They don’t help themselves do they?

I can hardly believe I’m going to post this but does anyone else find it hard to believe that Harry and Andrew who actually saw active service for Queen and country are to wear suits for the funeral rather than uniform? I understand why this decision has been made and I think it stinks quite frankly - designed to humlitate. I don’t know why they’re not wearing sackcloth and ashes actually - petty, vindictive, what a lovely family they are.

I wasn’t even disagreeing with you, just agreeing with another poster.

I’m fairly new and you obviously thought I was a softer target than them.

Aveline Tue 13-Apr-21 13:37:01

Yes Anniebach she has. What a relief for the Royal family!

Aveline Tue 13-Apr-21 13:36:01

I remember reading with sadness Peaseblossom's post in which she said she was now' in tears'. It's deplorable that a poster can reduce others to a state of such misery.

Peasblossom Tue 13-Apr-21 13:33:51

No, none of those.

You went for me personally, mocked me, sneered at me and wouldn’t stop.

Deny it all you like. That’s what you did.

Anniebach Tue 13-Apr-21 13:33:30

Good grief Aveline Meg has forgiven the royal family ?

Surely she hasn’t made an announcement

Cunco Tue 13-Apr-21 13:33:13

I suspect that if Boris Johnson had decided to go to the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral, he would have been attacked with equal vehemence for taking the place of a family member and for double standards after having asked the public to stay away.

Sadly, politics is more about debasing than debating these days.

A couple of weeks ago Suziewoozie quite deliberately and vindictively bullied me off a thread with her personal attack on me.

She mocked and sneered and wouldn’t stop. Even when I said I was distressed and felt bullied she carried on.

I just want that known.

I actually don’t recall that at all but I do know that some posters equate bullying with being criticised, corrected, challenged or disagreed with.

H has only got the one grey suit and brown shoes.

I agree Jane - calling people “petty and vindictive” is unnecessary. Oh wait...

I have scrolled through this thread and there is no mention of that in any of her posts? confused

Aveline Tue 13-Apr-21 13:27:41

Well you'll be pleased to know that Meghan has 'forgiven' the Royal family.

Keep going, this thread will be closed, effort accomplished

Why?

I have never called an individual poster petty and vindictive - I may well have described some threads as demonstrating those qualities ( with justification) but that’s a different matter from all out personal attacks.

^So eaten up with aggressive anger she can’t just withdraw and allow the family to grieve for a much loved elder.^

Well who knew? The RF get agitated by what random middle aged women post on anonymous forums about wearing uniforms.

Suzie, you are personally making the Queen's life worse. Apparently.

Oh I know, I know, I know. There’s no hope for me is there?

It is really quite unnecessary, why aren't those posts deleted? I think people forget that (hopefully) we are real people sitting behind our digital screens with real life crap going on. All the name calling is really off.

It needs reporting first but there is a school of thought that says call them out on their posts and leave them there for others to see what passes for adult debate for some posters.

If only H & M had not given that 'interview' and kept any issues they had with the RF private, there'd be none of this ridiculous speculation going on.

At leat this thread made me laugh. Suziewoosie accusing other of being vile and vindictive. Pot, kettle, black!

So eaten up with aggressive anger she can’t just withdraw and allow the family to grieve for a much loved elder.

Pathetic and rather sad.

And here comes another personal attack - only one or two to go now and it’ll be Bingo ??? maybe you didn’t quite use enough negative words with which to attack me but hey you can have another go or someone else can.

Newatthis Tue 13-Apr-21 13:01:07

It would have been decided by someone else what they were to wear. There is a whole volume of information for service personnel in the Queen's regulations manual advising active or retired as to when they can and can't, should and shouldn't wear their uniforms. This is not a decision they would have made.

Dottynan Tue 13-Apr-21 12:58:09

Some people are talking about uniforms of retired personnel being okay to wear as long as the letter "R" is worn. Can I ask where is the letter worn on the uniform and what form does it take.

Alegrias1 Tue 13-Apr-21 12:50:36

I wouldn't say I'm enraged Call, more exasperated that people want to read this kind of thing.....I agree with you about the spoon though.

Anniebach Tue 13-Apr-21 12:46:05

Even John Major when interviewed about Phillip went on to say he hoped William and Harry will work out their differences
