Well that is good to hear.

Frankly I think every one of us should be more critical of all political parties, including the one we support.

I am so worried at the way things are going in this country.

Well! Knock me down with a feather. The Tories voted against the Labour proposal to set up an enquiry into cronyism and corruption.

Who would have thought????

Carry on with corruption, nothing to see here. Supporters nod along like donkeys.

It occurs to me when posters say “all politicians are the same”

I’d be interested in examples of a politician other than a Tory who have undertaken such cronyism and corruption.

I suspect some of them only say it when it’s Tory politicians involved. Were it to be Labour politicians I think we might be seeing some different responses. Just a hunch ?

Just said that this past year £11bn of tax payers money has gone to Tory donors or friends. None of it tendered for or remotely transparent.

Fair enough Lemongrove, it depends on how we define thick. Its not a nice term anyway so I shouldn't have used it. So he's forgetful, badly advised ( David the Unready? ), over confident, cowardly and too self assured.

Why did we ever think he would be any good as PM?

Sadly I think there are very few people who go into politics because they want to make people's lives better, usually they just want to line their pockets and they see themselves above the law. This government is particularly bad and tbh they sicken me but I think we know a lot more of what goes on now than we used to. Politics is a vile business and to survive you need the hide of a rhino, it also helps if you lack integrity. I wonder how some of them sleep at night!

The only time they won’t sleep is if they think they will have to reimburse the taxpayer with the money they have embezzled.

Otherwise they don’t give a stuff.

1. Left his child in a pub and forgot about her.
2. Granted Scotland a referendum and thought they'd walk it, and nearly broke up the UK. (ah, missed opportunities...)
3. Flushed with success, thought he'd unite the Tory Party by offering a referendum on something else that he would win easily. Then lost.
4. Told everyone he'd see it though to the end and then resigned.
5. Wrote one of the most self serving autobiographies ever, has no idea of his own image in the country.

I understand he has a first from Oxford in PPE, so academically he must be quite bright. I wouldn't put him in charge of a tombola stall though.

I think we can all agree that he certainly isn’t thick.
Does he have common sense? Maybe not in some areas.

As with all these so-called high-flyers, they don't think they'll ever be found out. I'm over the moon when they are ! Nothing gives me greater pleasure.

A bunch of privileged, rich people using their privilege and positions to get richer, nothing changes.

When I was at school, we always held class, year and house elections which were a gateway for teaching about UK politics. We also had mock elections with hustings for candidates along the lines of politic parties when there were General Elections in the UK.

This led on to discussions regarding the political system, politicians and what was expected of them.

Maybe it’s time to reinstate this in our schools. So many people from all walks of life are totally disenfranchised from politics.

And not let’s even start on what Johnson has said on fully open mikes on national radio

It could even, perhaps, be forgiven, in view of the fact that he and he and his Chancellor managed to save the UK from the worst consequences of the Global Financial Crisis, which would have emptied all our bank accounts had it gone unchecked.

And wasn't it John Major, in another open mike incident who was heard to call some of his parliamentary party 'bastards'?

Your post is just clutching at straws and didn’t seem to show an appreciation of the issues we are discussing here which could be viewed as systemic corruption.No one is squeaky clean but being rude about someone is hardly in the same class is it?

I think Cameron is just a bit thick, really, and was just doing what he thought was the normal thing to do for people of privilege.

The attitude that they are all at it so we shouldn't get too upset by it is what got us into this situation in the first place. We are entitled to expect more of people in public office.

2. Yes, many politicians from all parties try and do what he is alleged to have done
3. If true, was it wrong? Yes.
4.Should it be investigated? Yes.
5.Is it being investigated? Yes.
