells us several things,
First, that Trump will be very dismayed to have any illness at all, given he glories in his strength and ‘looks’ and at this stage of the proceedings with the election looming, nobody wants to vote for a weak/sick person for President.Second, that given the amount of people around Trump, inventing a case of Covid would be sure to be leaked, it simply wouldn't work.
There are posters on this thread who still doubt that Johnson
Was really sick or in the ICU unit despite the facts.
People want it to be lies, that’s the long and the short of it,
Or they are gullible and believe all the tosh on social media.

Hope they do some psychiatric tests while he's there.

I'm still thinking this is some sort of ploy or stunt. Sorry.

It’s no good Oopsaminty the crazy conspiracy theories are out there and people are willing to suck them up.Reason has gone out of the window with many things.

You must admit Trump is an unusual case and his constant refrain of “fake news” encourages a certain cynicism !

GrannyGravy13 Sat 03-Oct-20 15:21:38

lemongrove I agree with your last post.

My non belief in Karma is being severely tested. The testing positive of two republican senators has thrown doubts on whether the confirmation of ACB can now happen in time. Apparently they contracted it at the WH party for her at which there was much hugging and kissing but precious little social distancing or mask wearing. No sympathy for either of them

I am pretty sure that Trump has the virus. It's hardly surprising due to his insane behaviour.

As for the speed. Close friend of mine. Late 50s. Started to feel unwell early last week. Put it down to stress due to caring for aged mother.

In less than 24 hours she went from being able to function to barely breathing. Ambulance, hospital, oxygen.

She is improving. Amazingly her Mother hasn't caught it.

But it moves with speed in many cases.

Things to come ?

GrannyGravy13 Sat 03-Oct-20 14:56:48

Three republican senators have now tested positive?

parkersheen Sat 03-Oct-20 14:54:49

I have to agree with paddyanne. After the car crash televised 'debate' between Trump and Biden it just seems too convenient for him to hide away. He probably has a 'Dominic Cummings' puppetmaster just like Boris has who has told him that the only thing to do to limit the damage and evade another debate which he clearly cannot handle is to go into hiding.
Gwyneth I don't think Paddyanne or anyone would criticise our NHS staff or accuse them of lying. They are above reproach. But the whole debacle just seems 'off'

suziewoozie Sat 03-Oct-20 14:23:23

Thanks Blinko and Illte

Whitewavemark2 Sat 03-Oct-20 14:21:10

Blimey the WH and satellite folk seem to be dropping like flies.

CNN are now reporting that POTUS is having ^some trouble breathing^

If he has developed pneumonia that takes it to a whole different level. It has all happened very quickly!

Is is speculation or have the doctors given a bulletin?

Blinko Sat 03-Oct-20 13:30:56

^
However, my preferred scenario would be he eventually comes through this episode and it gives him a wake up call about the virus. He fails "bigly" to win the election and is taken through the courts re the various actions against him and suffers that way. Then we'll see how the "very stable genius" does.^

That would be my preferred scenario too, flump.

Wishing you well, Heathcliff.

And I'm with you on this, susiewoozie. Lord knows where Gwynneth thought she was going with that one! A clear misrepresentation of what was said.

Neilspurgeon0 Sat 03-Oct-20 13:30:51

I really do have to wonder...he was appalling in the first live debate, could possibly be a ploy, wouldn’t put it past him

Illte Sat 03-Oct-20 13:27:47

were. I am literate. I just can't handle this phone.

Totally agree with sooziewoozie , people are not going to tell us in depth about how things are.
