What do you find yourself avoiding more as you get older?
Angela Rayner is apparently willing to suspend "thousands of members" in order to tackle antisemitism, so is she right? Is it as widespread as she imaginesor is it once again a fight between the LP members and its leadership. And if they are all suspended who will be left?

Devorgilla, regarding your post at 08:53 today, it may be that you are forgetting that many Labour District and Constituency parties cannot meet at this time due to the pandemic restrictions. Many of those that are holding online meetings will not move resolutions or motions as not all members have the capacity or technical knowledge to join such meetings. Therefore, that more than forty Constituency parties have managed to pass resolutions condemning Starmer's behaviour gives sight of the strength of feeling in the party regarding this issue.
Perhaps more importantly for the future of the Parliamentary Labour party are the number of trade union branches, being far better equipped to hold online meetings at present, who are passing resolutions regarding ending funding to the Labour Party and even making a complete break with the same. This seems to be especially prevalent within the Unite Union.
And the above post shows Corbyn supporters !
Several like these on Starmer's every tweet.

Why do you never address the government’s political stance? Crony capitalism or neoliberalism? The driving force behind the decisions they’re making. They’ve caused long term damage past ten years but you seem reluctant to point out why Thinking face #TrilateralCommission
@xpressanny
Too busy bashing Left wing Jewish people, ultra Orthodox, Liberal folk, and Jeremy Corbyn who supported them all! Nothing done about vicious NEC racists who wanted to see young person burned to death! He doesn’t give a toss about Tories as he’s shown since becoming leader!

@Keir_Starmer
Not only that, there'll be further unnecessary deaths because of the 'Conservatives' incompetence and short-term thinking'. And because of your lack of opposition to it Sir Abstainer.
@Cornish_Damo
@Keir_Starmer
Your incompetence, spinelessness, authoritarianism and factional short-term thinking is causing long-term damage to our party.
You also haven't presented any alternative thinking for country, the people, or the economy.
According to the Guardian around 40 CLPs have discussed such a motion out of over 600. I am sure, OT60, you will be able to update us on the exact number it has reached now.
Trisher, I meant to address a previous issue of yours as to how we know some tweets come from Labour members but life got in the way. We do it in the same way exam boards use programmes to scan essays and papers and see the similarities of delivery and language. We, of course, use our brains and previous knowledge. For example several posters on this site are convinced that GD43 was reincarnated as Sara70, who was reincarnated as Nanfer5g who is reincarnated as???????? A bit like those Biblical verses that start Abraham begat.............
Very good post and link above grany, excellent.
Why not post tweets from anti semites praising Corbyn
Too True Oldtimer60 well Said.
On Starmer's twitter lots of people replying to his tweets calling him out people don't trust him nor do I.
Here is just one of them
Lots of CLPs that voted for you to be leader are now passing motions against your actions.

Why has support for Starmer plummeted

We should be openminded. I try to be.
Much as I mistrust Starmer there's probably more to him than meets the eye.
I feel that very many have seen more than enough of Kier Starmer than is sufficient to "meet the eye" in the past few weeks. He certainly knew how to get plenty of publicly when he broke party rules and procedures by carrying out the removal of the whip from Jeremy Corbyn. He then gained even greater publicity by dictating to the entire party and movement that they must not discuss his above actions at any convened district or constituency meeting.
Yes, Starmer is well aware of how to gain publicity for his activities in tearing the Labour Party apart.
Oh, and he was very good at getting publicity when he paid off those who had continually undermined the previous leader for more than four years much to his advantage as it turned out.
Yes, Starmer knows how to get large scale publicity alright without even having to make the effort of moving outside of Westminster.
Reading this thread through, it seems that Labour members or voters on GN are in just as much turmoil ( with each other)
As exists in the PLP at the moment and the wider Labour Movement.
How is will all be eventually resolved is anyone’s guess!
If you follow Starmer's facebook pages, you can see his communication either in person or on zoom. As MaizieD says, the media rarely report what the leader of any opposition is doing.
I was impressed by Starmer at the leadership hustings, I liked Lisa Nandy and was unimpressed by RLB. I didn't vote for Angela Raynor as deputy but she is doing a good job so far. They Labour front bench is streets ahead of Johnsons merry mob.

I've just had a look at Starmer's twitter time line. I haven't finished November yet, but he seems to have been out and about, or having zoom meetings with 'the public' probably more often that our PM. The media may not be reporting much, but when did they ever report the doings of the opposition leaders?
I can't see that he'll be hiding in fridges come the next election...

Perhaps Starmer has not been out as much as Johnson because he is working hard, not off on jollies when he should be working.
Starmer will be working hard at the moment because he has to produce the action plan showing how the recommendations of the EHRC report will be implemented. There are as many as 18 recommendations and the deadline for this is just a week away.
The man should be left to get on with it, not accused of not being visible enough here, there and everywhere.
As for the suggestion that the left may put up that bumbling idiot Ian Lavery as a rival leadership candidate, he is barely coherent when he opens his mouth so bring it on and we'll have a good laugh! It says it all that they can't find someone better

He is out there, if you look online you can see where he’s been - but he’s not making a buffoon of himself by making public appearances for the sake of it when he isn’t adequately briefed, he’s finding his way, carefully working his way round the influencing bodies and people - he’s playing the long game. Given how long it is until the next election, making the Tories look inept in the House of Commons is enough. If you listened to Desert Island Discs you will know what he’s made of. I don’t think the media are finding it easy to make fun of him because the mud isn’t sticking, and that’s tough for the Tory supporting rags.
On the other hand if no-one knows where you are or what you stand for they won't vote for you. Perhaps what he needs is a better publicity officer. You really can't expect people to look on-line for him. I bet there are lots of people who don't know who he is and who wouldn't recognise him.
Agree Casdon

The power of the media cannot be underestimated.
We have never in the last forty years elected a UK PM who was not supported by Rupert Murdoch.
But by making public appearances, Keir Starmer will be seen to be communicating with voters and be seen to be listening to their concerns. That would be a way to be working hard to defeat this Government.
I wonder why his message is not getting across? Is it lack of reporting in the media? Is it that he is only writing in certain news outlets?
Is he deliberately downplaying left wing policy because he knows that if the media perceive him to be left wing they will go all out to destroy his credibility?

I dont want Starmer to make silly, marketing, public appearances that take all his time ad energy. I want him to be working hard to defeat this cynical, selfish, appalling Government.
Sadly he has to also spend much time and energy fighting his own Party, rather than defeating the above. How tragic, what a waste.
Well, I cannot see how Starmer can possibly spend his time on "ad energy" as he never moves out of Westminster. In the last few weeks he seems to have spent most of that time carrying out a "vendetta" against Jeremy Corbyn and in that upsetting just about everybody both left and right in the party by making a stupid dictate that no one should discuss what he has done.
Yes, looks like a great way to lead Labour to election victory.
