House of Lords condemns law-breaking bill - Lobby a Lord

Every now and then we seem to get a new poster on GN who attempts to defend our rotten government.

Are Conservative Central Office members of GN, perhaps under another alias?

If they don't want to be criticised, they could always do things in a way that is acceptable legally and morally.

So you are OK, Kamiso, with the lawmakers breaking the laws, the signers of international agreements reneging on them, our elected representatives and the leaders of our country and their advisors of lying to us and granting contracts to their friends without inviting tenders from anyone else?

Dominic and Boris love you, I am sure. You would let them do anything at all without protest or even comment. How do you think the dictators of banana republics get into power and stay there?

With comments like the one from Kamiso, it is no wonder that the Government thinks it can get away with doing anything that suits it, even at the expense of our country's reputation.

We get very bored with folks, who don't understand the fundamental principles which govern our society and our relationships with other countries, coming onto threads to make stupid comments...

Several of those elected representatives, some at a very high level of responsibility, have already proved that they don't consider that THEY have to keep to the rules they made for the rest of us in an attempt to control the spread of disease.

Never mind the EU or anyone else. If you - if WE - sign an agreement we should keep to it. Mortgage payments? If you stop paying those without discussing it with the lender, you find your house is no longer yours. Marriage certificate? If you decide to marry someone else, you have to get divorcedfirst and cancel the original marriage.

If we - or our elected government acting in our name - show that they can't keep the agreements or laws that it made itself, why should any other country trust us to keep any international agreements or trade deals that we - or our elected government acting in our name - put their - signatures to?

Thank goodness the large majority of the House of Lords has a far better understanding of the fundamental importance of the Rule of Law than do a great many of the supporters of our appalling populist government.

perhaps you could list the EU laws you think the uk had to obey? Remember when you do that our ELECTED representatives voted for them!

I see this as honouring promises which we have only just made!

It's bonkers to suggest this is a tit-for-tat thing!

As usual, they vote to let a foreign enterprise walk all over us, rather than supporting their own country. Perhaps you could list some of the international laws the EU obeys.
