I was not a fan of Diana but I just think that she would be heartbroken over the rift between her sons and she would never have allowed it to happen.

Yes. What I keep coming back to is how happy the brothers were in each others company until a few years ago. That's not to say they didn't have fall outs, but this rift appears to run far deeper and unfortunately for them is being fuelled by so many others.
I think one poster said way back on this thread, we can only feel sorrow for them.

Exactly, which is why so many are exasperated at finding him in the news on a daily basis. Oprah and Gayle and Scoobydoo etc are all infuriatingly contributing to this from one side, then journalists on this side refute the information given. Then half the world and his uncle join in. Then GNs pick up on it, including those who say they are not interested, and the comments fly.

Exactly Ellianne. It’s what used to be called gossip in the old days. It brings to mind those Les Dawson skits where he heaved up his enormous bosom and pretended to speak under his breath to his neighbour

How on earth can you see anything racist in a poster giving Omid Scobie the nick name Scoobydoo Alegrias or are you desperately trying to find a reason to get this thread shut down, as others have been by making false allegations of racism?

I agree lemongrove if there are some who find anything associated with H & M or the RF so boring, why not leave those of us who do want to discuss it in peace to do so.

It means told them off. I would have thought they were behaving unkindly.

A bollocking is/was a serious telling-off by someone in authority, probably involving shouting, strong language and a mention of being out on your ear if the crime was repeated. The connection with testicles (bollocks) isn't clear, but presumably the offender felt as though he had been grabbed by the short and curly hairs and given a hearty shake.

Anyway, all nicknames are rude if the person hasn't agreed to their use and I will criticise them all if I am in a conversation where it is relevant to do so. I have certainly on several occasions said it is inappropriate to call the PM anything but Johnson or Boris Johnson.

The nickname is used because you find his real name funny and difficult to assimilate with your day-to-day understanding of how people should be named. Calling him by another name is a way of minimising his importance and poking fun at him.

Exactly lemsip. I tried to talk about William and Harry at 7.40, 7.44, 12.44, 14.06 as did a few other posters. However, some so called "disinterested" posters want to derail the thread and come up with the derogatory, bad mannered remarks you mention.
I am very cool here today, quite a breeze on the coast.

I myself wouldn't have referred to Omid Scobie at all, under any name or nickname, and couldn't see any connection with Scoobie-doo, apart from the similarity of Scobie and Scoobie. However, on doing a bit of research on Scoobie-doo, I found out that In 2002, . . Scooby-Doo returned to Saturday morning for the first time in 17 years with "What's New, Scooby-Doo?" Perhaps the link is that Mr Scobie is writing about "What's new" in the Harry/Megan saga? I still don't see any racism, except the unrelated fact that he has an Iranian mother.
