So Trump won’t attend the Inauguration.

Missing him already - not!
He intends to visit your part of the world, though, Maw

It’s like watching that O J Simpson car chase only in slow motion over a period of time....
It might persuade the mob who say he deserted them that it is time for them to desert him.
Trump in his usual lying mode saying he instantly called the National Guard. Errr no you didn’t, aides tried to get you to do it but you wouldn’t, you just sat watching tv. Nancy Pelosi and Pence instigated it. I’m sure he won’t be missed at The Inauguration. Ivanka will be disappointed, missing an opportunity to wear another designer outfit.
He has at last admitted to being a coward. Utter disgrace.
All that we need to see is his prosecution and imprisonment.

Trump has now condemned the mob who now say they risked their lives for him and now he’s turned against them.
Called trying to save your neck??? liar, liar, pants on fire!!

Twice even???
Strewth!
If they had complied it would have been a full blown coup
A chilling revelation from the wise and informed Fiona Hill, Trump’s former Russia advisor. Now we know exactly why all the living former Secretaries of Defense suddenly called on the military to refrain from political involvement. They knew Trump’s attempted coup was underway.
Going off at a complete tangent here. I watched It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood last night and googled. Fred Rogers. It seems that Nixon tried to reduce spending on educational children’s tv programmes but Fred Rogers (amongst others) contested this and won. Fred Rogers even stood up in court to do so. Guess which other President has recently tried to do the same thing? Says it all, really. What a nasty nasty man he is. DH said to me 4 years ago ‘he’s setting up a dynasty isn’t he’.
What an insult to everyone's intelligence it is that the Conbrexatives are deleting all their Trump supporting tweets!

One thing we can't avoid acknowledging is the large numbers of Americans who voted for this awful man. There seems to be mass belief that Trump won the election. The Republican Party continued to support him, despite the Courts rejecting his endless challenges.
If the 25th amendment was used, I suspect that would simply pour oil on the fires.
I don't expect he will stand in four years but, I will maintain his chaos causing behaviour. I wonder if Don jnr or Ivanka will run in 4 years. They now see themselves as a political dynasty
You might find this an interesting read Iam64.

Having read it, I think you are right about pouring oil on the fires but if they do nothing I have a feeling he and others like him will continue to try and take power. It is stunning that people believe what they do and are deaf to any logical argument but I seem to remember that when local German townspeople were made to walk through the camps and see what had been happening some still did not accept it and felt it was the allies making things out to be worse than they actually were and some of those in command found arguments why it was the right thing to do.
Plus sa change ... It's very worring because it can happen anywhere.
Whitewave, I agree with ReeceMogg (faints at the very idea) about the link between Trump supporters and some of the Brexiteers, though not all.
Sarnia, the Republican Party seems to be facing a similar dilemma to the two main parties here. The ERG has too much influence in the Conservative party and the Momentum group too much influence in the Labour Party. The republicans have a lot of work to do or they will be taken over by Trump supporters.
He should be arrested, put on trial for his many crimes and jailed for a very long term. I suspect that is why he is trying to pardon himself.
If he gets impeached, does he get arrested? I do think that it is essential for him to be out of action particularly before and during the inauguration, as according to CNN there is a lot of chatter on the dark web and social media about the 20th just as there was before the 6th. Not that the security services seem to understand the significance of this activity,
Iam64. Cutting the Trump dynasty short is just one reason why this narcissistic nutter is not a happy man. Several sources think he had Don Jn, Eric or Ivanka waiting in the wings for 2025. They may have high opinions of themselves but surely the US voter (excepting the blinkered Trump diehards) seeing the name Trump on the ballot paper would give that a very wide berth.
Is he going to be impeached, then, Rhinestone?
iam64 according to Rees Mogg the same sort of people voted for Trump as voted for Brexit

It goes without saying that anyone at all would be better than DT though!
I suppose the thread is getting rather long now.Life's too short Callistemon.
Sorry about the huge quote. Sorry but I do think if you are going to suggest things such as Lemongrove being a Trump supporter you are duty bound to have read the thread. Life’s too short ? In which case why spend time on GN in the first place.
Can he not be arrested for sedition?
There are now five dead and a police officer is the fifth. Nancy Pelosi called our Vice President to see about getting him removed via our 25 th amendment to the constitution. He has NOT calked back. Trumps cabinet is resigning because they don’t want to be called upon to say he has to be removed. That whole Trump family are murders in my opinion.
I know they are twelve days left . He released another video last night assaying all the right things and how HE called our National Guard. He lied as it was Pence who called for help. He is unhinged mentally .
