The bill has to get voted on in the Senate next, Whitewave- It isn't a done deal- Yet- So, who knows? Although the president signed the bill, he did so with provisions- And those need to be worked out in the Senate too- Many Republicans feel the checks don't target the people who need it but they do because there is an income cap on who can receive the checks- And for whatever the reason, that fact isn't sinking in to their non-bipartisan skulls-

As President of the United States it is my responsibility to protect the people of our country from the economic devastation and hardship that was caused by the China Virus.

I understand that many small businesses have been forced to close as a result of harsh actions by Democrat-run states. Many people are back to work, but my job is not done until everyone is back to work.

Fortunately, as a result of my work with Congress in passing the CARES Act earlier this year, we avoided another Great Depression. Under my leadership, Project Warp Speed has been a tremendous success, my Administration and I developed a vaccine many years ahead of wildest expectations, and we are distributing these vaccines, and others soon coming, to millions of people.

As President, I have told Congress that I want far less wasteful spending and more money going to the American people in the form of $2,000 checks per adult and $600 per child.

As President I am demanding many rescissions under the Impoundment Control Act of 1974. The Act provides that, “whenever the President determines that all or part of any budget authority will not be required to carry out the full objectives or scope of programs for which it is provided, or that such budget authority should be rescinded for fiscal policy or other reasons (including termination of authorized projects or activities for which budget authority has been provided), the President shall transmit to both Houses of Congress a special message” describing the amount to be reserved, the relevant accounts, the reasons for the rescission, and the economic effects of the rescission. 2 U.S.C. § 683.

I will sign the Omnibus and Covid package with a strong message that makes clear to Congress that wasteful items need to be removed. I will send back to Congress a redlined version, item by item, accompanied by the formal rescission request to Congress insisting that those funds be removed from the bill.

I am signing this bill to restore unemployment benefits, stop evictions, provide rental assistance, add money for PPP, return our airline workers back to work, add substantially more money for vaccine distribution, and much more.

On Monday the House will vote to increase payments to individuals from $600 to $2,000. Therefore, a family of four would receive $5,200. Additionally, Congress has promised that Section 230, which so unfairly benefits Big Tech at the expense of the American people, will be reviewed and either be terminated or substantially reformed.

Likewise, the House and Senate have agreed to focus strongly on the very substantial voter fraud which took place in the November 3 Presidential election.

The Senate will start the process for a vote that increases checks to $2,000, repeals Section 230, and starts an investigation into voter fraud.

Big Tech must not get protections of Section 230!

The House voted and passed a measure today to raise the stimulus checks to 2000- 44 Republicans voted YEA -- out of 195 (R)

It's all bullshit, Whitewave- When you see someone like Sanders beg the president to sign that flaccid excuse of a bill without a shred of apology or embarrassment, but promise that there will be more coming? It's exactly that level of cowardice that helps grow the Republican party- He's all bluster and no backbone-

Someone who does know Trump personally (worked with him) reveals that he is just the opposite.
He isn't a politician, thank goodness and he admits it. He is a businessman and he cares for America and it's constitution. He won a landslide victory and he should rightly fight against the corruption which has taken place especially with the enormous amount of evidence there is. Why is this proving difficult? Again, the evidence should be apparent to you!

We really need to have 'common law' not 'maritime' law which will change our lives for the better. I am hoping this will happen for the good of everyday people.

Is the choice 600 dollars or nothing at all?

It's an embarrassing, global, public shaming, slap in the face to every American- A kick them when they're down manoeuvre that they didn't deserve-

Trump did encourage Congress to issue a second stimulus check back in September- They didn't-

The wealthy did not receive 1,200.00 stimulus checks- There was an income cutoff/cap, about 100K for single individuals and 200K per couple-

The wealthy did receive millions from the pandemic Cares Act funds, which the 1,200.00 checks were part of-

And do the wealthy really need a relief check? This horrible mistake of a human being is playing golf while people are starving and homeless and dying. And he doesn’t freaking care. He had a chance months ago to say he wanted us to get $2000 but no he was too busy complaining about who or what . Such a whiny man baby. He does no good for mankind and neither did she. This is exactly how the amount of stimulus checks became so small- They bartered away over half of our initial payout in order to replace it with bits and pieces of legislation unrelated to the pandemic stimulus checks-

The practice should be outlawed-

Trump is definitely throwing Mitch under the bus- But to his credit, which you can fact check, the president pressured Congress to send out a second check months ago-

rosecarmel As I u set stand the house wanted the $2000 in the spring but MCCONNELL said no. Then after McConnell says Biden won Trump decided to throw him u see the bus and ask for the $2000. The non pandemic politics is the budget to keep the government open. I think they should have done a separate relief bill. How can we allow the speakers to have so much power? Today is the expiration date for jobless benefits- And if Trump refuses to sign the bill approximately 14 million people will lose their benefits-

Keep in mind 30 million jobless people received 1,200 per adult, 500 per child in a one time payout- They also received federal unemployment benefits, state benefits at approximately 321 per week, and an additional 600 per week stimulus March thru July-

Most citizens (US population is approximately 330 million) received a one time 1,200 payout- Many wealthy people received millions, including celebrities-

Unemployment benefits were tremendously lopsided prior to the pandemic- Now they're even more convoluted- And people who already lost their jobs through no fault of their own and were receiving unemployment when the Cares Act unemployment supplement was enacted were not eligible to receive it!

There's also a bunch of non-pandemic politics attached to the new bill- And it's due to these non-related issues that has taken Congress this long to reach an agreement- So in the middle of a pandemic, both sides fought for what they wanted and disregarded what people needed-

I hope he continues to refuse to sign the bill- I don't often side with Trump, but this time he was right-

People who wouldn't qualify for the checks (too much money) wouldn't receive the checks- No different than last time, meaning not every citizen would get one- Yet economists are griping that people who don't need them would receive them, which is incorrect-

Prices on many essential items keeps rising- 2K is nearly equivalent to a month of untaxed wages @ 15 an hour- So the amount is "spot on"- The situation calls for it- This isn't about politics- It's about survival- 600 was a slap in the face- It cost about 145 to take a bus from Detroit to Tampa, which many will need to do in order to stay alive-

So I agree with Trump, 600 simply isn't enough-

I do feel for you rosecarmel. We spent a lot of time in the USA and Canada between 1980 and 2013 and have good friends and family members over there. I hope with all my heart that things improve under the incoming administration but what an uphill struggle they will have.
