Obviously, the Oprah interview with the Sussexes.

I will because I want to hear it straight from the source rather than media spin/interpretation so that I can comment later on what I saw and heard, when discussions start up as they surely will.

However, I don’t think they should be doing an interview at all (I felt the same about Diana and Charles interviews) these things end up backfiring against them.

Seems some seem to have forgotten Diana had problems long
before the marriage,

Given her age when she married she was a teenager & child ‘long before the marriage’. I’m sure the narrative about any teen could be ‘troubled’.

tickingbird Mon 08-Mar-21 08:07:53

Strange how Meghan’s family weren’t mentioned. Afterall her father and sister have sold stories to the press on numerous occasions. Strange THEY didn’t have an effect on her mental health.!

It gets worse, doesn't it ? Me myself and I !

Standards of civilised behaviour?! It's been like watching an upper class soap opera for decades.

I wouldn’t be very civilised if my husband behaved in the way Royal men have grin

People have short memories - they seem to forget how unwell the saintly Diana was because she couldn’t cope with the family or Charles’ behaviour.

Urmstongran Mon 08-Mar-21 07:53:30

Seems wherever she goes there’s a drama. And she’s a victim.

Mollygo Mon 08-Mar-21 07:53:07

I hope Harry is happy now.

FannyCornforth Mon 08-Mar-21 07:51:51

Yes, I understand that.
But I honestly don't think that she must like him very much. He's a bit of a wet blanket.

Anniebach Mon 08-Mar-21 07:47:46

Yes millions. £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £

tickingbird Mon 08-Mar-21 07:45:22

And I don't know how she manages to put up with Harry

Millions of reasons she puts up with him.

Nezumi65 Mon 08-Mar-21 07:42:28

Grandma70s - if you can’t recognise racism when you see it (red hair very different from comments about skin colour) then you re not going to understand the problem with the comments she received

Kalu Mon 08-Mar-21 07:40:45

All this Hollywood hooha is down to M as that is the life she knows, not so H who had a very different upbringing including standards of civilised behaviour. What a pity he doesn’t have the balls to stand up to his self serving wife.

I won’t be watching this debacle.

FannyCornforth Mon 08-Mar-21 07:40:45

I must add that I do feel sorry for Meghan.
And I don't know how she manages to put up with Harry. He seems a gormless fool. He must drive her mad.

FannyCornforth Mon 08-Mar-21 07:37:48

No.
I'm absolutely sick and tired and bored to tears of it already.
I've just stocked up on Audible books to see me through the next week.

(One of which happens to be The Husband Hunters which is about the daughters of the New York rich marrying into English society in the 1870s, which seems pertinent.)

I have got an insatiable appetite for celebrity guff and armchair psychology, so if I'm anything to go by, I don't think that there is much longevity in this.

And she's having a daughter. Now that child really will be Meghan's golden egg and the gift that keeps on giving. I always predicted that Meghan would stick with Harry until she had a girl; 'Diana's Granddaughter'.

Galaxy Mon 08-Mar-21 07:33:59

Taking offence at small things. Surely you are joking.

Nezumi65 Mon 08-Mar-21 07:33:46

Yep - no doubt we’re going to have to put up with a load of foaming at the mouth from the Mail, the Express and their readers (including my MIL) so I may as well watch and make up my own mind.

Plus the Andrew interview was fascinating. Not just in a horrific way - but also for the glimpse it gave into the arrogance and entitlement of the man and the institution. Hoping to get more glimpses into the culture of the RF

Katie59 Mon 08-Mar-21 07:27:48

Harry got it really wrong with Meghan all the allegations are unsupportable, because the RF are not likely to respond, they will be very angry. If Meghan felt “unsupported” Harry could have made sure that she was, he had the authority to do that. If a staff member did say offensive remarks, Harry could have had them removed, if I had heard that sort of comment, their feet would not touch the ground.

How much is true and how much is distorted I have no idea, I’m sure the anti monarchists will lap it up. Oprah added to the dramatization, all carefully scripted to do as much damage as possible.

Brilliant, Elegran!!

Although that said, if she really didn't know she was supposed to curtsey to the Queen, then Harry didn't prepare her very well to join the firm.

She doesn’t appear to have understood much about her expected role.

It seems to have been exactly the self-centred whinge-fest I feared it might be, sadly. Taking offence at small things. Don’t most people wonder what a new child will look like like? I know I wondered whether my children would have red hair like my mother-in-law (they didn’t).

I don't approve of it but will probably watch, but not sure if I can take 2 hours of her 'poor me" comments. Yes the special Diana smudged eye make up. All so false and staged.

Even worse, it replaces Forgotten.

My listing shows Forgotten is on.
H+M are on at 10.45pm - 12.30

NellG Sun 07-Mar-21 21:12:40

Unfortunately only in a parallel universe with no Spotify or Netflix. But at least we have the choice not to stream them.

Tangerine Sun 07-Mar-21 21:10:49

Yes, I plan to watch.

maddyone Sun 07-Mar-21 21:04:01

How wonderful that would be Urmston and the happy ending would be that we never hear of them again. How lovely.
Unfortunately I think it’s unlikely.
