Fight with Carrie. One aide has left. Cummings threatening to walk out (let him go was the cry!). But still. Why is she interfering? They're bad enough without WAGS getting involved.

Cummings! No great loss there. I expect Carrie was utterly pi@@ed off at the way he behaved and made Boris look stupid for not sacking him. Disgusting excuse got a human being ???

runnerbean Thu 12-Nov-20 13:20:05

Cummings should go and work for the dvla, the sight test department

Lilyflower Thu 12-Nov-20 13:13:35

Have I missed something? Was Carrie on the voting slips?

Nannan2 Thu 12-Nov-20 13:06:29

The term "when thieves fall out" comes to mind...??

Oldbat1 Thu 12-Nov-20 13:05:30

We have hope perhaps to see the back of Cummings?? He obviously has ideas way beyond his station and believes rules are not for “the chosen one”. Fingers crossed he has some morals and goes too. Doubtful.

crazygranny Thu 12-Nov-20 13:03:06

And this is supposed to be our government!!!

biba70 Thu 12-Nov-20 12:59:35

in the meantime, we have just days to get a Deal with EU- and just a few weeks to prepare - and they decide to play bad boys' musical chairs. Madness.

Yes, I know, we should trust, and wait , and see ...

A senior Tory MP told the Standard: “If they have got rid of one of the Kray brothers, they have got to get rid of Cummings as well.

It seems that Boris relied on Cain a lot, he doesn’t seem able to keep any loyal friends by him and he hasn’t got what it takes to stand alone, nor the stamina, or, I suspect, the will. Everything has gone pearshaped, it will just be a case of salvaging what he can and mitigating the disasters falling about him (and anyone else who takes over the reins). I wonder if anyone else would even want to take over at the moment. Poor man, I guess he might fumble along a bit longer before throwing in the towel.

Carrie needs to get back into the nursery. The country voted for Boris, not her.

Carrie did have a job in the PM's office before she and Boris got together. "Get back into the nursery" is a pretty damning thing to a clever woman and rather sexist. That baby has two parents, y'know. Also, nobody voted for Cummings either.

I had to think who the heck Carrie was at first.
You would seriously expect that grown adults would not start stamping their feet and spitting out their dummies but apparently not.
IMO Cummings should have gone long ago when he decided that he was such a special person that it was ok to travel for several hours to a different part of the country, as well as travel around that area like a tourist while most of the rest of the country was having to stay home as well as look after their own children even if unwell.
Noticed that since then he has been fairly inconspicuous .
I always wonder how people that have no apparent qualifications in a particular field such as politics are even allowed to get themselves in such a position of power and how much of their own beliefs control the person that they are supposedly advise? Still, it has been happening since the year dot and going back in time, it used to be that the only way that they were got rid of was either a stay in the Tower or being beheaded!

winterwhite Thu 12-Nov-20 12:22:03

Well, Cummings and Cain are appointed salaried employees and CS is not (so far as I know). IMO she should have not have the say in the matter that she seems to have. Experienced or not, if she resigned from her job she resigned from it. Kitchen cabinet indeed.?
I do agree about RJ. He is about the least credible spokesman they could find.

ALANaV Thu 12-Nov-20 12:19:06

Maybe Specsavers in Barnard Castle will make him an offer he can;t refuse .................we hope so !

Authoress Thu 12-Nov-20 12:15:41

Odious little person (Cummings) - I don't care who gives him the push, he should have gone months ago. His actions have cost lives...

leeds22 Thu 12-Nov-20 12:10:43

Frightening to read today that Cain was running the country for 2 weeks while Boris was fighting for his life, by-passing Raab.

Sheilasue Thu 12-Nov-20 12:04:20

Just keeping my fingers x Cummings does go. Don’t know where they dug him up from.

Matelda Thu 12-Nov-20 11:53:47

I find all the jeering comments about Carrie Symonds being a WAG and needing to get back into the nursery quite upsetting. She is a former Director of Communications for the Conservative Party, just like Lee Cain - oh, but of course he's a man!

icanhandthemback Thu 12-Nov-20 11:51:09

I'd love to know what proof there is that Carrie vetoed the appointment of Cain. However, isn't she somebody with experience in the Communications area and therefore might have an opinion that is worth listening to? I suspect that the truth is that she is not alone in her worries about Cain and Cummings (the two C's) and that it was more a collective input that has caused the rift rather than Carrie alone but blaming her makes good headlines.
Personally, I think Boris needs to listen to women more, not less. He might not be having the problems he is having if he did.

Leolady73 Thu 12-Nov-20 11:44:23

I know I’m old fashioned but have objected all along to Johnson taking his then girlfriend to live in no 10 - what an example to our young people. Now she is determining Government personnel

luluaugust Thu 12-Nov-20 11:42:14

I don't know why but I Claudius comes to mind!

GagaJo Thu 12-Nov-20 11:38:56

Or Cummings.

NoddingGanGan Thu 12-Nov-20 11:33:37

Carrie needs to get back into the nursery. The country voted for Boris, not her.

kwest Thu 12-Nov-20 11:30:16

Well jolly well let him go then!

suziewoozie Thu 12-Nov-20 11:07:13

I have watched the rise and rise of RJ with puzzlement over the last few months. He is clearly their send out person now and I’m trying to work out what he’s got on whom

Caragran Thu 12-Nov-20 11:05:52

Cummings should have done the right thing and resigned in the first wave of the pandemic when he was under the impression that he could break all the lockdown rules and nothing would be said.
Some people may have followed instructions a little better if it wasn't for him.
