Wills and Harry rift blown out of proportion

I've thought all along that the so-called "feud" between the brothers has been exaggerated by the media. Brothers fall out as anyone with sons will tell you. Usually they make it up and everything is forgotten, but with Harry leaving the country and the press delighting in nasty gossip, a small disagreement has grown into all out war.
At least one reporter thinks as I do.

So I can expect Algerias1 to tick of anyone who speaks of their darling husband because mine died 45 years ago , and no criticism of police officers because he died on duty ?

Such a sensitive poster we have among us.

Elegran Fri 23-Apr-21 15:36:50

If no mothers or grandmothers can go Aaaah! at a photo of a nice little boy because others have no grandchildren and may be distressed by the post, can we expect a ban on anyone mentioning that their husband/partner has been so good while they were immobilised, bringing them tea/coffee/ burnt toast/wine/flowers/shopping/cleaning, because others have no husband/partner and may be distressed by the post?

And more, I am a mother of a daughter who suffered 14 failed
IVF attempts , I am so aware of the distress of those who want a child but can’t conceive

Anniebach Fri 23-Apr-21 15:08:23

Algerias1. I know nothing of the family life of those who post here with the exception of those who have spoken of their family, I was speaking for myself as a mother/ grandmother, you are so hasty to judge, assume the worse and post.

Alegrias1 Fri 23-Apr-21 14:14:49

Leadsom told the press that May didn't have a stake in the future because she wasn't a mother.

You said that appreciating pictures of cute little boys was a mother/grandmother thing. Hence excluding those of us who are neither and minimising our input.

Sorry everyone for having to explain it in so much detail, sometimes that's necessary.

What on earth has Teresa May got to do with it

Galaxy Fri 23-Apr-21 14:04:48

You are telling me nanna.

nanna8 Fri 23-Apr-21 14:03:41

Teresa May was better than what you’ve got now. Just digressing for a moment.

Alegrias1 Fri 23-Apr-21 13:55:29

Remember when Andrea Leadsom made those remarks about Teresa May and motherhood?

Just saying. Sometimes people just can't help themselves from being rude.

Anniebach Fri 23-Apr-21 13:49:58

What excitement ? Rubbish just stirring again .

A photograph of a 3 year old and perfectly natural comments from some who would say the same of a photograph of any 3 year old

A mother / grandmother thing

I don’t get your interest ! But congratulations on your perfect day.

I’m wondering why your post comes across as bitter, Lucca.

It’s a lovely photo

Not bitter at all, why do you think that ? I am not bitching at anyone I’m just saying I personally don’t understand the excitement!

Me too Casdon, I still remember my white trousers just above the ankle with their tartan trim, my tartan scarf that I embroidered 'Alan' on in yellow chain stitch next to a heartblush.

"one camera and a relaxed 3 year old, not cameras from the press" precisely Annie.

Well said Elegransmile.

Casdon Fri 23-Apr-21 11:18:47

I saw that yesterday Alegrias1, poor Les, I was a big fan in the day.

Alegrias1 Fri 23-Apr-21 11:17:10

Bonnie bairn.

We've got bigger issues to put on the front pages here in Scotland. (Vaccines, Cummings, Climate Change....but mostly Les)

nanna8 Fri 23-Apr-21 10:15:49

He looks a little cutie, just like his Mum.

Anniebach Fri 23-Apr-21 10:11:56

Galaxy. Yes I think Kate is wise to take the photographs herself, one camera and a relaxed 3 year old, not cameras from the press.

Who can forget William and Harry being photographed in a fun park !

lemongrove Fri 23-Apr-21 10:11:34

I saw a happy little three year old boy yesterday, walking along holding his mother’s hand and in his other little hand he clutched a balloon on a stick. His face showed pure shining happiness.I was in the car, he saw me looking and smiling and smiled back at me, it made me wish my son was still that age, or failing that, my grandson! Happy days.

lemongrove Fri 23-Apr-21 10:06:06

It is a lovely photo, the joy of a three year old on his new bike.?

Elegran Fri 23-Apr-21 10:05:56

Dearie me! Can't a mother take a (very good) photo of her happy son and release it without people being bitchy about it to each other?

Thank heaven for happy little boys. There are enough screwed-up ones around, screwed-up old women too who see a chance for sniping in everything they read. No wonder new posters think that is all there is to Gransnet!

Galaxy Fri 23-Apr-21 09:47:03

The royal women annie. You said it was wise of her to take her own photos. So presumably it would be unwise of her to use a photographer. Imagine having every action judged like that.

Lovely photograph and I agree Annie that Kate does the right thing taking her own photo's of the children.

FannyCornforth Fri 23-Apr-21 09:25:24

Louis looks just like Kate's dad.

Ellianne Fri 23-Apr-21 09:25:04

Thank you so much Lucca. Just a day like any other. It will come and go along with all the other gossip in the media. I'm interested in anything and everything.
