Just when I thought Trump couldn’t sink any lower he does. Thank goodness the Republican SOS Of Georgia had the integrity to resist his bullying threats and that the phone call has been put in the public domain. Trump supporters are making the usual squeals of ‘fake news’, some claiming it’s not Trump’s voice, it didn’t happen, others saying the tape has been doctored. Modern technology will make it easy to support or disprove these claims. It is important that Trump and Mark Meadows are held to account and Trump impeached which if successful would prevent him standing in 2024. The content of the call is unbelievable, Trump using everything to get the SOS do his bidding, turning things he’s heard on social media into facts, saying that although investigations have been made the investigators must either be incompetent or corrupt, cajoling, flattering -even saying the Georgia SOS’s lawyer has a nice last name (Germany) then when all else fails - veiled threats. Surprise, surprise Trump is now going to sue the Georgia SOS for releasing the phone call but I believe Georgia And Washington DC both have one party consent which means just one of the parties can give consent to allowing information to be made public. The sooner this bitter, vindictive, amoral old man is removed from public life the better.

What a relief that someone so delusional will no longer be president.

Never mind that there has been no credible evidence of substantive fraud. Never mind that Georgia has counted, then recounted, then recounted again the ballots and found no major disparities. Never mind that the Republican-controlled state has certified its election results and, even if Georgia flipped, it wouldn't be enough to re-elect Trump.

The tenor of Trump's call suggests he's not just manoeuvring for post-presidential power or trying to boost his fund-raising haul, however. He appears to firmly believe he won and is willing to use all the tools, some of questionable legality, to push state officials to shift the election in his favour.

The call is reminiscent of Trump's "I would like you to do us a favour, though" conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelinsky, where he pressured and cajoled a foreign leader for political help.

That contact resulted in Trump's impeachment. The brazenness of Trump's Saturday call may make it more difficult for the president to rally political support to his cause.

Here in the UK several supermarket chains have returned money they gained from the government’s decision to suspend business rates. I find this very heartening but many individuals, most of them cronies of government ministers, have made eye-watering sums of money from ill thought out Government initiatives during the Covid crisis.

Less than 10% of the entire population of the U.S. earns over 100K annually- Meaning, the wealthy aren't eligible to receive the checks- However, the wealthy have received millions from the stimulus funds due to their business dealings, both small business and corporate- In contrast, those receiving welfare and food assistance received a one time payout of 1,200.00 and a small boost in their food assistance programs-

In the UK we have levels of taxation according to income. If you have a similar system in the USA then perhaps higher rate tax payers shouldn’t get the checks. Certainly those on welfare and/or having to rely on food banks should get the checks immediately.

He keeps saying that they, "survival checks" , should be sent to targeted individuals, but has yet to mention who those targets are- He just keeps saying working families need help

But .. that still leaves the question: Who should get the checks?

He knows loopholes because he has gravitated towards lawyers, as lawyers have gravitated towards him, for all of his adult life -- until he is done with them or they are done with him after damage done-

It's a cash cow- And it's allowed-

The trouble with him pardoning himself, if it can be done, is that he has to admit he has committed crimes and he is unlikely to do that. Pardons can only be given for federal offences, he can still be prosecuted by states and individuals such as the three women who are suing him for defamation. The state of New York has currently appointed specialists to forensically examine his state tax returns and are likely to prosecute him for non payment of state taxes. He is loathed in the building sector in New York city because he rarely pays his bills, many contractors won’t do work for him. His philosophy is to let people keep on taking him to court until they run out of money, he is on record about this and says it is good business. As the author of The Art Of The Deal says the book should have been titled The Sociopath.

NannyC2, you are doing well praying for Trump. You seem to be a strong supporter of his and a good prayer, so why not keep on doing as you are doing?

The complete entry makes very interesting reading, tells of more of Trump’s lies and shady business dealings. He promised several charities a share of the book’s royalties but they never materialised, he donated more to Ivanka’s ballet school than any of the charities he promised to help.

Janet43 That’s interesting about the book. I guess we have to be patient for the next 20 days. I’m concerned about Jan 6 but I think we will be okay. The vaccines are so slow as his administration has NO plan. I was a government teacher and am so glad I don’t teach it anymore. How do you tell children one thing while the president is abusing his powers and no one is doing anything about it? If he doesn’t pay for his seditious acts then that sends a message that another president can do that.

I just wish there was a way of ending Trump’s term prematurely so that The Biden Administration could get started on improving things. When they do start to improve of course Trump will be shouting that it’s all down to him.

I will join the minority views i.e. The world needs Trump in my opinion - we will have evil all around us if the 'Globalists' get their way. Your freedom will be gone.
Trump is our HOPE in this present time which is why I along with millions of others are praying for him.

I don't know why many of you think he is really bad - is it that you really know him personally to judge him so? Or do you just go along with others? You will not hear the truth from the media and you should know why this is?
Someone who does know Trump personally (worked with him) reveals that he is just the opposite.
He isn't a politician, thank goodness and he admits it. He is a businessman and he cares for America and it's constitution. He won a landslide victory and he should rightly fight against the corruption which has taken place especially with the enormous amount of evidence there is. Why is this proving difficult? Again, the evidence should be apparent to you!

We really need to have 'common law' not 'maritime' law which will change our lives for the better. I am hoping this will happen for the good of everyday people.

What is going to happen then NannyC2, do tell? Trump is too busy playing golf to do anything at the moment isn’t he? You say he won ‘a landslide victory’, do you believe everything that comes out of this man’s mouth because he lies many times a day, every day. Where is your evidence of this? The Governor of Texas offered one million dollars to anybody who could give evidence of voter fraud but so far nothing except evidence from the Pennsylvania Governor of fraudulent votes for Trump. Claims about the Dominion machines have been proved to be groundless and Dominion, rightly so, are taking several people to court over their false claims, including Guiliani’s star witness who said she had inside information as she had worked for Dominion. In reality she worked for them for one day cleaning the glass on the machines.

As for Trump’s lies, where to start? He lied many times after 9/11 claiming to have been helping emergency workers on the ground when in fact he was nowhere near, there are numerous pieces of evidence to support that he was lying. On the day of the disaster he said that now he owned the tallest building in NY when in fact he didn’t but what an insensitive thing to say, not a ‘nice man’ in my book. Three men who worked to turn around his failing casinos were killed in a helicopter crash and what did he do, he called the media falsely claiming he had escaped death and should have been on the helicopter when in fact this was another one of his lies. He topped that by publicly saying that one of the dead men was responsible for the failure of the casinos but now he himself was turning things around. What a vile thing to do.

I could go on for 17 pages about why Trump is not the man you think he is but it would be futile as his followers just scream ‘fake news’ about everything.
