It's just so incredible. How can one man have brought about this situation? How has someone so delusional but thick got so far?
His personality would give psychiatrists something to study for decades.

Ina way it doesn’t matter if they misguidedly supported Trump and populist politics, as long as they understand where such support takes us and they have changed their minds.

I have been watching this unfold in absolute horror having been alerted by my son in Texas.

He told me after their election that armed insurrection would follow Biden’s win.

Last week my son repeated that there were going to be riots today.

So why was there not massive security presence?

I asked my son and received a 2 word reply - By design?

Yes, I supported Trump. I honestly thought he’d win a second term. (Good job I’m not a gambling woman!).

Actually the call was pretty darn close wasn’t it? Almost like our referendum result. And just as divisive. It’s taken Brexit over 4 years to only just begun to cool down. And these supporters have guns! Hot heads. Tempers flared.

I think the pandemic did for Trump. It knocked him off course. The electorate turned against him. But only marginally (like Brexit). Can you imagine how well he’d have done without it? I can.

However, I join in with you ALL on the condemnation of these totally shocking scenes tonight.

I think so, in fact I think that CNN reporters think that.

Massive double standards. It won’t have gone unnoticed.

There are more than one there have been a few. I can remember them all. None of them have condemned what has happened so I can only assume that they don’t disapprove.

They all support Farage and others of the far right, it is all of a pattern.

They aren’t protesters they are a mob, some of them committing sedition.

Well the few Trump supporters on here have gone very quiet. I would like to know how they could possibly justify what has gone on and is going on.

It’s been a surreal scene there, but a lot are now dispersing and going home thankfully.
Hope it will end peacefully, but there is a hardcore of very strange looking protesters ( armed as well!)
