Not sure how he'll do that from prison, mind.

Not so easy to emigrate to France now that we have all lost our entitlement to live there as EU citizens. Freedom of movement gave us the opportunity to live in any one of 27 other European countries but that has been thrown away. maddyone.

Oh no Callistemon. I’m on the south coast, is it far enough away, or do I need to emigrate to France? hmm

Nannytopsy Wed 11-Nov-20 11:23:48

His diagnosis of dementia should have come through by 2024 ...

Callistemon Wed 11-Nov-20 10:52:24

Where will he run to?

The song that is my latest ear worm is The Last Farewell by Roger Whittaker but I sincerely hope it won't come true.

There's a ship lies rigged and ready in the harbor
Tomorrow for old England Scotland she sails
Far away from your land of endless sunshine
To my land full of rainy skies and gales
And I shall be aboard that ship tomorrow
Though my heart is full of tears at this farewell
For you are beautiful, I have loved you dearly
More dearly than the spoken word can tell

Sorry LullyDully (sp)

LullyDully

Oops Sorry. What a bloomer. Republicans of course.

It's confusing when they put the map up because the colours are the wrong way round LulluDully!
Why can't they get something so simple correct?
grin

I think if Trump doesn't go to prison, he will set up his own news broadcasting service. Given the amount of followers he has, pay per view would make him a very rich man indeed. Then we have trump and whatever loony young people he hires as "news" reporters calling out all other broadcasrsers as fake news while having a massive influence over the future politics in America.

Given that not a single other broadcaster has escaped his wrath lately, it seems his logical next step

Where will he run to? There are few countries that would welcome him. I can't see him running as a Republican in 2024 though he could as an independent and get totally slaughtered. His legal challenges are just embarrassing so in the long he will have to back down or be escorted out of the White House. I'm waiting for Johnson, Gove, Cummings, Farage, Gove and others to follow him into exile!!

maddyone Wed 11-Nov-20 10:19:39

Oh no!

mamaa Wed 11-Nov-20 10:08:15

Didn’t mean it, not didn’t meant it

mamaa Wed 11-Nov-20 10:07:44

Ooh who to vote for if he or Kanye or even Kim ( who’s threatened to stand I think- she probably didn’t meant it grin ). Such great examples of humanity right therewink

LullyDully Wed 11-Nov-20 08:25:31

Oops Sorry. What a bloomer. Republicans of course.

loopyloo Tue 10-Nov-20 14:09:55

You mean the Republicans?

LullyDully Tue 10-Nov-20 14:05:06

Surely the Democrats won't make the same mistake again and find someone more suitable from such a vast country with an enormous population. They must be as glad of the break from Trump as we all are.

I was shopping in Sainsburys this morning, browsing the wine section which can take a short while. A couple of women in the same aisle, we weren't close to each other because the aisles are wide. However, close enough to hear an animated conversation which I first thought was about domestic abuse in that one of the women sounded as if she was referring to a partner. Went something like this "He's really unbalanced, clearly has mental problems, I wish someone would just kill him shock thought to myself good God this person sounds an absolute horror fancy having to live with someone like that, then it all became clear when the name "Trump" was mentioned!

Hetty58 Tue 10-Nov-20 00:23:55

Surely he wouldn't want to risk the gross humiliation - of losing yet again! (Well, let's hope so.)

welbeck Tue 10-Nov-20 00:06:22

will melania have made her break for freedom by then.
if so, he will probably send to central europe for a new one to present as a new flotus.
don't think he'll get another term. but could cause trouble for republicans, if he splits off and divides the vote.

suziewoozie Mon 09-Nov-20 23:26:24

The pardon only works for federal offences I think - so that leaves state offences unpardonned.. But have you noticed Pence recently? No me neither.

JenniferEccles Mon 09-Nov-20 22:31:37

That’s interesting because Piers Morgan suggested the same thing on the Jeremy Vine radio programme last Friday.
He pointed out that in four years time, Trump will only be one year older than Biden is now.

NotSpaghetti Mon 09-Nov-20 21:34:55

If he resigns, maybe Pence can pardon him.

Davidhs Mon 09-Nov-20 21:32:02

Prosecution

Davidhs Mon 09-Nov-20 21:31:20

Now he is set to loose his immunity to persecution and there is a string of law suits waiting to be delivered amounting to over $1 billion. Avoiding jail or exile is going to be rather more important than a second term

Iam64 Mon 09-Nov-20 21:05:22

I don't think he is leader of the Republicans eazybee. He's "just' the potus, once he stops being that let's hope the less bonkers republicans begin to distance themselves from him

Dinahmo Mon 09-Nov-20 21:03:50

With Ivanka as VIP

eazybee Mon 09-Nov-20 21:03:17

What happens to him if he does ever admit defeat?
Does he stay on as leader of his party?
