Looking at the figures, it seems very likely that Trump has won a second term. How that will affect the world remains to be seen.?

No, of course not! Nut I'd forgotten about the fly-by flying past all the security ??

That report was not completely accurate. Someone should have pointed out that Glasgow is not "Scotland's second largest city"

Thanks for posting the old footage from Turnberry! I'd forgotten about the hang glider!

It's a good news day at last.
I'm pleased for Biden but delighted for Kamala Harris.

It's good news for America, providing the 'base' supports of Trump don't follow his lead and shout fraud. The photographs of them with their armoury are very frightening.

growstuff I think it was the Mayor of Philadelphia.

I stand by my prediction

Biden 306

Trump 232

Which is exactly what the numbers were for the last election but in reverse.

Can you imagine what Trump claimed then about the biggest win in history and it being a landside win among other claims being repeated this time?

?

I loved Biden’s comment.

“Politics is not about perpetual warfare.......it is about Cooperation and compromise”

The wisdom of age.

Someone needs to show that comment to Cummings.

Farage now has a job as senior editor-at-large (whatever one of those is) at "Newsweek".

M0nica Sat 07-Nov-20 00:21:36

All I can say is that nobody will ever be so pleased to see two men and their money parted as seeing Banks and Farage lose their bets on the US election.

MaizieD Fri 06-Nov-20 23:27:59

Doesn't Farage stand to lose £10,000 if Trump loses?

I've seen a tweet recently that claims that Banks had a $5million bet on a Trump win...

hmm

growstuff Fri 06-Nov-20 23:01:25

Nigel Farage has just tweeted "The ridiculous postal voting system has contaminated British politics. It is now doing the same in America."

I guess Farage has had more experience of losing elections than Trump.

The mayor of Pittsburgh said Trump should "put his big boy's pants on" and admit defeat.

Meanwhile, the Lt Governor of Pennsylvania said “The president can sue a ham sandwich, it wouldn’t make a difference.”grin

SueDonim Fri 06-Nov-20 21:41:32

It struck me today that Trump is like a small child who doesn’t want to go to bed and is using every delaying tactic they can. ‘I can’t sleep. I need a drink of water. I want a wee-wee. I’m hungry. I’m too scared to go to sleep because there’s a monster under my bed called Joe and I want you to make it go away! Don’t leeeeeeeave me, Mommeeeee!’

I see Biden is going to speak shortly. I wonder if that will lure Trump out to the podium like last night. Or perhaps his team have locked him in a room to keep him away from the cameras after his shocking display of stupidity and arrogance last night.

Jane2020 Fri 06-Nov-20 21:04:57

I have the feeling that we may be close to seeing him being escorted from the WH by men in white coats -very discreetly, of course- as he seems to have got himself in a bit of a tizz. One hissy fit too many, perhaps?

Jane43 Trump still spewing venom, accusing Pennsylvania of a history of electoral incompetence. Somebody needs to stop this man’s malicious dialogue and soon.

Well, if Pennsylvania has a history of election incompetence, I wonder why Trump didn't complain about it in the 2016 elections? Oh, could it possibly be because he won? How can anyone take that man seriously? He's a complete embarrassment.

Grannynannywanny Fri 06-Nov-20 20:30:11

He was warmly welcomed on his last visit ?

What an ignorant oaf Trump was in his meeting with Angela Merkel varian; I felt embarrassed by him. He's one of those rare people that I'd like to slap very hard.

Lolo81 Fri 06-Nov-20 20:17:14

Please don’t send him here to Scotland! shock

If it’s Scotland, I’ll be there at the barricade, pitchfork in hand.
