Won’t do a virtual debate - should be empty chaired. Good news

Sorry, went to sort out our evening meal! It was on Sky News.

He is alleging that more than ten thousand dead people voted in Georgia. I think the actual number was two dead people, both of whom voted for Trump.

It is seriously worrying that millions of Americans still believe in this shyster.

Isn’t there a new job waiting for him at the BBC Whitewavemark2 - to stamp out the lefties!

which channel?

I’m watching CNN they have screened a bit of his speech.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 06-Jan-21 17:32:28

Something to think about.

If Trump loses both houses it is as sure as night follows day that there will be democrats who go after Trump. There has been a suggestion that Trump will stand down for the last week and Pence as president will pardon Trump??.

Actually I don’t know why I’m laughing as politics is so crazy these days.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 06-Jan-21 17:27:46

Mad as a box of frogs!

But how on earth does he get people shrieking their support?

He's addressing a rally (on the TV at the moment) the man is deranged, hes trying every trick in the book to make his supporters believe that there's been voting fraud, yet he can show no evidence. His followers believe every lie that comes out of his mouth. It's bizarre.

varian Wed 06-Jan-21 17:06:45

There is also a suggestion that he will launch an attack on Iran in the next few days.

At one time no-one would have believed it but Trump pushed believeability to beyond the limit.

Daisymae Wed 06-Jan-21 17:03:18

I read in the Washington Post that there are concerns that Trump may try to employ the military to stay in power. I can't really see it coming to that, but then again maybe we shouldn't be surprised by anything nowadays?

Are we not desperate to trade with the USA? So we need to get on terms with Joe Biden not Trump.

True

Didn't our Vote Leave government say they would control our borders? So surely they do not need to admit Trump?

Oh I’m not sure they would want to exclude him as they have the same political philosophy.

Populists, nationalists both.

varian Wed 06-Jan-21 13:45:05

He might be welcome in Russia, but only if he repays his colossal debts to Russian banks.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 06-Jan-21 13:38:47

I can’t see that he would be welcome anywhere except England.

MaizieD Wed 06-Jan-21 13:20:24

I hope he gets the bum's rush from hiding away in Scotland when he should be acting like the outgoing President on Inauguration Day.

Well, he's never really acted like a President since he was elected. so why start now?

Hasn't wee Nicola said that he can't go to Scotland because playing golf isn't essential? (And won't the golf course be closed anyway?)

Whitewavemark2 Wed 06-Jan-21 13:04:12

Ossoff claiming the win.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 06-Jan-21 12:47:46

The question I think now for the USA is how to recover from the past 4 years, and indeed probably a few years before that.

rose was convinced that the left behinds were the reason for the way politics had developed in USA (she’d explain it much better than I can).

But with the Democrats looking as if they will control both houses with everything crossed and something Obama never had, they have the opportunity to right so many wrongs.

I think Trump is certifiable. His words and actions show an embittered man refusing to accept that the American people don't want him in the White House for a second term. Quite a rare slur on a President mid-term. When Melania was casting her vote on Election Day I wondered if she was voting for Biden. I hope he gets the bum's rush from hiding away in Scotland when he should be acting like the outgoing President on Inauguration Day. Barack Obama must have hated handing the White House over to Trump but with Michelle by his side he carried out his duties with dignity and respect.
